There is a kindness and truthfulness to Brandon and Ronnie that translate through their songs and music. What is not to love about the way Brandon loves his wife and family? The Killer's My Own Soul's Warning says it all. LOVE IT. Thank you guys.
His voice got soooo much fucking better over the years. Like it was never bad, but sounds more confident with it. The caution performance was so damn good
This rendition of "Land of the Free" is priceless. I know of no other band that expresses their views of what they believe to be important, "political" or not, so consistently and powerfully. God bless them. Also, the lyrical style of A Pirate Looks at 40 illuminates the confessional, personal, inner-turmoil songwriting I think we see a lot more now, like on Imploding the Mirage. Explains a lot about where he gets his inspiration from!
Land of the Free: “Unfortunately this song is still relevant.” Powerful statement! Normally you want a song to stay relevant. Love their hearts. Such talent and passion...can’t wait for their new album.
Straight up my favourite song of all time. I actually had it as my morning alarm for the longest time, and everyone always says that's the fastest way to make you hate a song... but nope. Not this time.
What an amazing set. I love these guys - genuine and without pretension, Brandon is so lovable, obviously talented but sweet natured and an unassuming soul, a total contrast to the mainstream celebrity world. Would love to see them live.
Another Killer performance and covering JB's A Pirate Looks at 40 was a special treat. Love you guys so much. Attending your 2019 Indy concert with my teenage son was one of the greatest nights of my life, lightning delay and all! Keep on trucking boys!!!
Land of the Free (2020) Can't wipe the wind-blown smile from across my face It's just the old man in me Washing his truck at the Sinclair station In the land of the free His mother Adeline's family came on a ship Cut coal and planted a seed Down in them drift mines of Pennsylvania In the land of the free Land of the free, land of the free In the land of the free Land of the free, land of the free Land of the free, land of the free In the land of the free When I go out in my car, I don’t think twice But if you’re the wrong color skin You grow up looking over both your shoulders In the land of the free How many killings must one man watch in his home Till he sees the price on the tag Eight measured minutes and 46 seconds Another boy in the bag Another stain on the flag Land of the free, land of the free In the land of the free Land of the free, land of the free Move on there's nothing too see Land of the free, land of the free In the land of the free Father in heaven hear our plea Father in heaven help us see How to loose our hatred and find your favor How to break this cycle and change our nature That we may walk underneath your banner In the land of the free Land of the free, land of the free In the land of the free Land of the free, land of the free There's room for you and for me Land of the free, land of the free In the land of the free
Mark Stoermer is still in the band, but not touring/performing a lot. With Dave Keuning it is still unclear, but Ronnie said a few days ago that he will probably join them again soon!
I love this performance but is it just me or is his synth way out of tune from everything else? maybe it's hows it's being recorded but it really cuts through every time for me
