Dave putting on a clinic on how to use the whole guitar, pick attack, little subtleties only guitar players would ever notice. There's alot going on in this song...riff after riff
The "Sleepwalker" album brings back such great memories. I wore out the second side of that record when I was a kid. Such nice, clean guitar work by Dave.
once again I discover a great Kinks song I never heard. This song really grows on you. Can't believe someone actually gave this a dislike. thanks for the upload and for all the other ones too.
joe rockhead look up the whole album sleepwalker and listen to it its best listened all the way though not a single non amazing song and they put an amazing amount of thought into how it flowed from song to song I'll get some hate I'm sure but as an album as a whole I'd say it's better than the deads American Beauty.
I am hooked on this song. Absolutely the best Kinks video I have ever seen. I have watched it everyday for a couple weeks now and I love the way the cameraman gets just the right amount of Ray and Dave in the video. especially when Daves doing his licks.
Watched The Kinks on The Old Grey Whistle Test 1977 last night. Now buying what Ray called his loser album Sleepwalker. Because these songs are really fabulous.
Cracking track from a cracking album. Love the sleepwalker album. That cd never leaves car. Other cds I alternate around. The kinks sleepwalker remains always.
I was lucky enough to grow up w/ it. Dig deep / explore what didn't make public broadcasting. If your willing you'll find some great creations. B-sides of the hit single, I preferred more than not. Wish you luck & hope you find some gems of your own. Start with you fav bands, listen to the tunes your not familiar w/. Peace
I love this song. I have the last line of lyrics (studio version) on my arm. But here, Ray sings it differently. The only thing that mars the performance! Just kidding though, this performance is as perfect as it gets.
Oh, oh darlin', Little darlin', Did you ever see such a stormy sky? It's never been like this before. All the people, They're runnin'. Ev'rybody's try'n' to hide, To get away from that stormy sky. Perhaps it's a sign Of what we're headed for. We're under a stormy sky, Watchin' the clouds roll by. But won't you let me keep you warm, And leave the storm outside? It's only a stormy sky. I feel it. Do you feel it? Can you feel it? Feels like we're in for a stormy night, But I can't see a cloud in sight. I see it. Do you see it? Can't you see it, See that warning in that stormy sky. But perhaps its gonna pass us by, So don't you cry. There's nowhere we can hide. But if you hold me tight, I know that we'll be all right. Tomorrow we'll laugh about it; Greet the mornin' light. It's only a stormy sky. We're under a stormy sky, Watchin' the clouds roll by. But there'll be another dawn To clear the storm away, And we will be all right.
The little guy behind Dave is Jim Rodford, originally a Zombie, then 17 years a Kink, then back to the Zombies! R.I.P. Jim, you were one of the good ones!
