The Kulture Study: SECRET NUMBER 'Fire Saturday' MV REACTION & REVIEW 

Note: At one point I ask if one of the girls with red hair is Denise because I was watching this MV looking for her (I loved her vocals in GOT THAT BOOM) but that girl didn't really look like Denise. Turns out Denise is NOT in this comeback.

The Denise-Dita duo is the most distync voices that makes this group stands out from any other kpop girl groups in terms of vocal. Denise's absence is the bigest lost for Vine, although they recruited 2 new members who sing really well. So now they change the concept, they make two rap verses that is great because Jinny is one of the best kpop girl rappers, and we still have Dita who add the vocal colour. Her voice (although it's not the best technique) always stands out and recognizable. But actually I can immagine what's the song sounds like if Denise were in it. The character of the group changed for sure. But the song itself is really, i mean really really good. It's catchy, it is fun, it is addictive. For me this is the best of their title tracks so far. Let's support the new Secret Number and also Denise whatever she's doing now.

I am definitely missing Denise's vocals on this... No Bridge = No Denise. Jinny totally owns this song though. No critique for my Princess Dita!

i think it's fantastic. the only thing is that it's unsatisfactory because it's too short. a bridge would have been so satisfying.

i think the lack of bright lighting to make the members seem more white and bright was a stylistic choice to make it seem more 70s/80s movie film-like. i appreciate it, personally.

Song wise 8/10, MV wise 10/10 so the reverse rating for me actually lol. As someone who has been a fan/Lockey since the start, I know that their skill sets were not fully utilized this comeback. Moreover, I know what Minji is capable of in terms of vocals and Zuu apparently has great dance skills. If I were to add more to the song, I would add a bridge that somehow showcases the new members more. All in all, it seems like there is a mixed response by the general public and Lockeys. But apparently, their b-side 'Dangerous In Love' is so good, Secret Number's Jinny (the rapper) wrote the song (I will have to check it out soon cause their b-sides always deliver) :)

Vine Entertainment they are really smart to make something about secret number, I think. Like this song "fire Saturday" make us not enough to play it just for 1 or 2 times, they make it for us to play it "more and more" and all about this comeback it's anti mainstream, we can't find the secret number vibes on another K-Pop groups.. Secret number is secret number nothing else. I think this is why so many people that before is not K-popers start becoming "Lockey" Bcz secret number is totally different from what they drawing on they're minds about K-Pop girl group.

What I love about Secret Number is the fact that they refuse to stick to a style/concept/theme, whatever you may call it. From Who Dis, Got that Boom, and now to Fire Saturday, all different, always unexpected. So, hats off to them. This song is lighthearted fun & sooo catchy, reminding me of Cyndi Lauper's 80's girl-power anthem of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". Love the song and the MV. They fit the Secret Number that we've known & grown to love. I think they've resolved to go the direction as far from GTB as possible, visually, and they've succeeded. I remember a Reactor commented on the psychedelic lighting on GTB, so bright & sharp that it almost hurts the eyes. And now it's almost the opposite? Fits the theme, though? Also, as always, love the B-side even more. All three of them. Anyway, congrats on the Comeback. Hope it succeeds the best, especially in terms of album sales🙏🙏

The girls' vocals on their own sound great, but I feel like the vocals in this track sounded a bit off. Like it needed a biiiit more tweaking in terms of mixing/mastering. It wasn't that they sounded hollow, but the vocals did lack layers or depth to them, or sounded a bit raw.

I think the song was really nice to hear. It had moments where I was really into it and others where I’m bobbing my head. I hope Denis will be able to join the following comeback. But I look forward to receiving the albums

The thing about the MV, i do personally like this better than got that boom. Got that boom is good, but after awhile I don't think I like how the color pop out so much from the screen. Some of my friends think so too. Maybe it's just our personal preference. But if we think about it, many fans of Secret Number come from abroad, so maybe it's their effort to appeal to them more. Or maybe the director of the MV trying some psychological trick. You know, if you darken the tone, it give you some urge to see it repeatedly. It gives you some feeling of missing something in the video so you play it again and again. I don't know. 😁 About Jessi being the lyricist of this song, that's really make sense if we see how the song emphasize the rap part so much. That's fantastic. Jinny rap is caught me off guard and I take it as a pleasant surprise. That part so powerful it makes me smile all through the song. And I can't get enough of it I keep repeating it. I agree with you, the song is feels like it's ended too early. A song this good and it feels so short I keep craving for more of it. At the beginning when you say "I need to turn this up", I know that, that's a sign of an interesting song. Our girls doing good this time.

thats what i like from secret number, their vocal tone hits different. its easy for me to recognize who sing the part. im not kinda mv person. i just loved hearing music while do some activities, so this song is a vibe 😂. if u ask me what is missing?, yeah it was toooo short and im missing denise tho. their bside worth to listen too, it called "dangerous in love" and has a different vibe from fire saturday. will be great if you check it out too thanks for your reaction 💖

because here, what u're witnessing is a cultural changes in kpop lead by the 4th gens. aespa stayc, loona, gidle, purple kiss, itzy and secret number. those are the groups that i think strated to build a new era in kpop, which is a cultural change. those groups are very very unique with their own tone, own concept, own theme overall. they are all out of the market, no way near the kpop market demands. they have their distinctive style that soon or later will change the kpop culture industries.

I think the music video lacks of budget due to their small agency focuses more on other promos. But the song though.... SO ADDICTIVE! I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It is very different than nowadays KPop. Brilliant!

In my opinion Song : 9/10 MV : 8/10 Dance : 9/10 I know your feel for the MV, they just give classic retro taste unlike kpop in common.

honestly, the song wasn't that bad! it just was missing a bridge and it also felt quite empty without denise. the current members as well as the new ones did great. jinny's rap's really carried the song for me and as well as the chorus. the music video is so pretty but it also felt awkward at some parts, like they needed filler.

For me, I can feel the song and vibes in when I heard it more than once. Anyway, I Love them and I hope they will get a big success in the future ❤️

This song is addicting. The first listen with you, I was thrown off by the intro and it seemed too long or something and the rap first listen is what stood out to me and impressed me and I wasn't too sure on the chorus like it maybe is too repetitive. But the more listens with you, it became very addicting and I love the intro part! It all sounds great together!! I like the uniqueness of the song and mv! They're doing their own thing! Plus with it being like a 70s/80s feel, maybe the mv was influenced by a movie from that time?? Maybe the mv director was mimicking/paying homage to a certain movie or something? Or just gave it that weird lighting to give it more a vintage/authentic 70/80s feel?

I liked it! It needs less welcome to my world and Jinny and Dita made the song but the newcomers did very well!

I’m… conflicted about this comeback… For every good part, there’s a part that I don’t like about the song. For example, the “Come into my world/welcome to my world” is repeated too much in my opinion. It makes the song feel flat. There’s no actual bridge so the song feels short. And Lea being shafted once again (she’s getting less and less lines like c’mon now) Parts I do like: the second part of the chorus I adore (where Dita sings) and Jinny’s RAP! OMGGGG I’m glad they gave her parts to shine and she crushed it Song overall: 6/10. The MV is 8/10: I do like how it’s shot & the new members seemed like perfect additions I hope they have a successful comeback & that Denise can come back soon

I agree with you opinnion about their mv, im an artist and usually use vocal point aspect for drawing object and to separate they from backgroud, but i think they want to make it dramatic but they didnt use one tone or rhytem thats make some clip look dark amd some clip look to bright make people dizzy. Mv that i like the most that use one tone event its look dark is psycho from RV, they so well separated member from bacgroud and make mv feel so suite their title, superb team behind thats mv

as someone who loves who dis and got that boom, im not a fan off this song, imo it sounds messy and the vocals of denise is definitely what i miss. she was a very powerful vocalist with a powerful voice and tone. them singing in the chorus now sounds a bit strained? also the chorus is kinda underwhelming for me edit: i just listened to the b-side “dangerous in love” and i honestly dont understand why its not the title track, its SO much better”

Yes! When I first watched I felt that something was different with the MV, something was lacking but at the same time it wasn’t, I just couldn’t thell what exactly was, but looking again, I really enjoy it!

Im a lockey and i was so excited for their comeback after 11 months. At first i was disappointed. The song felt lacking and the music video wasn’t giving anything to me. However i think both of them are growers. I now can’t get the song out of my head and i love the music video too. It’s not a typical kpop mv especially when it comes to lightning but i think everything fits the song’s vibe well. One thing i’d say is this tho. I feel like they had many good sets but couldn’t use them properly in the best way. It might be because of the budget but it’s like a if a different (maybe bigger) company were to shoot a mv with the same scenes secret number had in their fire saturday mv, they would’ve been able to make a better use of them. However, overall i’d give this comeback a 9/10. Btw i LOVE the styling so much

What i like in this comeback is that Jinny finally got not only a full rap section but two rap sections and that ending. Not only that, they did it very well for ''punch lines'' to enter the pre chorus and the 2nd verse of the song. PD, Denise is not in this comeback due to contract issues. Agree on the Music Video and i agree on the song. I LOVE IT, Secret Number did it again with 2nd gen vibes PD: Jessi made some lyrics and i think it was the rap because the rap were amazing PD.2: They entered for the 1st time on Bugs top 100 at 98 and then re peak on 46! and also they sold +2.700 copies on 1st day being their biggest sales compared to Who Dis? and Got That Boom
