I took the part with the bandaids and the anxiety clips as a criticism of people who romanticise and glamorise mental illnesses. The bandaids are cute and colourful and serve no purpose besides looking pretty bc she doesn't have any actual wounds while the clips show that she's using anxiety as a literal accessory
i took the part as she has hurt herself so much through the increasing dangerous photo taking and being fake to get views. Also during that part, she is wearing a shirt called unfollow and she is wearing hair pins for anxiety i think she meant she is scared and anxious people unfollow her if she dont keep it up yet she is very hurt and damaged already
And you know what, it is actually happening recently where people are selling tshirts with "anxiety" or any some sort of mental illness stuff printed on it and it is really bothersome because its not an aesthetic
xxgodlikesilversxx I think it is better that some people have T-shirts with "Anxiety" on it than if people don't talk about these issues at all (like in the past). There are some negatives to this of course (but that goes with everything). It can actually help people who have problems with mental heath to come forward and seek help because they are not ashamed of it and they don't fear talking about it (as they could if no one talked about it).
Sunmi And Eunjung as opposed to “harm their self” I’d say it’s more so they’d do whatever it takes to get fame/attention. This is exemplified with the fake photos of herself enjoying vacations in exotic locations, just for likes
also in my opinion this not only applies to ppl who "directly harm" themselves intentionally for attention, it could also apply to people whos too invested in social medias that they neglect their real life and eventually harm themselves..

I agree with everything you said. From my perspective “NOIR” is the perfect MV of describing what happens today in society and the unhealthy obsession of how people will do the craziest things for clout like for clickbait, views, likes, and subscribers. Also, it’s alarming seeing how many ppl go to dangerous lengths just to get popular like pretending to have a mental illness for aesthetic reasons. It’s unsettling that I see this more often now since I’ve been online, people can change based of the constant need for public opinion that can be good or bad.

Timothy Ford Yea. But Likey is about this standard about girls and how they are different on social media and real-life. On social media the girls wanna look pretty and impress that certain someone. Noir and Likey are a little similar but very different. They both kinda show that social media makes people try to “fit in”. Some connections here and there but minor.
Loved this video and the song! It's hard to say when the year just started but I feel like Noir is going to be my favorite song of 2019 along with Eung Eung by Apink. There's so much to see in the MV (like, the bathroom scene references the sneeze in Siren but also when Sunmi is sitting in the bathroom in WG's Why So Lonely, and the cactus could also be referencing the cactus in Why So Lonely) but the song can go hand in hand with the MV, even though the lyrics are way more vague. I hope you have a great time at her show in a few days!
The song is basically about the dangers of being an influencer and how it can get into your head, making you want more attention and making you do anything as a means of gaining that attention. Sunmi gave an incredible message with this music video.

This song can be triggering for some, I try not too watch during certain scenes. But it’s definitely a meaningful music video with an important message. Sunmi’s acting is quite amazing, gives me creeps watching her smile like she does.

I've never really sought out Sunmi's music, but this MV really caught my attention. the concept seems like it's really coming from her heart and I'm curious about the lyrics. Also if you see the full outfit of the tube top and anxiety hair pins it looks cool af to me

This signify show she is leaving her virtual self and coming back to reality. Yet when seeing her burning car she immediately decides to document it. this signifies how people can no longer distinguish between virtual and reality. U see sunmi gradually going to extreme lengths in the name of social media, (**3:51**)to a point that it’s addictive (as if your on drugs). Sunmi has recently become one of only two solo artists I follow closely, the other being Heize. They both have such unique styles in both song production and visuals and carry a haunting aura with their music.

When she had the hearts stamped on etc I think it was symbolic to how much kpop idols are products before human, then the following clip features the same setting but her covered in band aids as a temporary fix to the problem. The hair clips you mentioned in the video are also awesome to have! 💜💜💜💜

The water was because of the ice bucket challenge, back in the day there were a lot of people that didnt stop just by throwing upon themselves cold water but went beyond that. Thats why the next scene is her with electricity in her hand while being soaked in water. You should also watch her billboard interview, very interesting and she also explains why she chose the word Noir for the song.
when sunmi was eating those heart shaped candy, the way she would put it in her mouth (like a pill) reminded me of antidepressants. as someone who has been taking them for a few years now, perhaps that is why this was my first thought. i interpreted the video as criticism against romanticizing situations that are dangerous to your mental and physical health. kind of like how people will exaggerate a situation to the point where they seem suicidal, but it's meant for a "relatability" factor in social media, and will not realize how much these thoughts will end up affecting them (saying something ironically can eventually turns into being unironically, such as saying you hate yourself jokingly may actually lower your self-esteem if you continue to do it again and again) that's just my thoughts, though, and i really enjoy how this mv is like an artpiece where everyone can have their own interpretation of what it means. love your videos too, pd!
