This is the last update about the arrival of the 2025 Mazda CX-70. The CX-70 crossovers will be arriving to USA dealers in the next week or two. Mazda Canada dealers are already seeing them.
The Mazda CX-70 will be the second large platform vehicle to be released in this country. It is the exact same dimensions as the preceding Mazda CX-90, however the CX 70 will only seat 5 passengers. The CX-70 has a lot of firsts as well, including Connected Navigation and Amazon Alexa built in. The Mazda CX-70 also offers red leather interior and the largest cargo capacity.
The new interior color is joined by new exterior offerings including Polymetal Gray, Zircon Sand, and the all-new Melting Copper. These colors offer further distinction of the CX-70 from the CX-90.
I'm personally excited about the Polymetal outside and red leather inside as a pseudo Carbon Edition. (with more equipment of course)

Don’t need the CX-70 or 90, so zipping around town in my deep crystal blue mica CX-5 Preferred. Hope one day there will be a hybrid version; I’d sell/trade in a heartbeat.

I also have the deep crystal blue mica turbo.. and have no plans to get rid of it unless MAZDA decides to bring back the '6' in a station wagon like they had several yrs ago. I have never been a SUV guy but had to get one in '21, mainly for the utility. But I've always loved station wagons (had several, including a few AUDIS) but grew tired of the expensive maintenance and up and down reliability!

You seem to be a good guy, Jon. Enjoy your channel and your efforts. Always positive. That being said, Mazda has disappointed many on 70. Even at my dealership. Should have sent the 60 to us with a few tweeks. Now we are left Waiting for the massive lease deals on these and the 90’s or maybe a 20% off msrp deal (at 10 now). The economy is getting ready to crater 1929 style. It’s going to be a rough 2 years upcoming (which I believe is the real reason they didn’t invest more in the 70). Wishing you the best going forward.

I may be the only one that thinks this but I don’t believe the 60 would have sold better than the 70. The 60 is essentially a compact crossover only being an inch longer and wider than the 50. And adding the inline 6 and the PHEV would have put its pricing in luxury territory. And we’ve seen when mainline brands are priced similar to luxury, consumers will always choose luxury.

@@DeadAir21 you could very well be right. But could you imagine that with the 6 turbo? Sounds like it would make sense to replace the 5 with it when the time comes.

I agree. There is no reason to believe the 60 would sell better. The CX7 did not sell.

@@BrianTucker-lc2cc The CX7 was out during a time when crossovers weren't as popular. Now they are the most sold car in the US. You bet the CX-60 would cater to a larger audience than what the CX-70 is now. There's a reason the cx-5 is the most sold car. It's nimble yet its spacious enough for most people. Adding the new powertrain with better mpg and power would most certainly be a popular choice.

Put a deposit on a Turbo S, Melting Copper last week, the only one I could find in Central Florida. Would have preferred the red interior but could not find one in a Copper vehicle Didn't want to wait any longer for a red interior

Jonathan, I have priced the CX-70 Premium Plus, and I think it’s a decent value, considering the price of cars these days. But I prefer the wheels that happen to be on the PHEV. I know that the wheels on the PHEV are probably designed for fuel economy. So, let’s say these wheels were on a non-PHEV, is there any scenario in which a dealer might swap them for me, considering they are the same size?

Where do you think the 2025 cx-90 fits in to the timeline? Interested to see if they just match features and trims with the 70 or introduce more new features.

I am surprised the US is behind Canada on CX-70 deliveries. The PHEV has been here for a month now and the Inline 6 about 2 weeks ago. I have my Black PHEV with a Red interior GT on order and expecting it here by mid July

I did not notice a date but just read a writeup on a CX90 4 cylinder PHEV. Showed a lot of room at the front of engine. May have been the Car Care Nut.

Jonathan, my market seems to have an extreme lack of CX-70 PHEVs with the tow package. I’ve seen one on 200+ inbound vehicles. Are you seeing the same thing? Surprising considering how they are marketing the vehicle.

IMHO way overpriced. I was interested in the cx70 on paper for a long time, then Mazda dragged their feet. Then they didn’t actually build anything new but just a tweaked a cx90. I ended up with a CRV 2024 hybrid …much less money, great interior and handling, great mileage, and lighter . Win. Win. Win

I ordered on April 18th, 2024 the 2025 CX70 red turbo s premium plus with Ambiance, Premier Tow, Digital Rearview Mirror and Body Color splash Guards, front and rear. 5-9-2024 Got my VIN, Window sticker. On the water now. Could not get 3 person seating in second row in the CX90 top trim. I am only losing 1 person seating from my 2020 CX9 signature and gain a lot of cargo space. I like the red interior but that is not available in the S Turbo Premium Plus. Do you think my car is on the mid June dealer shipment?

Congratulations! I would think it would be arriving at the port in the next week or two, which would put it arriving mid June. Your dealer can give you more exact dates. You can also call Mazda Experience line with the VIN.

How can we buy or "secure" one if no one drove it yet, no test drives results are out ??? I hope that delay of release was due to Mazda working out transmission and electric assist motor issues and jerky, slow hick ups at the start up acceleration that is delayed and slows down the CX90 by at least a second to 60. Mazda needs to get it right and I really hope redesign to be right up to Mazdas high standards. It is a reason I wait for 2025 CX90 and CX70 than if issues are fixed and based on better incentives pick either 90 or 70. Also base engine in CX90 pulls very weak 280hp from huge 3.3l inline6 , Mazda plays politics to "promote" sales of TurboS so it purposely weakens 3.3 base turbo and does not allow it to gain power with premium gas !!! To me it is a deal breaker , premium gas like Shell93 not only gains power and fuel economy but most importantly contains heavy detergent and additive pack for injectors cleaning and that is critical for power performance and fuel economy and by forcing us to 87 octanes we not only can not have extra 30hp and lower torque power band but will have to run performance turbo engine on regular fuel as high quality 93 octanes may not be burned efficiently due to engine not being set up for it . This is a blunder from Mazda . New Chevy 2.5t inline 4 traverse has 330hp and 340tq from one and only base engine for less than CX90 .

So you don't mind paying up to a dollar more a gallon for premium gas? I was hoping the online 6 would use regular gas.

@@apaulmuller503 it is fine for it to use 87 but it should also allow to use 93 and gain power and torque as all other Mazda turbo cars do.

Red interior does not go well with these two colors, would prefer white interior for melting copper and/or Zircon Sand as exterior colors. Until Mazda offers that option, I will wait. Also, the 'M' azda logo and trim name 'CX70' should be blacked out as well.

red interior should go well with Zircon... at least on paper. because it's essentially beige on red... and red exterior always pairs well with a beige interior... so why not the inversion?
