I was there too - along with three friends. This was my 4th Queen concert, saw them in '75, '77 '& 79 at the Glasgow Apollo and this one at Knebworth. Queen were brilliant, as they always were. Looking back, I know how lucky we were, to witness Freddie entertaining the crowd for the last time. You may be gone now Freddie, but you'll never be forgotten. 👍👍😊😊
I was there for the Crazy Tour in 1979 too - at the NEC. Saw them again in 1980, 84 and 86 (twice). So, so lucky and privileged to have seen them at their very, very best 🙂. I was at the 92 tribute too. That was an emotional rollercoaster of a day! @@waysidetavern
I loved Freddie. One of my favorite stories about him is that in an interview he was asked why he didn’t fix his teeth. He answered “Because I live in England and don’t want to stand out.” 😆😂🤣😆
I worked for Macy's. We shut the store down after closing and re-opened for the band to shop, what a fun and exciting night to meet the real guys as they really are/ were.
My husband of 54yrs died of brain cancer this past year/he knew his physical time on earth was coming to an end, but enjoyed every moment as Freddy did,& thank you for the music!
Dear Sally, I´m SO sad that your beloved husband had to pass away much tooo soon from you and this earth; my own cherished and so much adored father died from lymphatic cancer many years ago in 1997, and I swear, I still MISS HIM LIKE MAD........ !!!! My father, too, was always SO WELL aware of life and enjoyed every and any bird that sang in the trees till his last moments !! I wish to give you a BIG HUG "over there" ! Achim from Munich / Bavaria / Germany
I love Queen! They are my all time favorite band ever. I have been fan since the mid 1970s. I was blessed to have seen them twice in concert (Halloween 1978 and August 6, 1981). RIP Freddie
I was there very lucky as my brother got the tickets and he said there was only a couple of thousand tickets left . What a concert as Freddie sounded better live than on CD, Type or viynal . Also years before that a friend of mine at school in Rhyl got to see him at the Liverpool Empire the night before for the 7 Seas of Rye tour and he got splashed with champagne from Freddie . As he went to school the next day and he nearly got sent home from smelling of Champagne as he never had a wash or shower . Freddie you were the best ever showman that ever lived and nobody will never ever sing like you or do what you did for the music industry . R.I.P the greatest Freddie Mercury.
I was there too,I can not say what is was like watching the helicopter flying over Knebworth house, knowing I was going to watch Queen play, I still have my It's a kind of magic yellow shirt. Best day of my life practically, seeing my Freddie .❤
Freddie was a legend!!! He like to live, but that was to mutch shows and tours... Together we have partys and Freddie have mutch power! Wonderfull this Men
I have to say, that this was the greatest ( and I've seen some of the greatest bands and solo artists in the world ) live gig I have ever had the privilege to have been at. Sadly, it was the last concert of the late great Freddie Mercury. An amazing gig with the support of 'Big Country' and 'Status Quo', a day I will cherish and never forget.
And don't forget belouis some... she lit a cigarette both hands behind her back ....... I was there. Couldnt get to Newcastle gig cos of holiday .so was damn sure not going to miss this last one of the tour. In heart of hearts never thought it would be their final ever show together. 💔
@@jarestx Whoopee!! ... i worked on the Belouis Some video "Imagination" & was back stage that day as a good friend of mine had been John Deacons right hand man on tour & security for Queen. ... RIP Wally the man was a legend!
From 1977 - 1982 I saw Queen live 4 times - 3 times in Vancouver and once in Seattle. Amazing memories. There was no one more captivating on stage than Freddie!
I was at a show in Philly, 1978 or so. The Philly cops were notorious for disliking rock concerts, with good cause...we could be a handful us Philly people. After the show as we all left the Spectrum I heard a cop say to other cops "That was a good show!" and the other cops agreed. Great band and an audience that respected the effort. We Will Rock You, the entire place shook as we stomped our feet, literally shook.
I was only 14 at this time. Oh, how I WISH I knew and understood Freddie had (STILL has) the BEST voice of ever, and what he was going through, and this was his last time on stage. Id give ANYTHING have seen him perform. Those who have, have won my undying jeslousy. ❤😊
Saw them 9 times! Still have the drumsticks I caught at the end of a show, Caught a carnation Freddie threw at two concerts too. Do I have your jealousy?! Still love these videos and watch a few a week
@@grande-bretagnenilpoints8912 YES you have my undying jealousy...and admiration you went and saw them that many times!!! Treasure those things you got from those concerts. That is freaking AWESOME!!!
I'm mad with jelousy in 2024. Never saw them in person but I can imagine what a treat to see Freddie and his band mates making their ❤️ beautiful music as are the rest of the group. I know Bri.Roger are still around but John has long retired! As for Freddie, he'll never forgotten by me and the rest of his😁fans. Queen music is still being played. It never gets old and it brought fame and fortune to four special musicians. May you continue to rest in peace!
"In the Loving arm's of the Angel's Beautiful Freddie" a Soul so Beautiful, kind, Caring, even sexy. Love and kindest thoughts to all Freddie's Band members, Freddie's family, the Soul's out there that ADORED this Beautiful Soul Freddie Mercury ❤❤❤🕯🎤🙏😢
A llama of you who’ve seen Queen live,I am jealous of you. I still love Freddy and the entire band. All great artists. I pray they are around for a long time. Their music will be,that’s for sure.
They were so much bigger than any act today. Playing Knebworth, _plus_ three nights at Wembley Stadium, _plus_ Maine Road in the same tour. And that's just England! That's the power of actual good music as opposed to hype.
Saw them 3 times in Cleveland, Ohio and was completely blown away each time. God rest such a beautiful soul...I have the full concert on DVD and it is amazing.
I was 9, my uncle was playing A Night at the Opera. When Bohemian Rhapsody played I was blown away at the changes in tempo. Rock, opera, elements. My first concert 11 February 1977, I was 11, Queen with Thin Lizzy at Philadelphia Civic Center. Amazing, incredible. Both in 1978 and 1979, Queen again. Freddie knew how to capture his audience. Best showman ever! REST IN PEACE MR FAROK BULSARA
I snuck in the queen/thin lizzy at the civic center in 1977. We would go around the back where the zamboni went in and out when the Philadelphia firebirds hockey team played there. The gate seemed to be always open 😇. Miss that place
I was at the Slane gig in Ireland a few weeks before this, my one and only main concert gig to ever go to when I was 24. what a one to pick. it was truly a kind of magic!
Actually Freddie's last live performance was on the 8th of october 1988, doing "Barcelona" along with some other songs from the album together with Montserrat Cabballé. After that he never ever performed to the public anymore...but although this was his last performance it sure wasn't bad, in fact some of the work he did with Montserrat was one of his best works.
My wife(then my girlfriend) saw Queen at the Forum in Los Angles in 1980. We feel very fortunate to have been able to see them. It was a KILLER show…..
Great footage thanks 🙏 Crikey! Completely forgot about 'Lap of the Gods...' 😇 - I think Freddie may've been about to go into Seven Seas of Rhye there... (Or is that the album I'm thinking of?...). Anyways, great days... 🥰
I was there with some good friends. We had no idea at the time that he was so ill 😢 it was an incredible day and one which will stay in the memories and hearts of everyone who were there for sure 😊
