I don't think it would have been realistic for Wille to step down in S1, because the season ended in mid December and Erik died in November so it was literally just a month after his death and Wille was determined to honor his legacy. It needed August's revelation about Erik for Wille to see that Erik wasn't perfect and that Erik was as lost and not really happy. So it really took that for Wille to understand that it's ok to go his own way.

This final episode was just perfect to create beautiful closure between all main characters, and it was beautiful

The way Wille looks so YOUNG at the end like the weight of the world is finally off his shoulders, he’s happy and free, his hair is a little messy, it’s just PERFECT.

Love that they've said throughout the show that being a royal is 'a privilege, not a punishment' and it ends up being the ultimate punishment for August.

I said it in another comment section and I'll keep saying it because it's true. What absolutely kills me is when Wilhelm and Simon stop kissing at the end when Felice and Sara interupt them to ask if he is going with them, Wilhelm looks so much younger. He genuinely looks like the weight of the world has been ripped from his shoulders and looks like a happy teenager rather than a teenager having to act like a grown man.

IT BROKE US ALL😭😭😭😭😩 The sunrise scene is something magical, this episode makes me cry every timeeee... Love it. There's also a movie with the making process of yr called "young royals forever", after watching it I realized how much love, hard work, feelings are put into this show, that made Young Royals even more precious for me Sorry for my English ❤

I love how much you celebrated Sara. To be honest I never really cared that much about her, but in the finale she won my heart. Especially that scene where she says that her feelings for Felice, Simon AND herself are more important than her feelings for August, is just not talked about enough! I don't think I've ever seen a scene where the love for a friend, sibling or oneself was portrayed as more important than romantic feelings. And I think that's such a powerful and important message. Romantic love always seems to be shown as the most important kind of love and I love love love that they showed us that there are other kinds of love that are just as important and can be all we need sometimes 💜💜💜.

This really is one of the best ways I've seen a series wrap up it's final episode. It was phenomenal, and I honestly thought they wouldn't go this direction.

The owls at the end about killed me. 😂 But at least then I was crying from laughing. 😅 This reaction was everything. All of it. Agreed with literally everything you said. ❤

I think closing the school was such a big thing cause they literally lived there. It was their whole life and the community was like a family to them. When te school closed they knew they would move across sweden and might not see each other for like years. It is sad...but it was for a good reason.

A show that finally gave us the ending we wanted. It was perfect. You did good…I was bawling my eyes out!

This show absolutely sticks the landing. I can believe that this was the endgame that Lisa was heading toward the whole time, even though we often couldn’t see how they would get there. It helps that not only did you have strong writing and direction, but incredible performances, particularly by the five main actors. So many things come full circle at the end here, and not just Wille looking at the camera at the end. It just now occurred to me and watching this that Wille says “I love you” to Simon end of the first season, Simon says it to Wille at the end of the second season, and finally the two of them say it to each other at the end of the third season.

After the line “have a good summer” I was ready to get a ticket to Sweden and fix their relationship myself lol

Watched the Young Royals Forever special and I was mindblown to see them switch into these intense feelings. They are so young and yet so damn talented and intense in their delivery. And the fact they actually improvised so much of the most intense scenes through the show like the one at the lake shore is just another proof of how well they know their characters and craft.

Felice and Sarah’s conversation at the party was when I started crying. Both of their storylines were so good this season.

Young Royals falls between the candyfloss kiddish Heartstopper and the balls to the wall ELITE in terms of the whole depiction. It is believable given the premise (and YES I've been with someone who was in the pubilc eye and LAWD were those tough years). Wille was born into the royal family and that comes with certain expectations and it isn't as easy as saying NOPE and moving on along. They concluded it beautifully and that's heartwarming. It is and shall forever remain SPECIAL 😪😔🥰

Felice Navidad will always make me cackle

Love what you said about August, how we empathize with him more now so it makes him getting the throne a more complicated, interesting ending. He doesn’t really deserve his happy ending, which would have been to be with Sarah, but we still feel for him a bit now, which is really good writing. This is a beautiful, overall happy ending, but not one that’s tied with a neat little ribbon. It’s more complicated that that, and that’s my favorite kind of happy ending, because it feels more real and makes all the beautiful, happy stuff even happier

Been here since the start Young Royals with you, it absolutely kills me that this is the end of the show. I have some comfort in the fact that Simon and Wille’s story will never be finished, it will go on but in our imagination. Thank you Brad, lots of love 💕

This episode made me go through ALL the emotions. Beautiful end to this show. Also, August's story was perfect in my opinion. Being king is a huge responsibility that he now can shoulder as he learns and grows. Vincent and the others will never take responsibility and make amends, but August will have to, and be a better person for it.

Simons song for wille and the choir also singing his song absolutely broke me I was sobbing uncontrollably through that whole thing😭

Even though I generally hate Hollywood happy endings, I am so glad it ended this way. Seeing the car drive away was breaking my heart.

I think this ending was perfect, I couldn’t have asked for anything better and it did make all the shit they put us through in this show worth it. On a side note while I was already emotional watching the finale, when the choir started singing Simon’s version of the school song , it got me. I completely did not expect that at all, I was literally more shocked than Simon. I think what really touched me about it was that I feel that was the first time the kids at that school ever did anything nice for Simon, and after all the shit he went through in the series and this season specifically it hit hard.

This season was so beautifully written and this show is one of the best written in my opinion. I love how everyone got what they needed even if that’s not good. The last episode was the greatest episode in the show cos u can finally understand everyone’s point of views and everyone gets to express their feelings and emotions. I love that Wille & Simon get, if not a "happily ever after", a happy right now. Truly happy, free. And August...well, he gets redemption, he gets to stop being an appalling arsehole, but he doesn't get off scatt free. He is going to be punished by being given exactly what he has coveted for 3 seasons, Wille's place in the guilded cage. Couldn't have ended better.

I saw smt that has stuck with me since the series ended so ima share it bc it gave such a big impact to me They said that in S1-2 Willes final Look in the camera are more unsure/sad but in S3 his final look at us is Wille basically telling us that he’s gonna be fine he’s happy and it’s alright for us to leave WHICH BROKE ME so I thought I’d share it bc anytime I rewatch it I think of that every single time

I was ugly crying and screaming a lot during this finale. I had made the mistake of watching 1-5 before 6 had been released. I watched 6 the day it was available. There was so much pay off, and fucking hell, we really have been through the trenches to get here. I am happy for everyone in that car at the end. It was like a perfect, but wrinkled bowtie ending for them. They deserve happiness. I am glad that August was a little paniced seeing Wille book it and look for Simon. I think he just finally started to realize that being in the position of the royal is absolutely not a good thing. Like his "friends" said, being friends with royals is the spot to be. August finally is going to get what he wants even all the terrible things that come with it. Overall, i am sad this is over. It was an amazing series, but it had such a perfect ending. Young Royals will for sure be in my best shows list 100%. It has been a wild ride. Loved watching your reacts to it. You give some really good perspective, and it feels like we're just sitting on the couch watching it together. Now we gotta wait for heartstopper s3. Im sure thats going to be a mess too. It's the ending we all wanted but in real life, the pressure on them would not stop. The paparazzi and the media and social media attacks would continue - they would blame Simon for "taking our prince". Look at what they did to Harry and Meghan!!
