THE LAST KITT - 2008 Mustang GT/v6/KR/supersnake (not really) 

I was one of those kids that actually loved the reboot of Knight Rider, I was 13 and I remember watching the Pilot Episode of Knight Rider. I actually kept up with the series everyweek on NBC and made me love this car so much at the time. It got me so obsessed with the KR and supersnake and I actually bought a 1:18 scale model of kitt. Loved the show and watching this makes me feel nostalgic, love this car even though its a v6 lol.

Growing up as a kid, I was addicted to the new Knight Rider and the Mustang. The KITT 3000 is definitely an iconic car for me, just as KITT 2000 was an iconic car for those who grew up on the original series.

I love the orginal Knight Rider,and the one movie they made. My wife and I love the Revooted Knight Rider series, too. They could had kept it going. Make the next season for Netflix or Hulu.

You are right in that there were two "KITT"s. KITT & KARR, all others need not apply.

The 2008 Series (aka KR SG) was a continuation of the original series. Even Justin Bruening said this during an interview when filming the SG Pilot in 2007.

K.I.T.T. will ALWAYS be a trans am to me!

I watched this Knight Industries Three Thousand show but not on TV. I ordered it through Netflix as DVD mailed to me some years ago.. around 2011 I believe. I enjoyed the show and yes grew up with the old show that had David Hasslehoff, one of my favorite TV series as a kid in the 80s. Too bad this newer one wasn't as popular. It was pretty cool in my opinion. Took a little bit getting used to a Mustang but it was a cool car and actually have a 2014 Mustang myself now.

The only real KITT is the third gen Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

The black colour is iconic to both 00' and 08' Knight Rider I was introduced by the 08' and i love the transforming & features KITT have . I couldnt remember any of the plot . Would be great to see the legend return

I enjoyed the new show. I wasn't a big fan of the transformation aspect, specially because it reminded me a lot of the Viper TV show. BTW they mocked the thought of a talking car. Also I remember that at the end of the season/show finale it shows that had the show been given a 2nd season it was going to line up more with the original series. I wish NBC had given it a chance to expand on this arc.

KITT should be a black corvette because they actually have that sleek look like the Trans Am did in the 80s.

They tried re-creating Knight Rider with "Team Knight Rider." It also lasted one season... why? No Trans Am K.I.T.T., no Devin Miles, no Bonnie and no Michael. Instead we had a team with 5 vehicles (FORDS and a motor cycle thing) with A.I. and K.I.T.T. was a ball on a table in a jet. Knight Rider 2000 was the last true Knight Rider. The Dodge Stealth with the body kit on it felt more like K.I.T.T. than the Mustang in the reboot.

The real KITT and KARR (Knight Industries Two Thousand) is and always the third-generation Pontiac Firebird Trans AM.

This KITT, I Saw in person at an Auto show in Atlanta all the way back in 2008/2009. Back then it was cool to see.

Am I the only person who liked that version of Knight Rider? I watched every episode and loved it. Kinda thinking of going back and rewatching it.

I grew up with the reboot of the series and I loved it. I must have been around 11 years old and now I just rewatched the show. Some time ago I also wanted to see the OG series, but I didn't like it as much. I guess the reason why people like the old series more is, because since they mostly grew up with it so for them it has a huge nostalgic factor to it. Same goes for me, just with the new series. I remember googling for car brands with that cobra logo afte the show was finished and finding out about the Shelby Mustang. I remember telling everyone that one day I will drive this exact same car. It hasn't changed ever since and my love for Mustangs didn't stop yet and I am really looking forward to owning this car one day. However, in my opinion, they messed up the end of the series. It should have either ended after episode 12, when they defeated KARR or they should have changed some things in the following episodes. For example: As far as I can remember, in the pilot film it was said that Mike didn't know his father (turning out it was Michael aka David Hasselhoff right at the end at his mom's funeral). In the semi-last episode Mike says he is taking his days off at Sunny's, a bar his dad used to take him when he was younger. Doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, does it? Also I didn't like the fact that they used to make a huge thing about this whole Mike and Sarah romance thing in former episodes and, in the exact same episode as I just mentioned, Mike suddenly has an obvious thing going on with that blonde girl and Sarah doesn't even bother, when she used to kinda make a scene every time another female chatakter came a little closer to mike than she liked. Except that semi-last episode I really loved the reboot and I can say that it really shaped me in some kind of way. It was my favorite tv show as a kid and it is still one of my favorites. For me, KITT will always be a black Mustang and I am glad they took such an amazing car (which can be seen as a milestone in (amarican) car-culture) for the role of KITT in a revival of a series that has been playing such a big role in pop culture like Knight Rider did.

I've always said that the Knight Rider reboot would of worked with practical special effects and without the cheesy CGI. We want to see real stunts.

Loved the reboot wish they done more episodes was exactly what you wanted from a reboot, I always wonder where season 2 would of gone I was hoping to get Michael Knight and maybe the trans am . Shame it was canciled was a great show

I remember watching it back in the early youtube days before monotization and copyright. Maybe its just because i dont remember it that well, but from what can recall, the show was never that bad, i mean it wasn't as good as the original, but I dont think it was unwatchable. I guess thats because it just falls in line as one of many cable tv crime dramas from the turn of the decade, and because of that its forgettable. And if your show is about a talking futuristic car that fights crime, and its forgettable, you're doing something wrong.

Thank you for preserving my childhood. Unfortunately I never grew up in the 80's and watched the original. I grew up watching the reboot glued to the TV every new episode. As a young kid I loved the show, Looking back at the show it really did have potential if it wasn't directed by idiot kids and it's sad to see it only lasted 1 season. Plus what a shame it was only a V6... That really breaks my heart more than anything 😥 That should be a crime. I really think they should have cut money anywhere possible to get a genuine KR... What a heartbreaker. They say never meet your hero's.. I know why now 😢

I feel that the original Kitt should still be used, just upgrade the interrior, keep the Iconic car as is on the outside. That's the reason the other series didn't make it. KR fans are loyal to KITT. He was ahead of his time and still looks awesome to this day, with personality to spare also! #teampontiac

KITT was a marvel of a car in the 80's... but the Mustang KITT was just too advanced, it could transform into a monster truck and fly? Really? That was worse than putting KITT in a 57 Chevy.

I know it because I watched the show. It took a while for it to grow on me but I enjoyed it for the most part. One of the big mistakes however was to do the full-out transforming. Changing the colour or small details (like in the pilot movie) made more sense. It's my understanding that the series was much more popular in Europe, Germany in particular. I've been trying to get my hands on the DVD set but it's extremely difficult to find.

Personally, I would take both KITTs, the Pontiac for anniversary day or wedding anniversary day, birthdays, the KITT 3000 for daily driver. Both KITTs have a certain charm.

the new KR series started to hit the mark in the last 5 episodes then there was the writers strike which finally killed off the series i really did think the mustang was a great looking kitt and val kilmer as the voice was spot on, however they shouldn't of made it transform ....

IMHO next KR should be a Corvette. It's the only muscle car with front shape like a wedge to date as Viper was discontinued.

Never saw the reboot show and all I can say is that the anti gravity, transforming car parts, reconfiguring themselves under high G maneuvers is SO much more cheesy CGI than transformers ever were.

Everyone does realize that it was even said that this was a sequel to the original series, not a reboot. It was said by everyone who made the pilot movie that it was a direct sequel to the 80s show following Michael's son, and they said they didn't change anything about the original KITT. I want to know why people think that this KITT (3000) is replacing the original KITT (2000), when he's not. I love the original just like everybody else, but i also love this one cause i grew up watching it. I think its funny when people say "there is only one KITT and he's a trans am"... Well sadly that's not true, there is another and he's a Mustang. People will always love the original, but there are people that love this show even though it was cancelled, I'll admit that the pilot move definitely needed a lot of work, especially with all the characters to follow, but the tv series to me was good for a show that was trying to show some of the same heart of the original, and by the end of the cancelled series KITT (3000) was making jokes like KITT from ghe original show and was showing that he was capable of being a human like the original KITT. Sorry, I just realized I made a whole book for no reason, but hopefully people will see what I see when looking at this series.

As a real KITT fan, I'd take both KITTs, the new Ford Shelby as daily driver, and the Pontiac for weekend trips.

KITT should've been a Camaro , it even had the mailslot in the front bumper for the scanner... so basically, it was built for the role.

The show did have a lot of characters which was... too much. Lot of crazy CGI too at times. The super mode was stupid. I did enjoy KITT transforming into other Ford vehicles because it played into the stories (like the F-150 for the off road forest episodes, the crown vic as a police car, a ford fusion as a casino prize, etc.). The KARR episode was too much as well however, it was one of the better episodes without a doubt. I love this car and glad they chose it because it is simply cool. Also, I daily drive a V6 Camaro and I love it. Yes, mine is yellow...

14 years ago today, Knight Rider (2008 series) premiered!!!! This was actually my first introduction to the Knight Rider series when I was 9 YEARS OLD!!!!!!! At the time I thought it was a cool series as a kid, but it was a complete failure of a series since they only did 1 season of it! But eventually I did get introduced to the ORIGINAL SERIES OF KNIGHT RIDER!!!!!! Out of the 2 series I will obviously picked the Classic 82 to 86 version of the show Knight Rider!!!! But it was the 2008 show that got me hooked for the series!!!

KITT was a Trans Am! That's why even we who did watch Knight Rider didn't recognize KITT!

I was born in 1981 and the origanal series ran from 1982 my brother and sister grew up watching those good shows and they use to boast about knight rider one man and his car and how he would call for kitt over his watch later on when i got older i saw reboots on tv and actualy got the collection i still love that black pontiac trans am its good to rebew the old shows but the old ones is still the best

Get ur facts straight this was the 3rd KITT cuz in the made for tv movie the 2nd KITT was red with the same voice as the original show & the same actors as well with a few new actors mixed in.

I tried to give the show a chance. But the first time that mustang went into attack mode and looked like it was pieced together with the bargain bin leftovers from pepboys custom parts I couldn't. That was the worst part of the show

You have the host, the owner of the screen used car, the guy who designed the car and supposedly the Hoff all saying how crappy the new show was, and I whole heartily agree. Correction: The new Knight Rider series was not a reboot. It was a continuation. Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff) made a brief appearance at the end of the pilot movie. (His character is the father of Mike Tracer. The Michael Knight of the new series)

The movie/pilot for the new show was great. If the series had picked up where the movie left off and kept KITT the same it would have done much better. I was kinda ok with turning into the truck but attack mode sucked majorly!! And then the whole KITT - KARR transforming thing was rediculous!! I did really like KITT as the Mustang though. I think using a Camaro would have been to easy. Even being the new version. I think the Mustang was a good switch. Glad to see you are back with some vids. Hope to see some more soon!! Half assed... also describes NBC and Tonight Show with Jay Leno/ Conan O’Brien/ Jay Leno debacle at this point in time. So Transformers ruined the Camero for them, so they decided to do the same thing with their Mustang. Wise decision too.

I loved the 2008 show

The Trans Am was such a unique style of car, it worked so well for the 80s series. Opinions will likely differ to mine, but when I saw the 2008 Mustang I just thought: "No, this doesn't work." The healing factor instantly weakened the appeal of the car and transforming into other vehicles was just weird. Then the double red beams on the front looked awful to me. You can package and rebrand something as much as you want, if people are trying to cash in on an old idea, it is likely it fail.

Knight Rider just doesn't strike a chord with people anymore because it doesn't offer anything new. We have in our cars today what KITT had back in the 80s.

Great vid, bit slopping editing the last clip fading to black though fella. The show was kinda doomed as the car, all done up in 2008 didnt really advance past the cars from 2001/2003 Fast & Furious 1 & 2. The original series moved the bar so far forward of everything else. There was also a middle couple of Knight Riders before the version you talk about. A TV movie and Team KR as well fella

I actually watched all episodes of 2008 series. And to be honest, I actually enjoyed it. I mean, they got AC/DC in one of the episodes :)

Don't forget Team Knight Rider! That sucked too! Trying to be a loyal fan and support the shows I watched it and Knight 3000 and was never in any rush to see it if I wasn't home or if the VCR was full and didn't record it. Cool video on the background of the car - never knew it was a V6 nor a Shelby.

KITT will always be a 1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If they make a real movie on the big screen about Knight Rider I still hope they use the original car. The car looked futuristic back in the 80s and still does today.

Actually seen all Kitt shows and movies. So I do know this one. The original one CANT be replaced ever and is still the best. But oh well, I liked this one to.

There were 4 K.I.T.T.s used in Knight Rider. The 82 Trans Am, a 55 Chevy Bel-Air, 2002 futuristic RED Trans Am, and a 2008 Ford Mustang.

Original KITT was best as that time the car looked so different to anything else on the road, thats why it works and dont forget the HOFF
