Such a damn shame. The Czar was inexperienced but wasn't an evil man. Bloody Sunday was the military's fault not his. If they could've reformed a little we would have better relations with a Czarist Russia. RIP Romanov family.
United States Of America I agree that these executions were not justified. But it is clear that Czar Nicholas felt he owned the "divine right of kings" to rule his subjects as an autocrat with sole authority over their very lives. Had he not been so intransigent on this and perhaps more willing to consider the idea of his subjects taking part in govt affairs he and the Royal family I believe would have been spared. Who knows? In a parallel universe maybe the Romanovs would be part of a constitutional monarchy similar to Britain's. Perhaps communism doesn't catch fire, Hitler stays a corporal and who knows how many lives are spared from that time to this.
Tom Boots, the sad thing is, Lenin turned out to 100 times worse. How many people died under the communist regime? I have never understood why armies go along with dictators.
Not the daughters, That was just sick, killing the girls like they did. They were beautiful girls, even Anastasia had a funny nick name for being a young little prankster.
@@johnnyfrancia9635 lmao this isnt being a simp or not. this is a problem with humanity. does feeling for them make him a simp? u should change the way u think
He was never told a crowd wanted to meet him. Had he been informed he would have received the petition privately and there would have been no violence.
Most are from "Assassin of the Tsar" which is on youtube in its entirety for free. If you are interested in really seeing and "tasting" the imagery of the last days of the Tsar and his family, I highly recommend it, despite having a rather "supernatural" twist of people becoming other people. The other clips are from "Nicholas and Alexandra" a high-budget early 1970's film based on the Robert K Massie research.
They asked King George of England/UK to aid in granting them assaylum but were refused due to political pressure...so sad, given that King George was Nicolas' cousin.
Apparently they had sewn jewels and other valuables into their clothes. These items effectively turned their clothes into bullet proof vests making them much harder to kill.
This execution took 20 MINUTES, partly because the daughters had jewelry beneath their clothes and the guards had to finish them off with bayonets and because the guards were drunk.
if anybody I blame the Brits espically the King who was Nicholas's cousin he could have saved his cousin and his family by giving them safe passage but he pussed out because his advisors said it would UPSET relations with the Soviet Union
The West should have charged the Soviets with war crimes for the murder of the Romanovs. Under international law they were (at the very least) entitled to a trial. If only the Kolchaks had reached Ekaterinberg in time ... they might have been saved.
As far as I know, Lenin knew shortly before his death that Kolchak's liberation of the family was a matter of weeks. So the trial that was supposed to happen was dodged.
I think what is really sad is that the Romanovs were the architects of their own downfall. There murders did not have to happen If only they could have changed
im to scared to watch this. i watched once a few years ago and i was so disturbed for months on end. how can anyone in there right mind even do that to an inoscent family without even a motive. people in this world are sick!
" last minutes " ? yeah. 20 to 30 of them I think it was before that inept bunch of drunkards finally killed everyone. It wasn't an execution, it was a bar brawl with handguns, bayonets and rifle butts. Nice work Yurovsky , blowing a 21 year old girl's brains out. So proud..
How does one possibly live with yourself after committing such an inhumane, atrocious crime? I sure hope that his heart was entangled in the depths of his conscience for the rest of his days.
Most films depicting the family and their deaths due usually portray Alexei as being the last to die when in fact he wasn't. Film makers probably use this ploy for his death in order for us as the audience to hone in on more sympathy for his particular murder. Being that he was the heir, a sick boy and the youngest of his siblings. When reality the order in which the children died were as such: Olga, Tatiana, Alexei, Anastasia then finally Maria. Although, its safe to say that Alexei and Anastasia roughly died at around the same time, be it by different executioners. Alexei was killed with 3 bullets to the back head by Yakov Yurovsky (after Yurovsky broke up 3 or so men who were beating the boy) while Anastasia (similar to her sister Maria) was beaten, stabbed then finally shot through the head by Peter Ermakov. Such a vile act for these innocent children to suffer. Most films tend to gloss over this specific detail and just show the family all being shot at once which is terribly misleading and false.
+Saoirse Kavanagh yeah I hate it though it's almost as though the others are less important or something! Many are shocked when they learn it was Maria who actually died last, some even try to fight the actual historical accounts and say Alexei and Anastasia died last! It's simply not true Maria lasted so long she literally would have known in the end that everyone she loved had literally been brutally murdered! I'd love to see a movie or tv series who focuses on the girls as they are more like pretty props in films. Even though they made up the majority of the film. Imagine the Romanov dynasty started in Ipatiev house were the teenage Michael was crowned Tsar, his men swearing to protect him and his family from then on. Only to end with the screams of the teenage Maria in Ipatiev house, the descendants of the men sworn to protect either gone or taking part in the massacr ( even though most of the assassins were foreign I believe ) it's such a powerful story and it's all True!
Very difficult to watch even though it is a re-enactment and also not entirely accurate. A detailed account is featured in the comments below (author Saoirse Kavanah). May they rest in eternal peace...
📚“Maria Romanov After 17 July 1918” In a sense, the First World War was the battle of cousins. The financiers of the war decided to erase the last traces of the Russian Empire from history. They had already identified the most suitable employer to achieve their goals. Kaiser Wilhelm the second. They knew the Kaiser's weakness for Tsarina Aleksandra Fyodorovna, who was the wife of the last Russian Tsar Nicholas the second. It didn't take long for the Kaiser to find the right shooter for the job. He was Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, who was later known as Lenin. Lenin's brother Aleksandr Ulyanov was executed for the assassination of Tsar Alexander III. According to the agreements of the Kaiser and Lenin, the Tsar would be killed. The Tsar's family would be sent to the Kaiser. But Lenin did not obey the agreement, thinking that the Kaiser would betray him. The execution, which took place on July 17, 1918, at 01:00, was concluded as neither the Kaiser nor Lenin had planned. Maria and her brother Alexei were able to survive with the help of the young Prince, whom Maria had met at a prom in Romania. This book is about the lives of Maria and Alexei after July 17, 1918.
The Russian Empire (1613-1918) died with the Romanov Dynasty of Russia 🇷🇺 and may our lord Jesus Christ of the Russian Orthodox Church save their souls.
What song is this ???? I love it please someone tell me!!! And btw this is sooooo saaad!!!! :'''( if their parents did something bad they was suposed the ones the shouldve died not their kids!! Smh :'(
I am wondering what happened to the executioners when they killed all of the family including the young child who was defenseless. Were they ever put to trial or they just got away with it.
Most of them lived long lives and never showed an ounce of remorse. One of the most notorious killers a real scumbag called Ermakov is buried in Yekaterinburg and you can easily spot his gravestone as it's always getting vandalised with red paint signifying the blood of the Romanovs
@tigersclaw99 yeah in the movie yurovsky kills them to stop being a long entity and become someone in history though im not sure if that was his intention. nicholas's family were innocent but he had to be killed. he was the physical representation of what the bolsheviks goverment were to be minus his absence. by killing all of them they stopped the romanov lineage.
Why would they kill the children.if the czar did something wrong why didn't they kill him only.qhy did they had to go and kill his whole entire family.even the children?!oh my God Edit 2020: Damn, where ya'll come from. I was not expecting replies on this o.o
@@marcinbelka1868 3 years later am I was not expecting ppl to actually reply e3e And even if they were spoiled, no child should deserve death. That is a sin on my end. No matter who you are, if you kill a child, that is still a sin, regardless of what reason.... (Not just for the Romanov family either, but for EVERYBODY on earth)
I watched Assassin Of The Tsar years ago and Malcolm McDowell is a brilliant actor anyway and was great in this film I still can't believe they killed the children aswell, it's sick and disgusting. I think the best reconstruction of the Romanov murders was in The Crown People moan about the Germans but at the time they were trying to save the Romanovs but the evil and despicable Bolsheviks had other ideas We should have got them out of Russia the first chance we had, I don't know where they would have lived but they had enough money to pay for everything they needed I have been to Yekaterinburg twice, the first time I went I was thinking "this is where it all happened" and I didn't like it at first but then I realised that Yekaterinburg is actually quite a nice place now and the people are lovely
@@MarlboroughBlenheim1 Nicholas brought them into the game. He was a bad father who exposed them to that risk. He should have just accepted the throne in 1894 then immediately instituted a democratic system. But no he wanted to rule Russia with an iron fist. Half of his children were legal adults too. Even Alexei was 14, not the petite kindergartner they cast him as in these reenactments.
Dupe Account why bayonet them? It’s a particularly brutal way to be killed. A bullet in the head would have been merciful. That’s my point which you haven’t addressed.
@@MarlboroughBlenheim1 Cutting their heads off would have been more merciful than shooting them in the head. Would you have been in favor of that? You also haven't addressed my point that Nicholas II brought them into the game.
