The visuals look brilliant and I’m excited to play through it again, but I can’t justify paying $70 for a “remake” that is mostly a graphical overhaul.
@@typeclick2159 Sure, The Last of Us Part 2 is complete dog shit, but The Last of Us Part 1 is a complete passion filled masterpiece, I personally wouldn't pirate this one as I like to support passion projects. But you do you
Loved this game and excited to eventually replay it on my PS5. I do think that Sony did a disservice making this game a full $70. Pretty sure it should have been $39.99 or $49.99, maybe even a bundle with Part 1 and Part 2 for $70 (Kind of like what they did with Spider-Man and Miles Morales)
Damn Straight, clearly this is a well-made remastered but that price point is doing nothing but screaming CASH GRAB!!! Then again what do I expect from Sony, they release great first party games on consoles for a fair price then demand that same price with every remaster that is released and from every PC port despite these games being ancient comparatively speaking when this happens.
@@schemage2210 £70 is way too pricy for this game, however that doesn't define it a cash grab, its the definitive version of the game. If this was anything like the GTA trilogy definitive edition. That was a cash grab.
@@avarionuk4283 personally I think your quibbling over definitions. For instance this is by far not a definitive edition (in spite of whatever label Sony puts on the box) as this product was shipped without the multiplayer "factions" mode. Can you really call it the definitive edition if it is missing components of the original game. Further this isn't like the Mass Effect remaster that put every piece of dlc in one place, the total cost of which was many times the original purchase price of the three base games, here you are only getting the remastered game and a single piece of dlc. Whether dlc adds more to the value proposition, or marketing labels like "definitive edition", this product is still not worth a whole $70. It's just the same that God of war on steam is $75 (locally). For a 4 year old game, that is outrageously overpriced.

Regardless of how stunning they can make it look, the Last of Us on the very last days of the PS3's life cycle was outstanding and nothing can ever compare to how it hit the first time playing it
I didn’t realize this came out at the end of the PS3. I know they had an update for the PS4, like a remaster right? This isn’t a remake but more closer to TLOU2 engine and look right? I’d buy it because I’m about to get a PS5 and I haven’t had one since the PS2 so I have a ton of exclusives I have missed out and this is the perfect time to buy this one.
An amazing and gratifying moment in my life was beating this game on Grounded difficulty setting without dying one time, on my first try (not the first time ever, hell no lol. Just first Grounded try). I practiced a TON on the other difficulty settings by beating it a lot and learning everything I could by playing it. And then I tried Grounded and it was one of the most intense and heart pounding and memorable gaming experiences of my life. I'll never forget the feeling it gave me while playing it. Felt like a true survivor in a hellish dystopia lol.
Everyone should make sure to turn on the dialogue vibrations in the settings because it’s not automatically on. You can feel the pitch, volume, and frequency of all the voices, and it makes it so much better.
I hate all the gimmicks the ps5 controller has. Makes the batteries run out quick just like the PS4 controller. And they don’t even give you the option to switch out batteries
I love the TLoU and playing through this story on Part 1 feels partly like a new game. The video mentioned that speedrunners will notice a lot more when it comes to the mechanics of the game, and that is 100% true. Im finding myself relearning routes and levels because the AI, targeting, and level design has had enough done to it to force me to relearn. I play solely on grounded and lemme tell ya Pittsburgh was hell, and it was so much more fun. As a die hard TLoU fan the $70 didn't bother me too much, but not snagging a physical firefly edition did lol
Played it a million times and blast through it. I can repeat word by word cutscenes before the characters even say their lines. Jumped right on grounded and finished it too. Thank you Naughty Dog for bringing back my favorite game of all time refined and better!

For me also, I love the game but I refuse to pay for the same game “again”. Man I want some different great games to pay for not another revamp, remaster, remake.
I wish I didn’t play the remastered version earlier this year for the first time. But I’m glad I was able to get this game with a Black Friday discount sale. I really enjoy my second play through of this game. This version of the game is a must play.
Just the UI changes where it matches #TLOU2's will help make the experience more streamlined. It was weird going back to the Remaster after playing Part 2. The multi-colored button cues for the QTE's seemed a bit out of place for the games overall mood and atmosphere. The white minimalism definitely feels better...
I’m also a little disappointed that they did not integrate the combat a little more from 2. That was among the best changes they made to part 2, I realize that Joel wouldn’t be able to do some things Ellie could but yeah, a dodge button would’ve been cool. Either way I will check it out when it hits PC
I’m someone who’s playing it for the first time. I know I’m late to the party but I seem to of missed it when it first came out. I just finished the bills town chapter and I love it so far. The graphics look pretty modern and haptic feedback is awesome on my PS five. The story and characters are great but I already knew that from what I’ve heard before. The only issues I’ve seen so far are minor graphic Pop ins and sometimes the companion AI isn’t that great. Minor issues aside I highly recommend. I understand for those who already bought it twice in some cases the $70 price tag is a bit much but since it’s the first time buyer for me I felt the price is worth it. To each their own
This game looks absolutely phenomenal, and I cannot wait to play it. But $70 is kind of insane, considering that this is a remaster and doesn't even have Factions Multiplayer as the original did. I'll definitely get this when it goes on sale.
@@RyanN05 Not at all... Remasters are like those HD Collections of Tomb Raider, Prince of Persia, etc. Remakes are like Crash Bandicoot N' Sane Trilogy, Spyro, etc. Reimagines/reboots are things like FFVIIR, Resident Evil 2, etc.
@@AliciaDarky The game doesn't introduce any real new features aside from the accessibility updates, which don't impact gameplay for most players. I like the game, but at its base, it is a graphics update. This is not a "remake" it isn't fundamentally different in any way, shape, or form.
The one thing I noticed after playing the original and remastered so many times is they changed out all the metal trash cans with the big plastic ones you see today along with some environmental changes with different furniture. Other than that it’s basically the same game with better graphics and some fancy window dressing like new menu interfaces and some more detailed workbench animations. I got to play it for free because my friend let me borrow it the day he got it and I gotta say it’s super awesome jumping back in to a game I’m so fond of and seeing it look like this. Not worth 70 bucks but it is the best way to experience this game for the first time that’s for sure. Edit: for all the pressed people in the comment section the person I borrowed the game from literally lives with me and works long hours. Can’t believe with all the shit going on in the world the thing you don’t believe is somebody letting a family member play their game while they work😂
Suurreeee....your friend bought it then decided to give it to you that same day he bought it. Instead of playing it himself.......riiigghhhtttt.......not to mention INACCESSIBILITY FEATURES ARENT WINDOW DRESSING.
@@InnerRise why would i want subscribers if i don't make any content? That would be pointless, stupid and only people with too much ego would bother getting subscribers unless they're an actual creator.
One complaint I had with the original and even the remastered was that I always felt Joel looked too young for his age in the apocalypse….but here you can see the gray hairs, the wrinkles, you can see the stress in his face. He looks brooding, he looks worried…he looks like he’s waiting for a monster to pop out around the corner
You know I had never played through it myself, I watched my cousin play it back when it first released and thought it was awesome. Now all these years later, I went out and bought myself a PS3 copy of the game, and I gotta say I've been binging my way through the campaign. Fantastic game!
Honestly the remake looks a lot better than I expected. It's not just a game with better graphics. I didn't expect them to completely change how certain buildings look or change a building to something else. It's just hard for me to say a 9 year old game needs a remake and I still will say this game did not need a remake. I think most games in the ps3's later life cycle still look gorgeous and still hold up. It's weird because I still remember the original getting released and all the well known youtubers playing it.
This game is my all time, most favorite game , that I replayed many, many times over. For Sony to release this for $70 and no discount for those who already own the game just shows that they are trying to milk every penny out of their current customer base. I will absolutely not pick this up until it’s around $10 at most. This kind of treatment of Sony fans will not last long. Please rethink your business strategy.
@@cezarstefanseghjucan Bro you can find TLOU remastered for PS4 for less than $10 used...and it still holds up. Even the PS3 version imo still holds up. If you want to pay $70 for a spit shine "remastered" game then that's up to you.
@@HOLLOWFENiX I'd personally pay 40$ for it. It looks insanely better for a game that "still holds up" did you not watch the video? It still probably took them a year to remake the game with a new engine, though granted, 70-60-50 is too high. 40$ for higher fps, better graphics, one of the greatest games ever, wouldn't of been that terrible. I do agree though!
The visuals look fantastic here but would’ve been nice if the game was at least $49.99 starting out. I know PS5 games are more so being introduced at $70 but again, this game has initially been released twice before already, regardless of being more of a remake here. And thank you, Jake for this breakdown! I don’t have a PS5 yet but hoping to get one in the next year so I can experience this one again with a refreshed twist 🙏
I think 29.99 is a great price point for this game. It should have been that for launch. I guarantee almost everyone that doesn’t want to pay 70 will be willing to grab it at that price. This game deserves some money for the work it has poured into the visuals and feel, but 70 will drive most people further away imo. It’s up to us as consumers to drive the market into our favor by practicing patience and not succumb to peer pressure while these game companies make profit off our ignorance.
See this is why we can't have nice things people want them for free basically. There's a lot to consider, but def not $30 lmao maybe $50 would be acceptable
@@user-dm2po3we1g I suppose my advertising degree would argue that a 50 dollar price point is a pricing psychology nightmare in the video game industry. That price point would sell less then either the 69.99 price point or my suggested 29.99 for a remake with a pre built game engine. Clear reason is the price point suggests it’s neither worth "new game” price point of 69.99 but it’s better then a 29.99 price point of a pre used game engine. No game company would use this model and customers would not be as keen either.
$40 maybe $50 and I bet the sales would double or triple from release. Especially with very limited selection for true PS5 games being released right now. This is arguably the biggest release yet for PS5 (even though it's a "PS3" game), until God of War Ragnarok later this year. And great point that, we the consumers, must dictate the prices of these games. Blows my mind to see special editions releasing for $120-$150. Remember the old days of PS Hits for $20? Those was some good times back then...
I’ve never played the last of us. Recently picked up a ps5 but I’m holding off until it drops in price a bit. Definitely looking forward to eventually playing it but for now I’ve just been watching theradbrad play it. Once I get more storage for my ps5 cuz it only came with a measly 500gb I’ll def pick it up and play the hell out of it haha. Love the content man thanks for the video. You just got a like and a new subscriber👍
Thanks for laying it all out. I love both the original and (yes, even) Part 2 to pieces. So, I knew as soon as Part 1 was announced that I was eventually going to get it (even though I also didn't believe the ps4 version was outdated in any way). That said, I will wait until it's a tad cheaper.
Back when this game originally came out I had moved on to PC years ago because of games like WoW, but I remember viewing this game from afar thinking if I ever invest in another console this'll be on top of the list. Fast forward nearly a decade later, I still haven't touched these games once, I JUST bought a ps5 last month and now I'm finally getting to enjoy the game for the first time with this remake version.
Oh boy. I recommend back to back part 1 and then part 2. With left behind in between. What an emotionally devastating, gut punching, amazing time you’ll have.

As much as I loved the game I can't justify paying full price for this "remake", especially when it's really just a really well done remaster. It's clearly the definitive version to play if I ever feel like revisiting the game, but there has to be a price drop or sale before I even consider getting it.
@@aaqilkhan480 "rebuild from the ground up" isn't really true though. The foundation of the game is still the same, like the level layout, enemies and their locations, and the gameplay. Again, it's not like I'm not acknowledging the amount of work they put in to make it look amazing, but it's not really a remake when most of the game is still the same.
@@faboo2001 It feels wrong to just call it a remaster though. We’ve all seen what even the best remasters look like. You can’t look at the ps4 version and this one side by side and say it looks like a typical remaster.
I played the remaster for the first time about 2yrs ago too n it was pretty good, but this definitely looks like a massive step up. That said, full price $70 is insane, it should be like $50 maximum
i think it shouldve been bundled with lou2 for 70 and then the price is justified. the price for this should be $40 max just cause you can play this game for free if you have playstation plus
@02:12 I went into that water to check out the details. There is no reflection of Joel in the water and there were dots in a grid pattern on the water surface. I thought it was a strange oversight. Everything else looks good so far.
I wouldn't have minded paying 30 or 50, It is a ground up rebuild after all. Here in however Canada the game is 90 dollars. Its so hard to justify paying that for a 12-15 hour long game. That's what games cost now next gen ones at least, I'm happy to pay that for a god of war Ragnarök, a 40+ hour game ill play at least twice.
I’ve played the game twice (the last time just before pt 2 came out) and I’m looking forward to play it again when it drops in price. I feel like if you’ve purchased older versions you should get a discount at least.

I just got it a few days ago but I recently started playing TLOU2 and love it it had a really shocking moment and all. But TLOU for the ps5 looks like it's going to be fun. I loved when I first played it years ago and the story stuck with me. Can't wait to replay it after so many years.
I played 20 minutes just to check it out, wow it's easily the definitive version. From the opening scene, it's immediately noticeable how improved the graphics and presentation are. Feels more natural now having both Part 1 and Part 2 as a set. Now of course the $70 raises eyebrows, and I don't blame people for not wanting to dip in. Since this is my favorite game of all time and I have the disposable income for my hobby, it's a no-brainer.

While I never played it (I'm broke so I watched walkthroughs) the original is so nostalgic and great, and the older graphics add to that. Don't get me wrong, the remaster looks great too though. I love seeing just how far games graphics have gone in what isn't actually that many years, if you think about it.
I played it on the PS3 and I loved it It came with my PS4, and I’ve played it so much My favorite part of the game was after beating it 3 or 4 times, I put it on the easiest difficulty and just ran through the game guns blazing Def an entertaining way to play the game haha, and also a level of fun that I didn’t expect to get from the game after beating it. I highly recommend you do that if you’ve beat it. When I get a PS5 I will be buying this. I did not buy the Last of Us PT2, mostly because there was so much info and news around the game I kinda just wanted to play it without being swayed by how people feel. And if it’s not good to me, that’s cool. I won’t regret waiting, and if it’s great it will have been worth it. But. If I had a PS5 now? Especially because it came with my PS4 I would not buy it at $70. I’d wait for a sale If I get the Ps5 before it goes on sale?…I’d still wait for a sale I think
It was looking great back in 2013. And I completed this game 4 times already. I'm not gonna get sucked in again just for the visual improvements. I said the same thing back in 2013 how realistic it looks, including the facial animations, and environments, etc. I'm sticking to my principles, otherwise they make a Remake+ edition, 8 years from now and you continue the cycle.
Started playing it yesterday and it's great. I just like having part 1 and 2 now on my ps5, and they both play together like one long game, without a graphical difference between the two. The foliage has been cranked up. The lighting is different and creates entirely new moods on certain scenes. And the character models are awesome. I've played the older versions several times, and this is a whole new experience. There's a particular scene where tess gets pretty intense, and her eyes look desperate and she has one eyebrow raised higher than the other. She looked like a REAL person. And it was definitely it a facial expression that was not shown in the older versions. Price is still pretty damn high for what is essentially still a remaster. If you're on a budget, wait til this game drops to like $30. But then DEFINITELY buy it, because it is still a phenomenal game all these years later.
Yeah, I agree. I've played the opening of the game multiple times, but the ultra-realistic facial expressions of this game made that gut punch of an opening hit just as hard as it did the first time. I think this game is a must buy on a sale (or if you've never played it). I only bought it cuz I'm game sharing with my bro whose never played this game before. What a great way to experience this game for the first time
@@ramrodbldm9876 dude why are you even watching videos on game reviews when you don't even seem interested in the tech specifications of games? Really heated for no reason. You wrote that comment while drunk or something?
I know I'm probably one of the few to actually stop in abandoned, overgrown buildings in-game and take in the textures, but it really is amazing on how far they went with details. I still play on PlayStation 4, got the Remastered back in 2014 with the Grand Theft Auto Black Friday bundle, and the rotten wood, mold, broken boards, and so on are so great considering the technology at even that time. I can only hope PS5's Remake takes those textures up a huge notch.
I can’t justify spending $75 on this game after beating it so many times on the remaster. But if they included factions, i would of bought this in a heart beat. They didn’t have to change anything about it either gameplay wise. Imo the best multiplayer game ever.
This is just me but the original holds up so well that the 'remake' should have added new features such as going prone and expanded on areas a bit to change it up so fans of the original had something new. ND had the resources from both part I and II so it was certainly achievable. Still, it's one of my favourite games of all time so I will be playing at some point.
all i want out of a remake is a facelift as if it were made for the newest available gen and polish of the existing gameplay mechanics, smoothing out certain things, not adding stuff you didn't do in the original, cut content and dlc is a whole other thing that nice to have if it does exist for it
$75USD? You think that's bad? Here in Australia it's $125AUD. Just for reference games here in general aren't really that expensive like they used to be. For some reason brand new PS5 exclusives are always $125 here while normal new titles would cost roughly $80-$90 compared to the US $60-70. I don't know how many people here are actually buying these games at such a ludicrous price but I sure as hell ain't. We still get good sales so I'ma wait until this is like $40 or less a few months in.
Yeah the PSN store pricing is fixed on region and varies ALOT , here in Turkey the game is $38 , which is a perfect price for a game like this and its the same price of every new game , even pre-orders are $38. Sony really needs to rethink their pricing strategy and the PSN store as a whole , paying $85 in Australlia meanwhile the game is $38 in Turkey shouldnt be a reality , its plain unfair to Australlian gamers. I recommend getting a Turkish account/Argentinian PSN account as the pricing of all games is more than halved.
I liked the original first game, and I have not played the second yet. I have not replayed it many times like a lot of the community seems to have. I will probably pick this up, and play through it, and then pick up Part 2 and play through it as well. As far as I could tell though, it looks like they do not have a PS5 version of Part 2. I hope that is added soon.
Thinking about getting the game. But does anyone know how long it takes to finish? Also are there side quests and a overview map of a location like in assassin's creed?

I was about to preorder, but had a sinking feeling… checked online and yup, no multiplayer. I loved Last of Us 1’s story, but kept playing for over a year because of how fun the multiplayer was
Missed it the first time around-must have been a good year-but I've always been intrigued so I'll definitely have to catch this one. Maybe I'll hold off for a better price first though 😉
I have heard so much good about the Last of Us games, so i just had to get as a PS5 version for my first time experience. My expectation is mostly based on if I will feel it was worth it or if I will be enjoying myself.. I have only just begun the story so still a lot of excitement in me! 🎉
There is no "factions" which was a big part of the original! I have beaten this game countless amounts of times and I still love it as if it was my first time playing! I'm not paying 70 bucks for a game that I have already bought twice; and has less modes than the original 2! All they had to do is add factions, and I would have thrown my money at them!
There's no arguing on the amount of effort that went into the visuals. But we're essentially paying $70 only for the visuals. When I paid $60 for Elden Ring I paid $60 for the entire game design, story writing, music creation, maybe not so much gameplay cos its very dark soulsy, and visuals. $70 for JUST visuals seems too much to me
Started playing this game yesterday because of all the conversation around the new version. I had the PS4 Remaster sitting around for ages and never gave it a go. Well, I did try it once but I messed it up and never got past the first part where they were going to get the rations. Yesterday I gave it a real go (Normal mode) and was surprised. It was challenging but definitely easier than expected. I thought it would be like Resident Evil or third person shooter most of the time. The game is actually very balanced.

I just got the platinum achievement for this game. I had lots of fun and having a super high-end tv this time around is what sealed the deal. I played in “unlocked” frame rate with native 4K and I was just in awe. My LG C1 tv info kept saying it was playing at full 4k with 118-119 hz with VRR turned on so that was actually super cool. Having just finished TLOU Part I, I can say, without a doubt, this is the best version of one of the greatest games of all-time. I don't think I've ever seen character models this detailed and emotive ever in a video game (Part II included). The game feels familiar and new at the same time. Say what you will about the $70 price tag (I tend to side with the developers and think they deserve to get paid), if you don't want to pay it, that's fine. Just wait for a sale. The lack of multiplayer doesn't bother me as I never played much of it the first time anyway. The only thing I might've wished would've been added was to just make Left Behind part of the main game, organically. Other than that, fantastic job Naughty Dog, as always. Can't wait for The Last of Us Part III and whatever new IP they are cooking up (I've long hoped for Savage Starlight to be made into a game).
I can't wait to play this game, definitely buying it...when it's like $30. I never finished the remastered all the way through. Played the hell outta TLOU pt2, completed twice, platinum trophy, new game+. Wanna play it again when it gets PS5 upgrade. It'd be awesome to binge these 2 back to back when/if that happens. If they made a new multi-player of this universe, it could be the modern day CoD multi-player franchise. Potential is unlimited.
I've gotten about halfway through it and honestly it's all love for me. I'm glad that the gameplay still holds up because that's the only thing that didn't change much besides the enermy ai. I prefer the gameplay of the second but damn you just can't deny this story.
@@arsenelupin9697 well not only that but technically speaking this game is unplayable for some back when it released on ps3 and 4. With all the accessibility options they've definitely made it playable for just about everyone. Like I said all love baby.
@@hex_limpbizkit1969 Yeah, because what's really important is providing "accessibility" options for a "game" that people aren't playing for the actual gameplay anyway. Might as well just watch the cutscenes on RU-vid - doesn't get more accessible than that.
@@arsenelupin9697 I mean... you're kind of singling out people with disabilities in that statement man so I kind of can't go along with it. If you don't want to play it then just do as you said and watch it on RU-vid. But honestly I think it's impressive that were able to be so faithful to the original while also making it look like a new game. The ai is actually really improved on harder modes, that alone made me want to play it. (Also the permadeath option which isn't available in the 3 or 4 version.) Also I think you're maybe not a fan of this game if you aren't a fan of the gameplay, I could be wrong about that but I happen to really like the gameplay in last of us.
As Jake said if you've never played this and you love a story driven game then buy it it's honestly one of the most Beautiful crafted games ever made in every sense I have bought it for the third time as I love this game and seeing it and playing it with the graphics upgrade and it is a proper overhaul and as said how they've redone the facial animation enough though it was amazing on the PS3 I can truly say the the cut scene with Tess as shown in this vid is so much more powerful looking forward to getting to Bill as his character is one of the best parts of this game I'd give it 10/10 anyway but it does honestly deserve it the only problem for me is reminding me of the 7 years I waited for part 2 and that's another story!
the original game has been my favorite game ever made so when this was announced I was excited mainly for the visuals as thats a big part of most games I enjoy and the game just lived up to my hype
As crazy as it sounds, I have never fully finished the original version. Tried like twice, but you know… life. So when they announced this, I knew I had to get it on release and take this opportunity as the one where I finally take the full journey. Have been playing it since midnight on release, and man I am so happy that I get to experience this version as my first full experience of the game because it is unmatched. Naughty Dog prevails once again!
I haven't seen anyone mention if this has updated combat with both humans and infected. I recall that the DLC was the first time we had scenarios where you could play them off one another, and that became a significant part of part 2.
No updated combat! No dodge button, no "factions" (multiplayer) but they want 70 bucks for a new paint job? I wouldn't buy this game if it was $10.00, (and TLOU is one of my favorite all time series; up there with Zelda, Megaman, Street fighter, The division, DMC amd God of war etc......) so that's saying a lot!
I played the original remaster on ps4 and it was a good time! I haven't played part 2, but it is on my list. I dont think I really need to go back and buy this game again, but the visuals look really good and I can see why people would be excited to play again
By the time I get around to getting a PS5, it should be on sale and I'll check it out, then, but I'm the same. I played the remaster on PS4 and loved it. I also loved TLOU2, despite the hatred it got from the fanbase.
@@AbstractM0use Don't believe the bullshit. TLOU2 was only hated by a small group of pathetic people. The vast majority of the fan base was fully on board.
@@AbstractM0use the only hate I actually saw towards the game was more focused on the characters sexuality instead of much of anything else. I’m sure you’ll have a fantastic time.
Waited for the sale, already bought TLOU1-2 both physical and digital copies. Beat them on grounded multiple times. Just buying now to have them. Will play again lol
You read my mind.. I’m thinking if it’s a game you really like it’s always good to have a backup copy I’d say one physical and one digital.. Although I’m not the greatest player of LOU I still am a fan.. So maybe I will pick this up digitally on ps5 even owning the original masterpiece physical on ps3..
For some reason the original release was off my radar, but I played it years later as the remastered edition on PS4. I never finished the game, probably because I was playing many other games at the time, mostly online. But I remember this game having one of the best intros, it is probably still my favourite intro to a video game. I am a sucker for zombie games, with Left 4 Dead 2 being my favourite game until the day I die. I might have to buy this edition on PC so that I can finally finish it, and play the DLC.
I really hope games start hiring you as the person to be debuting the action their games have the potential for. In your brutally honest opinion, would you have been able to do the things you show off in part 1 in the OG version or remaster? I would assume no because the gameplay in those games was far clunkier
I think even $40-45 bucks would have been a reasonable ask for this... but pricing this the same as a new "triple a" release (including Sony-tax!) is a pretty big ask... particularly when the "remake" is essentially a (well done) graphical overhaul and minor AI tweaks with limited gameplay impact. I understand that they couldn't just import the new mechanics from TLoU2 and plop them down into a gameworld that wasn't designed with those new mechanics in mind... and that's fine. The game didn't "NEED" to have mechanics overhaul, but without substantial gameplay additions, this just doesn't justify it's full asking price. Maybe once the game is down to half-price, I'll pick it up. If it dropped at $40, I would have probably picked it up day one.
This was the only game I've really played in the last decade. I don't own a consol, but my ex did, and actually staying over at his place staying up til 4am playing The Last of Us was how we formed a relationship :') Good times.
I have the original disc copy of this game as well as a digital copy of the original and remastered version. I love this game and the story is one of my all time favorites. Though I would love to play this right now I refuse to pay $75 for a decade old story that I have memorized already. I will defiantly be waiting for a sale.
i had no clue about what the game play would be like but this vid id the tie braker when i get my money im gonna buy it because it looks amazing thank you so much
is the gore and body tesselation moved to this version? (I'm gonnna buy it for pc mar 3rd and the gpre system in the second game reminded me of the daus pf soldier of fortune II....how you could pickk apart someones head piece by piece, limb and joint from joint. but ya is the violence upgraded? (Why do i feel like it's fucked up for that immersion question? lol)
The Last of Us 1 & 2 are my favorite games of all time. I’ve been gaming for 30+ years. That all being said, I feel like charging full price for this game was ridiculous. I expected at the very least for the levels to be redesigned to match the gameplay from Part 2. We didn’t get any of that. I’m passing for now
I love it, gonna replay it 100 times. Definitely the best version of The Last Of Us, I wish there was a trophy for beating it on grounded though. Regarding Factions, there is a Factions mode coming out next year so keep your eyes open for that.
I wasn’t a blown away by this game when I bought a ps4 to play it. It’s not bad by any means, but for me not as amazing as I was led to believe, maybe I’ll play it on PS plus 5 years from now.
In wich order should i play the last of us games cuz i never played it before and i want to play it from the first of the storyline till the newest game can someone help?
Asking $70 for this game is an *insult* to you. The game was released for PS3. Then *RE* - released for PS4. And now, *RE* - *RE* - released for PS5. Listen.... the price for a *new* game is $60. You can't ask above the price for a new game, for a game you that have been released *TWICE* already. This is an insult to gamers
not even that but there are little to no changes whatsoever. They reselling you the same game with updated visuals and graphics. Remember when they said that they'll increase the price of their games due to how expensive they become? Well Hogwarts Legacy releases on PC for the standard price while it's 20 euros more on the ps store and that game actually is new and looks incredibly next gen. Freaking lies and people are bypassing them because tlou is so popular.
@@GRGCompletionist I will say in their defense, that the graphical upgrade looks good. But it no where near qualify them to ask $70 for a re-re-release
