I get the sense that Gypsy cares for her kids more than we realize. I get the impression she knows she may need to fight for her life one day so she keeps her kids at a distance from her not only to protect them from getting hurt, but to have others to take care of them if she doesn’t survive a fight. Loving from a distance is sometime the most strongest form of love there is.
Gypsy must have been reminded that her babies need to be watched a lot. Arroz - I truly love how you show so much of these wonderful monkeys and their babies - it makes me happy to watch the way they love their babies - it is so special - thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Wow there sure is a big difference in size between the 2 babies. You can sure tell which one gets taken care of better. Kailey is all skin and bones and Bubby looks so much healthier Actually Bubby is the cutest little monkey baby I've ever seen. She is beautiful!

I just don't understand when Gypsy does feel maternal and is willing to nurse a baby, she nurses Kneely while Kailey is hungry 10 feet away. It is still a mystery to me and not one we will ever know the answer to, undoubtedly. We don't seem to have as much trouble with kidnapping in these troops in Hong Kong, especially in comparison to the other troops in Cambodia but I know it does happen. I think after it had happened to me and one of my babies, I would learn that when the kidnapper is near, I am taking my baby and moving away. I mean, I don't think Gypsy is unaware that Dy or Rudy might be interested in kidnapping her baby since they did the day before and kept the baby for so long. So why when they turn up doesn't she just leave the immediate area with her baby. I know she is low ranking and them coming to take her baby might be something she can fight about but if she moves 100 feet away, they won't even know. I am not questioning that some of the time it is likely kidnapping but a lot of the time it is just Gypsy being Gypsy. I doubt we will see Reddy leaving her baby to play a few feet away from her when next a kidnapper happens by. You are right though, they seem to survive and do well.
from a animal point of view, its survival of the fittest? maybe for her she starts them young because of her status in the group being so low. maybe she is preparing them to be as independent as possible to ensure they can survive without her, if something happened to her, they would already be use to the auntys. who knows? they are wild and not human, and because they are so similar to us we put human expectations upon them at times. maybe gypsy was raised this way. anyway, you do such a great job at capturing the dynamics of it all. i am addicted to these videos...lol...thank you for sharing and telling the stories the way you do its captivating.

Yep, I've been wrong about Gypsy before. I guess it's kind of conflicting to watch Bossy be so protective of her kids, they are always so well nourished and active, and Gypsys struggle to get fed. That is the way of troop life, like people in a way, they all have different temperaments and status. However, they manage to survive. ;)
That's something I have thought about too. She is nursing Kneely, who does not need it but Kailey is starving. So she may be connected to Kneely and not at all with Kailey.
The fact that Gypsy's whole family is still hanging around her, grooming her and looking after Kailey makes me truly believe that you are only seeing part of the picture here, possibly when Gypsy comes down to monkey hill road is when she has her freedom away from Kailey, possibly when she returns to forest she takes Kailey back. And the fact that your previous video showed Gypsy following closely behind her daughter being carried by another babysitter at the time, makes me believe what I am saying here is true. Kailey is far too active and lively for her to be completly neglected by Gypsy, so I would say Kailey and Gypsy still have a great relationship. You must remember Arroz, you don't see what goes on in the forest so you really can't judge based on what you film solely.
👍🙏👌♥️ Gypsie deserves all the support she can get, love reading your thoughts. People have many negative comments about Gypsie based on a 10-15 minutes video..I feel for her but I know that Arroz has a soft spot for her too. ♥️👌
But remember she was unable to nurse at all for days due to Rudy! She is already improving with both dehydration and malnutrition in a very short period of time and Gypsy won't let anyone near Kailey except family. That speaks volumes to me! C D I think she probably nursed during the week when Arroz was not there. But that’s just my theory. LOL wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving as well my friend. I’m celebrating my daughter’s and my birthday tonight. I get to go cook now. LOL 😂
@@kkossor ps not sure how often Arroz was going to monkey hill to video during this time period. It was definitely more than once a week during her kidnapping with Rudy. It appeared to me by Kaileys condition he was going every day or approximately every other day for a week or more but he never specified the timeline. I can only go by Kaileys condition in each video. Happy Birthday and thanks for always being so awesome!😋😍

I really feel bad for her new baby ! That older one keeps getting it's milk and it's just not fair . Just like the new baby in Amber troop Janna get sister Janet the one who's hands we're messed up, she keeps hurting baby because she's jealous if hey getting milk and Mom doesn't care really ! It's very upsetting to see but life goes both ways I guess! 🙈🙉🙊😖😬
Goodness Kailey is so skinny. I’m worried for her. Gypsy seems to have a deal with others, I’ll have them, and feed them (when it’s convenient for me), but you raise them.
Gypsy nursing Kneely while Kailey sits by just skin and bones is so sad. Hopefully soon she will be playing, foraging and learning. I'm grateful she has family to watch over her. And that BREAD, whatever she's able to get down I am grateful to Mr. Bread. ETA: I think it's important to remember some of us are not bashing Gypsy (some are but not all) but simply sad for little bub Kailey is going through. These are Monkeys after all but much like humans none of them are going to be perfect and expressed upset does not mean hate for one or the other. That is for the Cambodian audience. ♡
♥️I agree! Gypsies parenting book is different, but she still manages to raise a good family! And they all care about each other! I remember how well Dotty cared for her little brother Knotty! So sweet! A very good family, despite all outward appearances! 😚♥️♥️♥️♥️
Arroz Marisco Could you take a minute and explain. I'm a little confused when it comes to Gypsy's children. You speculated earlier that Tabby and Aggy might be Gypsy's oldest daughters. Have you learned by time they are not or do you still think there is a chance they are? When you are too close to Bubby is when Bossy puts her on a leash, stay back and she will give bubby some free rein. She knows your history with baby monkeys Arroz, Bossy aint stupid she already lost one baby and she doesn't want to lose another.
It’s sad to see Kneely sitting there all nice and plump, getting attention and milk from mom. All while baby kailey goes from babysitter to babysitter without moms love & milk. Poor baby is so malnourished. Gypsy’s parenting is definitely a mystery.
C D That’s true about Dy but Bossy’s doing this all the rime. She’s got a “Kung Fu” Grip on little Bubby. And Bossy is the Boss I don’t think even Dy would be that bold! LOL
@@kkossor Hi Kathy actually since Dy is Bossy's daughter you might be suprised what Dy will and would try to get away with. The familial link tends to blur the lines sometimes. Also Bossy only got this protective after she lost Bossy Jr. I think something traumatic happened and Bossy saw it all. Whether caused by another monkey or some sort of kidnapping or accident by a human who knows. It did have a significant effect on how she raises her babies though. This new baby is a girl which are considered very precious and a potential alpha herself in the future depending on if Bossy has more girl babies or not. If this is the last girl she has it is the automatic alpha female when Bossy passes if the baby is old enough (child bearing age). Bossy is getting to the age that she knows every girl is very important. Also remember we are only seeing a tiny amount of time when they are sitting by the road. Bossy might be completely different with her babies away from the road and humans. Bossy does have one heck of a grip though lol! Thanks for saying hi and all my best to you and yours!
Baby Kaiely seems to really love her big sister Kneely. You could clearly see that she wanted to be around Kneely instead of the older sister that was babysitting. Too bad the little girl didn't make it.
@Joe A. Gypsy has been allowing Kneely to nurse, it's been shown in video. Kailey is very much too skinny, far too skinny. I have nothing against Gypsy. She's an animal and one who's not right in the head. She does things her way. Sometimes they make sense... sometimes they don't but one thing is for sure Kailey is not eating night and day.

I agree but at least they have a sterilization program and they don't do what Cambodian Forestry Service and ASPARA did to Mila Troop with the Culling of still nursing mothers. Leaving over 15 orphans aged 3-6 months old to fend for themselves. Then they came back and did it again taking more of the adult Macaques and even a couple babies/juveniles. Creating some new orphans and taking Aunt's and older sisters that were looking out for the orphan babies with comfort and protection at night. Truly heartless when a sterilization and/or relocation program would be so much more humane. These Macaques are just too intelligent and human-like to just be culled.

I was so heartbroken. These people are so heartless. They are monsters. I'm so in raged with these people. I pray for myself. Because I have never felt so much hatred in my whole life. I don't think it is unfortunate that Dotty and Krissy are sterilized. I think that because they don't have babies of their own they have the ability to "mother" and help fill the massive void left by Gypsy. Everybody benefits. Including Gypsy.
At 11:04 it looks like Gypsy is letting Kneely nurse while Dotty grooms her and Krisy watches Kailey! Look at how Kneely's head is bobbing up and down! SMH!
Bubby is the nickname we gave my son. Never heard it used on a girl has anyone else? Anywho she is adorable. Dopey sure has gotten big. I know this may sound bad, if not horrific but I feel they should just put them to sleep instead of fixing them.
It seems like she only cares for Kaylee I don’t know about the other two the older daughters I know she must care for a baby but I just don’t get it in the baby is so so skinny she wants milk in the bed nurse so bad you could see it in her eyes this is so sad for me just like a little knotty
She is so skinny because she was kidnapped and kept by Rudy and unable to feed from Gypsy at all for numerous days! You will see that is a fact from earlier videos, sadly Arroz missed many signs of the kidnapping or didn't want to report that is what had happened but the fact are on the screen. I am not sure how caring bossy is as a mother. She seems to care as long as she let's them nurse. From what I have observe through Aarroz filming once she stops nursing she stops caring and the siblings take over. Gypsy is a fairweather mother. Not sure if the kids survived because of or in spite of her.
Gypsy sure does mother differently. She definitely protects all her kids and she does nurse kailey just enough. I think since she is low ranking and has to forage alot more then others she just doesn't have a lot of milk to give and monkey's are very smart so she probably rations her milk. She does the best she can.
Gypsy's kids may survive, but they sure do suffer as babies. It's a miracle they live till they're old enough to fend for themselves. I wonder how Gingy would have fared with a mother like Gypsy?
Is gypsy low status? I know in LTMs the higher status moms are naturally overprotective and the lower status ones are simply not allowed to be - there are glances exchanged and beatings that occur where higher females teach lower moms they do not have the right to enforce anyone from approaching or even taking her baby, especially once it's a few days to a wk old. Also in the scientific literature, they found in LTMs, the more abusive the moms are, the more overprotective they were too.
I think that Bubby will look like Bossy when she grows up....it seems that although Gypsy seems to parent differently than other mommas however she also does show favoritism towards Kneely, she even allowed Kneely to nurse in the other video. Gypsy is a complete enigma to me! I hope Kailey starts to put on some weight to start getting ready for the upcoming winter. Sending love from Ontario Canada ❤
