Elizabeth never fails to make a movie memorable. Such a talent and such a beauty. It surprises me that the credits say "gowns by..." a special category separate from the rest. Glamor.
What a complete surprise! A most enjoyable twist-turning adventure in a family's history during a significant historical time war/post WW2. This film was an emotional roller coaster ride done superbly bringing laughter, tears, and pure happiness and joy. Just another beautifully produced and directed classic which I never knew existed. A perfect ten!
Watching this film is like walking down memory lane. We were in SF at the parking garage of the St. Francis Hotel when my mom just about swooned after Van Johnson walked by. Made my young adult self laugh. Thinking about that moment makes me smile. 😊
This is one of my favorite films!!! My husband loved Elizabeth! He made me watch this film. I appreciate I know fine art. 🩷 this is a masterpiece. Such amazing actors!

This movie is a great love story and emotional tear jerker. Two people that love each other but just cannot get it on track. Van Johnson and Elizabeth Taylor exude bigger than life talent , crying big tears at the end. Really Good Movie.🥲🥲🥲
Despite the star cast and wonderful locations I really had a hard time getting into this movie. It took me three days to watch it. The ending was wonderfully tender, I loved it ❤

Играют отвратительно .Причем оба.она-бесконечной глупой и тупой улыбкой,он-с наклеенными ресницами,мешающими изображать хоть какие то проявления человечности .Режиссер-нулевой.остановилась на первой части ,то есть на 10-й минуте..Даже не верится ,что потом будет фильм "Кто боится Вирджинии Вульф".Да ?)))

I agree! The plots then did not rely on graphic sex, gore, and that sort of thing. Our imaginations were tickled and we love the stories the old movies told us. Sadly we are rarely given anything creative and good to watch now.
Cuando me siento triste , me refugio en mi religion preferidad "los clasicos inolvidables de holliwood"...esos angeles femeninos de las peliculas clasicas de los años 30, 40, 50 y 60 del siglo XX son maravillosas...!!!
Esas peliculas son inigualables...las de este tiempo son muchas de ellas hermosas, pero compararlas con el cine clasico de la epoca dorada de holliwood es imposible...esas peliculas del ayer eran hermosas , eran extraordinarias y esteticamente insuperables...!!!

Tks for this old classic film I forgot. Made me remember my childy period in an american environment... In east of franxe. And I loved this old Parisian mood too which disapeared slowly in the 70ties. I spent 12 years just behind the Eiffel Tower. Now I dislike modern Paris. Elisabeth Taylor is one of my favorite actress.
