In the Manhunt 2 build some things to note 1. The cutscenes are now in game instead of pre rendered videos. 2. In Ghosts there's a cut mechanic of using a flashlight properly to find the syringe instead of just Opening the boxes, you can toggle the flashlight too. 3. Level design and item placement seems to be closer to the final ps2/psp build then the pc version indicating the pc version changes weren't some censorship thing potentially.
Manhunt will always be one of Rockstars underrated masterpieces. The first game was legit scary in like a primal way, and it wasn't even really a "horror" game.
Thanks for featuring my videos! It's an honor. I loved the Iceberg, and it's been thrilling to document the 0.01 build! I do hope that earlier builds surface someday. I'd love to see the original context for that cutscene of Leo in a wheelchair.
I first played this game in 2018 when I was 16, now I'm turing 22 and I still think about this game so much and I'm still tryna get plat for it on ps4 😂😢
Certain games really were only possible to be created during certain eras and I'M very glad they committed to taking risks and making these unique games at these unique times
I love how in the prototype version of Manhunt 2, you can see how similar Leo looks to Danny, foreshadowing that they are technically the same person. But at the same time, it could have been a prototype model. Or originally they were supposed to be brothers? Lots of theories could be made just from that alone.
Been waiting for a bigger creator to make a vid on this, feels like a lot of the usual people who cover stuff like this have been ignoring it or somehow wasn’t made aware
Oh when the Danny Lamb comes marching in! Oh when the Danny comes marching in. Oh yes I want to be in that number when the Danny Lamb comes marching in.
Good hell. The execution animations for both games still hold up to a terrifying degree. They're so aggressive and brutal they make Mortal Kombat's fatalities look toned down. Man, if this franchise hadn't put Rockstar on a government watchlist we definitely would've gotten a new game by now. Such a great franchise.
The Director’s voice in the prototype sounds like the same voice from San Andreas that says “prepared to be vaporized” in the mission where you steal the hydra for Mike Torino
Honestly the unused menu looks like a reporter going through old reports trying to figure out how the events of the story went down and the lack of music brings a very uncanny feeling
I have been on a Manhunt nostalgia streak for the past few days, re-watching old Manhunt iceberg and beta videos, and now sourcebrew uploads a new video on Manhunt cut and leaked content?, fantastic!, so glad to see that such a niche and "forgotten" game still has a vibrant community til this day!
I used to play the original Manhunt with a group of friends whenever we’d have parties at their apartment. The only requirement was having the microphone plugged in. It was hilarious to see one person trying to be sneaky and quiet while everyone else made noise.
I'm with you and prefer the final James Earl Cash model too. The tank top in the beta version doesn't fit the narrative, the guy was just given sedatives to fake an execution so he should still be wearing clothes from the facility. It's not like he was at a minimum security facility where they allow inmates to wear outside clothing, he was on death row where they'd have him in something easily identifiable. Not like Starkweather would have set aside some clothes then dressed him while he was unconscious lol
I want to see someone make some sort of spiritual successor to Manhunt because I doubt Rockstar is gonna make another one since they now spent their time on RDR and GTA
I kinda like the original look and atmosphere it seems much more desolate and scarier, even some areas seem to be more of a complete arena and little society like a black market almost rather than just abandoned parts of the city with street trash
Few thoughts. I like the cutesy weasel. It contrasts surprisingly well with the overall dark and grim game's feel. Wish they found a way to keep that image somehow. IIRC The Project was associated with the government at some point (and most likely CIA) originally but were cut off, at least on official level, hence their need for funding from corrupt businessmen like the one killed in the starter cutscene of Assassination. The newspaper reminds me of a cardboard tube from Hitman Contracts. Also a very lethal joke weapon.
I know this channel covers a lot of lost media I don’t have Reddit I thought I would leave this here I remember being in middle school this was pre covid I was watching a recorded episode of Gumball and when the episode ended adult swim started and after the bumpers the actual adult swim show started I remember it was animated similar look to king of the hill and aqua teen hunger force it was a parody of a generic sitcom from the 80s or 70s as it was the intro showing all the different characters with a song in the background I don’t remember the song but I remember after 3 - 4 characters of the family where shown a mantis with a flamethrower was shown he was also yelling which was different as the other characters didn’t speak right after his spot in the intro the recording ended this stuck with me for awhile as I always thought it was funny but I just don’t know what it was
Awesome video and this versions are the beta from manhunt 1 and manhunt 2 are awesome i wish to see if rockstar will remake manhunt 1 and 2 or they dont have the power to make a remake of this 2 games even beta both games are masterpieces
@@GabenRayyyy this is not sarcasm. It's a dumb thing kids keep parroting under comment sections like they are some kind of npc's. Why do you do it? I am genuinely asking. Why do you people keep repeating these same dumb "jokes" under every video I watch? It's not funny, it's stupid. It's not even a joke...
@@dyykkarifin2454 okay buddy, you need to sit & calm down. It's a literal joke with the channel, Sourcebrew even stated himself. You must be new to his channel, or socials period!
