Alex Caruso is the Naruto of the NBA. He’s the underdog Everyone overlooked. But his hard work and determination is what has made him the thing of legends. And he’s got a bad ass headband.

Alex has been my favorite player on this team. Total hustle, high IQ, defense minded player we totally needed to complement this roster. So hyped!

Caruso is my fav because he rarely makes mistakes and he literally DRAGS the team along in his slipstream of energy

Great video. You forgot to mention an important point about Caruso: The guy knows his role! Since he's not one of the top scorers on the team, his job is hold the ball and look for Lavine, DeRozan and open shooters. He'll only take 5-6 shots a game. Many young players will look for their own shots. Caruso is a just winning player.

Alex Caruso continues to prove his worth night in and night out. Helps Bulls establish an identity. Significant signing to say the least. Another significant (re)signing was Javonte Green. Although he’s primarily played out of position, he still makes contributions to the effort and energy of the Bulls. Kudos to the FO for bringing him back and bringing in Caruso.

Personally I think he's the best role player in the league atm. He also makes his teammates better. He brings the hustle and inspires his team to step up. Love watching him play!

It’s the energy with this guy. Even in the time when Caruso is on the bench, when he’s playing the energy just looks different than the couple games we’ve had so far when he doesn’t.

Fun video! I watched him his whole career at Texas A&M. I think he still is the all-time steals leader (if not, it felt like it). His assist/TO ratio was always outstanding. He was never the best player on the court, that was usually Danuel House, but he ran the show on offense and defense. Absolute floor general and would always throw down an unexpectant dunk.

Long time Laker fan here. I was really disappointed when we let Caruso get away. He's a fun player who provides a lot of value, just like you said, and he's still got room to grow on offense. At the end of 2018-19 when Lebron was injured and the Lakers were awful, they just ran out the bench guys and let them play every game. Caruso looked fantastic (this was where his 32 point game came in) as the primary point guard. Inconsistent for sure, but he looked like a real player when most fans thought he was just a bad, low-skill guy at the end of the bench. The next year he started games in the finals and was an important piece of a title winner. And then we couldn't pay him $9M/year to stay :-(. I think there's a good chance he makes an all-defense team this year even though he still typically comes off the bench. The only players I know to do that are Michael Cooper (Lakers) and Dennis Rodman (Pistons). Our loss is your gain, I guess. Edit: let's be real here - he's a scrappy white guy with thinning hair who throws down the occasional highlight dunk, and he's not an arrogant jerk in public. He was always going to be a fan favorite. Also, I'm not sure where you're getting the "doesn't have the size to play in the NBA" bit from - he's 6'5" and clearly athletic. Sure, he's visibly fitter and stronger now than when he came in, but he never looked like he didn't belong.

man i love a good underdog story. I've been seeing caruso show up in a lot of random nba vids on my feed and ALWAYS skipped them because I thought it was another Scalabrine meme thing going on. Now I see "caruso" in the title and I instantly click. You can tell this dude takes nothing for granted and puts his whole heart into it. I don't really watch the NBA though tbh, but I love watching content creators make videos about the NBA for some reason. The character progression I see from these videos is like watching a good show with good character development.

Some people might think this is ridiculous but Alex Caruso is the reason I started watching the NBA. I live in England so wasn't really brought up on basketball but after seeing the whole AC story on RU-vid and all the memes etc I now follow everything he does and am a supporter of the Bulls.
