Oh my god, I played legend of dragon when I was a kid. I spent years trying to find it but not knowing the name or what Japan was made that pretty difficult in the early internet before giving up. Straight up memory unlocked moment, thank you Pokey I installed it immediately

LotD... loved so much about it. But couldnt get through it. Battles are waaaaaaay too slow. Omega Boost is dope, But I remember getting so salty at... level 5 I think? Never finished it.

Omega Boost can be a bit of a ball buster until you memorize what's been catching you off guard.

I never played either of these, but I heard of LoD. I have watched VOTOMS and think that the original series is king. Don't watch any spin offs, movies, or sequels frankly.

Agreed that original VOTOMS is the best, though I also love Mellowlink, Last Red Shoulder, Big Battle and Origin of Ambition. Brilliant Shining Heresy is gorgeous and I love the skirmishes, but I feel increasingly jilted by its writing. Case; Irvine and VOTOMS Finder are kinda whatever, Phantom Arc didn't need to exist. Alone Again was as good of a direct sequel to BSH as you can get but that's not saying much. I'm quite fond of Pailsen Files even though I'm not fond of how poorly the CG AT's interact with the hand-drawn characters. Honestly the biggest issue to me is that VOTOMS has a rich setting in terms of lore and logic (elaborated in supplementary written material) but it never strays far from Chirico's skirt. Even Mellowlink clings close to numerous events from the original show.
