As you may've noticed some games aren't included, specifically Four Swords, Hyrule Warriors and Tri Force Heroes. That's because those games don't have any overworld themes.

Breath of the Wild is finally out and it's now my favourite Zelda game and maybe my all time favourite game. But the Spirit Tracks overworld theme is still the best one!

For me, A Link to the Past is the one I always think of when thinking about the overworld theme. Which is weird because I never grew up with that game, I was more an Ocarina and Majora's Mask person but LttP is just the most natural and recognizable one to me.

Its because its cemented the concept of remixing the original overworld theme. They rewrote the song in the Adventure of Link and...well...it sucked ass. So back to the original formula!

i'm a kid from the 2000's so i didn't grow up with lttp either, not even with oot, but lttp is the one that sounds the most natural when i talk about averworld theme

It also sounds the most "iconic" to me. But when it comes to feelings evoked, OoT still is my jam (mostly because it's what I played for many, many hours as a child).

The BOTW one is so interesting, because I think in-game they actually have each of the individual piano flutters mapped to randomized timing generators, or whatever you’d call it. And hearing a sort of “official ost” version of it feels so different from how it feels when you hear each of the little parts in-game.

right!?! That game is SEVERELY underrated. It won a best game of the year award! Twilight Princess was the first Zelda game I ever completed. The music and sound design in that game are fantastic. All the side characters ROCK, and the animation style is so unique and totally laid the ground work for a new age of Zelda games.

@@Plexplay Ok. I'm sorry but I'm going to have to disagree on that one. I played Twilight princess for like, 10 hours straight and wasn't even bored to the slightest. It's such an amazing game with an awesome soundtrack. I'm yet to play windwaker and a few other zelda games, but I personally like the animation style Nintendo used for Twilight Princess. Botw is good, but I feel that there isn't so much lead. Like, it's good and all, but everything is just small little puzzles. The divine beasts were too easy, Ganon was a joke, Korok seeds sucked and it's not my favorite. Ocarina of Time was ok for me, Majora's mask I plain felt rushed, Spirit tracks was meh, Link's awaking dx was pretty good, and A link between worlds was one of my favorites. I know I'm getting into all the details, but I love Twilight Princess and definitely don' t think it was bad compared to others.

@@Plexplay I do have to agree with you, the bugs of light were easy to defeat and some of the aspects of the game were not so great compared to other Zelda games. And not gonna lie it was easier than other Zelda games. I still think tp is my favorite, but some other Zelda games were just as good as well in my opinion. Everybody has their own opinions, no one can change that, I just liked the tp style of animation better than oot or botw. The ost in tp was my favorite of them all, but other games can compare. Zelda games all have some 'rules' to stick to, so some of the themes are the same theme but with different instruments. Also, all if not most Zelda games had something to collect, Oot being the golden skultullas, Link's awakening being the secret seashells, TP being the golden bugs, etc. Though it is my personal opinion that the korok seeds were too plentiful. In my opinion, tp probably has the best actions with a sword. None of the zelda games I have played have as good moves as tp. My favorite thing about tp was the storyline. Though it was easy, I found that the moments brung by it being a darker game gave emotions to it. I respect your opinion, this is just my own, but I'm gonna have to disagree that it's overrated.

My two favorites are majoras mask and botw. They're like polar opposites, I know, but they both fit the theme of their respective game so well and I really love them. MM's creates a sense of urgency that really completes the "you only have 3 days" feel, and BotW's feels very ambient and serene which is kind of how the whole game is supposed to feel.

I personally think no other theme felt more... empowering than LttP dark world. Which, being real, was the REAL overworld of that game. But also, thanks so much for actually understanding BotW's OST. People would probably like it even less if it were too present compared to how you actually spend most of your time in that game.

Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess are my favorite Overworld themes. Also, i'm very surprised that this video has very little views. It deserves a lot more! Dihydrogen Monoxide my first was Minish Cap . Played it when I was like 8 or 9 years old . Had no idea what I had to do so I quit it . Played it again a few years later . Got stuck and went to ALTTP . Played awesome . Got stuck and went to Minish Cap . Finished it ( I think )

Skyward Sword's Sky theme feels so triumphant and adventurous, it makes me feel like I'm actually in this adventure. Try playing it with headphones on. SS was the game I grew up on even if TP was my first Zelda game.

I dunno man, it's probably nostalgia bias but Link to the Past and Link's Awakening are my two favs along with Ocarina of time. I played Twighlight Princess when it came out and it has a a great ost, but it takes a backseat to the others I mentioned.

I always feel left out when people talk about botw's music. I thought it's soundtrack was wonderful with its motifs and calming arrangements. I loved the other soundtracks from oot, link to the past, tp, don't get me wrong, I thought they were all great too, I just like the change and the way they arranged the music with botw. I felt it was quite nice to have some quiet moments within the over world to relax.

I played original nintendo Legend of Zelda when I was 8. The original theme is, to me, quintessential, and timeless. I'm glad to see it developed and expanded and appreciated over time.

Adventure of Link does that really cool rhythmic pattern and has a nice bass line, and I think it's still quite good. It isn't as dramatic because you could get into random battles, so the drama is in the battle themes.

Too bad the game is trash. A lot of people think it gets hate for being hard, but speaking as someone who has beaten some pretty hard games, that's just not it. The problem is that it doesn't want people to like it. The bad graphics on the overworld, the repetitive soundfont, etc. Then there are people who think it gets hate for changing up Zelda's format. Well, quick life lesson guys, if you want to change a series' formula, rule #1 is YOU DO NOT DO IT ON THE SECOND GAME. But anyway it was just awkward from the get-go.

By the way this trash game set the tone for future zelda games in terms of towns, learing to use magic, face to face combat, temples/places and shodow link. This game added depth to series and link character as a hero. If zelda fans would pull their head out of their asses they would know that instead of trashing a great game cause it don't fit their closed minded view.

To some extent, yes. I absolutely hated PH and SS motion controls (I would have said TP as well, but I got that for te Wii U after my Wii broke), I just think the controls were absolutely crap. TP was okay-ish, I've seen other people play it. The motion controls look okay.

Something I gotta say about breath of the wilds music. Imagine you wake up completely forgetting everything from your past and looking around trying to process the room that you're in is familiar but you have no clue that room is indeed your bedroom. Thats botw music. As for the horse theme, it's just having to process things faster and maybe link in this case remembers his routes with zelda as they traveled together with their horses while riding in the present.
