Yoko Kurama The Legendary Bandit:First Appearance In Yu Yu Hakusho ............ Bad ass XD Anime Yu Yu Hakusho I do not own anything all rights go to there owners
That's what I loved about this show, it subverted a lot of standard anime tropes. Kurama wasn't just "the heart" of the group, or even the moral compass. He may not have been the strongest fighter, but he was the smartest, making him possibly the most dangerous one on the team.
Yea. Hiei isn’t sweet but he is more honorable and will make it painless as possible, or not kill you at all. Yusuke will beat you to a pulp, Kuwabara will usually let you go but will kill if you have to
@@accountnotusedanymore9119 Then there is Kurama who is perfectly okay with letting a particularly horrible person suffer an eternity of torture within their own mind, begging for a final death that will never come.
Ura Urashima is a perfect example as to why you should never take advantage of Kurama's trust. It WILL backfire, and he's the most sadistic member of the team. Kurama's kindness is not a weakness, it's something you don't fuck with.
Kurama is the most kind and gentle character in the show. He will give you chances to surrender and turn good, but if you don’t….he will cut you down in cold blood in a split second or damn you to an eternity of torture like he did the Elder Togoru 👀
@@philiptucker7590 True. Kurama can be kind and merciful. If he sees you as someone who is legit good, he will most likely give you a second chance. But if you harm him or his love ones, prepare to be destroyed in the most brutal way possible. I remember on the show somewhere that even Hiei admits to never wanting to go toe to toe with Kurama when angry.
What is really terrifying about Yoko Kurama is how he has so many different methods to eliminate his enemies and they all can be painful and merciless in nature
There's a subplot that many people skip over. While Kurama does love his mother because she saved him from a falling shelf, it's also because of how he treated her. He's a 500+ year old spirit, so while she was trying to raise him, he would ignore her and patronize her. He disrespected her and treated her like shit, but she loved him all the same. Part of Kurama's devotion to her is out of guilt.
I wouldn’t say guilt, more like learned compassion. Kurama loves his mother because she is who taught him love in the first place. He didn’t understand a mother’s love until he saw his own mother love his disrespectful self, the unconditional love of a mother is what opened his eyes and made him start to open his heart to compassion. The shelf incident is what opened his eyes. Guilt may be what lead kurama to learn to open up, but he did it out of his own volition and heart once he truly learned compassion. He is devoted to his mother because she loved him no matter what and opened his eyes to compassion
Kurama - A demon who turn back his demon heritage and become a human. Hiei - A demon who remain a demon. Yusuke - A human who retain his humanity but learned to embraced his demonic heritage. Kuwabara - A human who never loose his humanity.
Is it just me, or does this clip have everything? Kurama being sexy in BOTH his Youko form AND his Shuichi form, Hiei talking more than usual, weird quotes such as, "I can smell when you're lying. It makes my tree want to eat you more," and the bad guy getting his ass kicked. Every element to a perfect clip. :D
When I was a kid, Hiei was my favorite because he looked so badass. All black, the sword, the 3rd eye, the dragon. I loved everything about his character design. But when Kurama showed his true form, I was genuinely conflicted because he looked so divine and ethereal... and deadly- in white!
2020? But it's so interesting: that multiple personality merged soul thing he's got going. Shuichi gives Yoko more empathy and sensitivity, making him more likable and inviting, instead of that rogue isolated nomadic loneliness. It's inadvertently the best thing that happened to Yoko. However, Yoko gives Shuichi/Kurama IQ, power, wisdom & tact giving, him more depth and making him less weak. You'd love to see them standing on their own separately as much as they're the best fusion possible. They should also do a saga where we learn how Yoko was abled to be cornered. Gotta be a juicy story & a good villain to corner a (spirit) fox..
Well, bear in mind, while Kurama did say he was injured by a strong pursuer, he also said that he made a careless mistake, so you may be making out this fox hunter as more powerful than they actually are. Also I think until or unless we get an official name, we should call the one who defeated Kurama "Fox Hunter".
2023 and still my favorite anime character. Yoko Kurama was THAT dude. I wanted so much more of him in the show. He was so fascinating. The duality of him a Shuichi was always so intriguing. Yoko being this legendary and powerful demon who was humbled and learned compassion for a human woman. Everytime he appeared it was such a hype moment for me as a kid.
If only Yoko was for the whole dark tournament, he would have wrecked everybody inc Younger Toguro. Yoko as a high A class at least would have smoked upper B class Toguro.
He can only stay in the form in a short amount time. But yeah he is a A class demon before he merge with a human body. But at the end of the series he was already a S class along with Hei. Could have gone to super S class if they trained just like Yomi.
@@jcw034 yeah toguro was a lower class A demon and kurama in his demon form and hiei at the end of the dark tournament was an upper class b demon. When yusuke died hiei and kurama went to an A tier .
I just realized the main driving force behind Hei teaming up with Kurama is the fact that they were both A class demons reduced in power due to circumstance. Kurama reincarnating and Hei getting the Jagan eye
Then he'd be reborn as naruto's split personality. Kushina, Minato would survive, Naruto would become a child prodigy like Itachi......rather boring setup for a main character.........Sasuke would be the main character.
During my High school days, he was the most popular YuYu Hakushu character to the point that all the Photocopier vendor earned lots of money selling Kurama the fox’s photos!
I kinda wish they reanimate yu yu hakusho with new animation just like shaman king. (please don't get the wrong idea i'm "not" saying yu yu hakusho's animation is bad. all i'm trying to say is they should bring back old anime so people can like it again) (i just realized yu yu hakusho had an ova in 2018 and the animation looks amazing)
This and with karusu was the only time we got to see the true yoko. The others are just yoko body while the merged mind of souichi and kurama was in control. Here it was soley the heartless A class demon yoko kurama
Does anyone know the episode in which it shows Kurama's flashback as a child? He was climbing the cupboard and tripped and his mom got scars from it. The episode is at the tip of my tongue.
