The Legends of Arkain: The True Story 7.6 - Long Live the Queen 

This map has triggered events that can be incredibly satisfying to engage with if you're ready for the timings of them. Leadership boni is limited to Gardon or Brian here and neither matters much. I choose Pack of the Bloodclaw which only helps at the very beginning before our Cavalry option gets upgraded, but Bloodfangs do make a decent difference when assaulting the left base. As I build up a small force, I send my heroes around to kill Trolls and grab some tomes to the right of my base. The Turquoise base's production will not be active if you attack it fast enough and I found the best early timing to be right after Captain Ironside's first attack wave. Stun the Starfall with Brian or Cora then be prepared to send some units back to deal with Captain Pureheart. Cora has Avenge now and effective usage is critical as usual. When you destroy Turquoise's Castle, you will get 12 free Knights of Kome. These replace your Cavalry and it is good to delay this action until you've built more units as it will kick you into High Upkeep and over the food cap. I grabbed a Scroll of Teleportation from a crate early on because the upper right Red Guard base will defect around this point and I send my heroes, army, and a bunch of workers to help them. This base functions as a distraction meant to allow for a frontal assault and there is very little benefit to keeping them alive. Their AI also semi-shuts down and they stop building new units even if you do save them. That being said, I do it anyway and defend my new ally that risked everything to help me. The Conscripted Battalion also defects based on how many times Captains Ironside and Pureheart are killed, so you'll see me chasing them around as soon as I teleport up to the Renegade Red Guard. After both bases flip, a sort of equilibrium is found and things slightly (only slightly) calm down. My next target is the irritating Agents of the Queen faction that reinforce very quickly and can effectively stop any push into the lower left Golden Guard base with how fast they can Waygate behind your army and pick off any reinforcing units. These are spawned from an area inaccessible to ground, so I've been building Valkyries and saving up my gifted Frost Wyrms. After gritty fighting outside the Renegade Red Guard's base, I begin an offensive against the Golden Guard and sweep straight up into the Red Guard. The Agents of the Queen are gone which allows me to reinforce properly. Lady Riana is all who remains and her base is no pushover with the sheer number of Sludges her buildings spawn. She also has our Ogre Magi from Defense of Home! I get a crash at this point because that is the only thing that can stop my advance, but I persevere (aka replay the entire map off-camera) and find victory with my new allies both intact.

One of the best maps in all of arkain. Bravo for succeeding. I don't remember if Woodhunter survived. Does anyone know?
