Fun. There was a glitch I found once, I was playing as Palpatine and jumped off a cliff but at the same moment I switched to a ghost, (or it might have been the other away around) and then for the rest of the level I was Palpatine but with all the ghost abilities
This happened to my brother and I last month, on the PS2 version of Lego Star Wars II. Luke accidentally got turned into the tractor on Dagobah, but we couldn't figure out how to replicate the glitch afterwards, nor find any documentation.

No idea what glitches are or aren't known but I've got some to share. In Episode I Chapter 5 (Retake Theed Palace), the table and silverware set up that needs to be destroyed for a red brick is composed of a lot of individual objects that burst into various smoke particles and studs among others things. Somehow one time me and my brother overloaded the game or something breaking most if not all of it at once with nothing but a Jedi slam in Story mode as all of the graphics got screwed up. Everything became textureless and instead nothing but flat colors and lighting on everything. It looked like viewing something through some sort of modelling program without the textures. I'm not sure if it did but I think all sounds and music stopped playing as well. We continued through the level despite the oddity and when we reached the end the game crashed or something, because I remember we had to replay the level which I wasn't happy with because of it. (Episode I Chapter 5 is one of my least favorite levels.) The second was in Episode I Chapter 6 (Darth Maul) in the the reactor room with the Commander Battle Droids that have to be defeated to continue. We were fighting with the camera trying to pull it one way or anther, and I guess the camera had enough of our tugging because someway somehow I got snapped to the bottom of the level. And I do mean the bottom, below the platforms and even below the death barrier. The camera focused on me and the distance was great enough to force P2 to drop out, of which respawned down at the bottom with me before automatically rejoining P2 upon returning on screen. We were stuck and had to restart that level too. Both of this and the Chapter 5 thing happened during the same playthrough. I don't what we were doing to piss the game off so much but for two levels in a row we had to end up replaying them because something went horribly wrong. Next is something that's happened multiple times and that's the Episode III Chapter 3 (General Grievous) never ending. I only recall it happening during Story and it's that sometimes if I maneuvered just right using one of the explosive barrels' force path I could jump across to the cliff the path would lead it to and be able to enter the red brick room when I shouldn't be able to seeing as it's meant to be Free Play only. For whatever reason sometimes it just makes it so that the level doesn't end after getting Grievous down to zero hearts. In my most recent playthrough of TCS, while in Episode III Chapter 6 (Darth Vader), there was one point where P2 just despawned or was suddenly shifted somewhere off screen or out bounds. It was at the part right before the final lava platforming section where one player has to hold back a wall of hot smoke so the other can pass and deactivate it. I went through it as a droid and then player 2 went to do the same without becoming a droid and instead of resetting the segment after they died from it they just instantly disappeared upon the death noise playing. The stage also stopped falling apart after that which let me take all the time I wanted. Once I finished the segment and entered the next area P2 was back and the stage continued falling apart as usual, as if nothing had happened in the previous room. Later during that same playthrough while in Super Story Episode IV Chapter 4 (Rescue the Princess), I went up and took out all the Stormtroopers and Imperial Guards in a rush and ended up also unintentionally attacking Ben Kenobi from how close I got to him since he had stopped in place to deflect some of my blasts. I rushed into the next room and then he wasn't showing up at the tractor beam generator to place the bridge for me. Thinking I had somehow screwed up the NPC Ben and won myself a restart of a Super Story, I started backtracking and looking around to see if there was anyway of fixing it. After a couple laps around the accessible areas I returned to the tractor beam generator only for the bridge to be placed, despite the fact that NPC Ben had completely disappeared after I had hastily blasted and rushed to that area. I have no idea what happened or if NPC Ben was even still active or somehow died or despawned because of how I stalled him while rushing, but either he somehow got off track or respawned and eventually took care of the bridge while I wasn't there or the game had a failsafe that activated, toggling the bridge and whatnot since Ben hadn't after so long so that I wasn't softlocked. Something that only happened once a really long time ago (very likely over a decade ago by now) in Episode V Chapter III (Asteroid Flight). One time while in the space worm hidden inside a crater you have to enter for torpedoes, I somehow got past the loading zone and instead continued outside of its mouth instead of being taken back outside the crater. Gravity took effect seeing as there was no more invisible terrain for the Millennium Falcon to hover over on and I very quickly plummeted downwards with no death barrier or anything to stop me travelling down endlessly at a ridiculous speed. The definitely not supposed to be viewed from outside space worm slowly disappeared up above I travelled at high speeds farther down endlessly out of bounds. A softlock that freaked me out because seeing the space worm in full like that just looked wrong to me. There was one point in time that certain glitches gave me this feeling of disgust, and not the petty emotion kind, but a discomforting bodily and mental feeling as if I was looking at something horrifyingly grotesque. It mainly happened when it came to clipping or any form of seeing models "explode" where they being to freak out in size and/or their vertexes or whatever part of their surfaces contort into various shapes like spiky protrusions and what not. I had some modded Minecraft worlds on an old laptop that somehow ran into severe problems like that sometimes and it really freaked me out clipping through all of the uninteractable terrain and watching all of the mobs' models contort and freak out like that while also clipping through and inside them as I flew around in Creative. Felt like body horror to me. All I could was imagine how all of that would feel in real life, which was nothing but a terrifying thought to go through. I'm really not bothered by stuff like that in such an extreme way anymore, but just thinking about it sometimes still feels wrong. Stuff like seeing that space worm the wrong way and what not were very unpleasant experiences and idea of that in real life is still a horrifying one to me. Horrors beyond my 8 year old mind's comprehension is not where I thought this was going to go but it sure did happen. Finally, in Episode I Chapter 7 (Anakin's Flight) I ran into a softlock where the reactor core "boss" screwed up and spawned to rotating shield layers at once. Only one disappeared but the other remained up and stationary. Because the extra was still up and the game was waiting for me to destroy some of the targets around the "boss", of which is shielded itself by a small ring while any other shield is up, I couldn't destroy any and was softlocked. At least it was a why not useless Free Play run and at the end of the level so I had no issues exiting without actually finishing the level. And as a bonus that is probably already known about in LWII specifically. In Episode VI Chapter 5 (Jedi Destiny), the entire southern strip of the red Free Play bonus room has no collision, letting all studs and players fall right through to the death barrier. Included is the ability to save yourself by turning around after falling and jumping back up through the various glitchy layers of collision below the ground found in every level of the classic LEGO games if you somehow manage to get yourself out of bounds and underneath of a ground surface. Second bonus is that there was one time I chose online in TCS because why not and spawned in the Mos Eisely Cantina as one of the two cars you can find outside, similar to what you did with the vehicles in this video. No idea how or why, but it would consistently happen upon joining a specific server (of which I was player 2 and player 1 remained entirely inactive.) I think I was actually solely the car unlike the vehicle glitch in this video because I couldn't exit the vehicle in any way as far as I remember. I'm surprised all of this is even possible, as strange and specific as these things are. Episode II seems to have been spared from all of these game breaking moments. Perhaps I just haven't found them yet though. It's not much but there is a minor visual error I found in Episode II Chapter 2 (Discovery on Kamino) where if you let the broom in the first interior room go as far as possible without either you or it going off screen and automatically cancelling the force, sometimes the camera seems to get confused somehow and thinks you're outside again because the rain particles will reactive once the camera is stretched out. The rain will disappear when the camera begins to refocus on the player but the visual error is easily repeatable as much as you'd like as long as you don't let the broom complete its path.) That was a lot of stuff, but maybe some of it's unknown and very specific too. To me some of them seem unknown seeing as I have never seen them mentioned before but for all I know they've all been readily discovered and documented for all too see. I didn't intend for this to become essay length but for anyone who does end up reading this, hopefully at least some of it was interesting if they are unknown and very specific things that people are unaware of. I'd like to know if at least one is, because it can certainly be unique to be the only one to know about or to have experienced a very specific glitch or error prior to talking about it.
A very easy way to do this glitch is by simply jumping off the edge and having p2 push the vehicle off the edge before you respawn. The glitch is simply triggered by the vehicle being dead while trying to respawn you riding it, so you can time it with p2 pushing the vehicle off the edge to make it work. I’ve actually gotten this glitch to work in places that you’d think it wouldn’t even be possible in, such as with the speeder in Mos Eisley Spaceport. I even took it a step further and did in in Story Mode because if you do it in a level where your party gets swapped around (like in Dagobah where pilot Luke is swapped with Jedi Luke), if the character that would normally get replaced is turned into a vehicle, they actually remain in your party alongside the new character, and you can bring the vehicle-character to any part of the level. I even took the spider droids in Jabba’s Palace all the way to the Rancor fight. I have recordings of me doing this glitch (or attempting it) in every level that has a vehicle by using out of bounds glitches to find ledges in areas that don’t normally have ledges. I really want to upload them one day.
I remember finding this glitch with my younger brother a few years back and we thought it was the craziest thing. What made it even funnier was that for us, the character icon flashed as the stock "Question Mark" image found in game for a few seconds. Good times!
That’s crazy. I remember discovering the glitch where you can become the spider droid, in much the same manner you did, but I had no idea that you could also use that to duplicate characters! That’s amazing! Thank you so much for documenting this glitch! It was an enjoyable blast to the past!
Can confirm that ride cloning works on the PS2 version. I remember finding it as a kid using the dark-side pit in the center of the room and thinking it was super funny. Not even really sure why I fell in there at all considering today is my first time learning about the droid riding glitch.

Yeah. It's one of those details that the more I make videos and stream, it was going to come out eventually, so I figured I'd get it out of the way, lol. It's certainly out of the ordinary, but it worked out somehow. And the best part is, none of us even hate each other... yet...
I remember watching a low quality video detailing this glitch around 14-15 years ago when I had the PSP version of LSW2. This is some real "hidden memory unlocked" type stuff for me.
This glitch was definitely on RU-vid before because I remember copying it as a kid, it was using the pit inside the room where Luke is found in Story, using the Dark Side to open it up. It's cool to see this glitch again, and yeah you're right about it being possible in other levels because I remember doing it with the Car in Secret Plans. I'm pretty sure they patched the glitch in The Complete Sega but should be possible in every version of LEGO Star Wars 2.

Duuude I remember Star Wars complete saga for the DS and that crap was the funnest thing to play until the ds broke. (Also just relized your character sprite is remade tri force Heros that’s brilliant.
I played on the Xbox version of the game and I believe I did manage to achieve playing as the droid once while riding it off the cliff for fun, though it's been a long time since then. I don't remember discovering the ride cloning part of the glitch however.
I have vivid memories of playing LEGO Star Wars on the 360 (I think it was Complete Saga but don't qoute me) and my brother and I would play as Jedi Knight Luke (so I assume it was in Story Mode) and ride the Monks into this death pit in the middle of Jabba's Palace. It let us respawn and play as them basically every time. I've never seen Ride Cloning though.
I remember stumbling on this as a kid on the PS2. I did it with the pit that required a sith to open (because dumb kid me didn't realize you could do it elsewhere). My friends and I called it "The Cloning Pit."

I once played the GC version of Lego Star Wars 2 and when I went into freeplay, I was given a Clone from Ep. 2 which was interesting because I didn't even have the "old save data" purchased.
I remember messing around with these a bit in the second game (old PC build in 2005, ran it ""okay""). Too bad they patched it in Complete Saga (Steam, Wii, DS)

I remember playing the endor speeder level and somehow ejecting myself from the speeder during the "chase" part and being able to walk around. I was playing with a friend at the time and he countiued to speed along and the camera gltiched up trying to catch up with the both of us so I couldn't explore fully
I had this one glitch occur while I was playing Lego Batman free play, in the Nightwing tech suit for some reason it would act like Batman's detonator suit and place a bomb, but the bomb was just a default clone of Nightwing and you could detonate the clone who would just stand there until you did or until it just blew up on it's own, I have it recorded
Someone else knew about this?? My sister and I discovered it by constantly throwing ourselves into the big pit while riding the things. I think we played in the ps2 version. I also remember a lot of the time the spiders would just suicide again with you being unable to control them.
I believe this works on the PS2 version of the game. I can't help but recall watching an old video on this glitch and attempting to try it myself. Unless there is some other long forgotten glitch involving the droid monks.
I did the thumbnail before and Incouldnt remember how. I also got through the gate whatvernnext to jabba, and was able to walk back behind the curtains.

I actually also accidentally did this EXACT glitch as a kid, I think there might have been one old video showcasing this glitch but its possible it just doesnt exist anymore. Glad to see im not the only one. EDIT: I never thought as a kid to go into freeplay and attempt to switch characters and dismount like that though, pretty cool
I found a youtube comment from 6 years ago on this video describing the exact same thing with playing as a spider. "There's also a glitch where you turn into a spider, in the beginning of the level where you unfreeze Han Solo. Just ride the spider towards the cliff, and jump off the split second before you die. We're just hitting the wave of content creators nostalgic for the 6th/7th gen consoles. Like Scott the Woz as a popular example. And it just feels weird because that generation grew up with everyone making videos about NES/SNES/Sega games in the AVGN/Egoraptor/JonTron era of RU-vid, but now WE are the dominant voice of nostalgia online.

I am very sad to say it does not work on The Complete Saga on Xbox. Whenever you fall off of a cliff and switch characters (regardless of if that character can ride it or not), even if you switch back to the character you fell off in the first place with, your character (after they die) will just teleport to the last place you stood on the actual ground before mounting the spider. Seriously a real shame.

Hey, may you try out Lego Batman two it’s the same as Lego, Star Wars, the video game and Lego Star Wars, the original trilogy and the complete saga but better even having an open world, even reusing the same gameplay

Hi! Unfortunately i think the footage is lost (need to check discord), but there's SOME form that exists in the 360 version of TCS. Unfortunately, i think it might be exclusive to Xbox live co-op with some lucky lag timing. I tried for about an hour to replicate it again and had no success.
Little more info: I was also a B'omarr Monk - but we were in Story mode. I was Chewbacca riding one, my friend was AFK and I was just messing around, when I accidentally went into a pit inside the palace. I was far enough from him that I was forced to drop out and became a different character closer to him - but Chewbacca was replaced in the party with the BT-16 for the rest of the level.
I FOUND VIDEOS. Here's a long one where I became the car in Episode 4 Chapter 1. While you can't see what's happening for most of it, on my friend's screen, I was just following him as if I had dropped out. First glitch doesn’t work on mobile 😭😭 the game doesn’t allow you to switch characters when falling or something weird. Unless I couldn’t get it to work. Maybe with a controller it would. 2nd one does work on mobile though
