Really excited for this camera. CFexpressB, tilt screen, buttons on the right, smaller size, PDAF, WiFi 6 lots to like - but yeah I’m wary of the power button. I loved the SL2s version, I’m not a fan of the lockout menu, I’ve heard the battery life is real bad, the crops on 4k60, I was really hoping for some internal storage… but overall excited enough to put in my preorder and give it a go for some big projects this year
Loving the new camera design! My Sl2s has been getting fixed for over 4 months no end in sight might just grab another sl2s when prices start to drop to have a backup instead.
I think they only moved the buttons from left to right due to the new tilting screen like q3 Looking forward to your experience once you’ve rented one, I’m sure the photos will be great but would love to have some video focused content on the sl3, like does it shoot open gate etc Great work as always Lukas
@@lukasvanderlende I saw hands on PetaPixel preview and the rolling shutter is quite bad. Lets see. On the other hand I am sure there will be plenty of firmware updates to fix possible issues.
For me one of the main reasons I am considering upgrading is because of the buttons being moved to the right side. I am a left eye dominant shooter and, with the camera up to my face, my left cheek basically rests on the sl2 buttons. Moving them will allow me to access the function buttons while the camera is up to my face. It seems a little petty but the way I shoot it will help me a lot.
Super valid! I’m also left eye dominant but I might not have ran into that issue because of my glasses keeping the camera away from my face a bit! It looks like a great camera
I agree I was disappointed with the camera especially the video features. I need the replace my Nikon Z6 & my new Blackmagic 6KFF is too big. Maybe I’ll wait for the SL3-S or a new Lumix camera.
The power button does not bother me at all. Do you physically turn your iPone off…NO… it just goes to sleep. I also read where the Leica software engineers have plans for some real improvements for the Leica Photos app which can work in the background with your camera.
I mean, the reason why you don’t turn off your phone is because it keeps receiving messages, calls and a bunch of notifications from other apps, it’s a multi task tool. A camera is a camera, so not comparing apples with apples here 🤷♂️
