The Lexus LS 500 might be one of the best luxury vehicles you can buy, especially if you buy it used, but what about when you take away some of the options? Do you lose some of the value baked into one of the most reliable cars on the road? I'm genuinely curious since at $90k there are a LOT of other options out there for you to choose from that would be more or less fully loaded while this F Sport trim of the LS 500 is not. Then again, the Lexus LS 500 looks quite good in F Sport trim, so there's that...

You save in Maintance fees over 10 years vs other comparable luxury full-size sedans. If a car is a poor investment in general, reliability wins every time.

That’s exactly what I did! Fabulous car -‘20 LS F-Sport, RWD. Have owned other LS’s, absolutely LOVE this one! Fantasize about having this on the autobahn when I was stationed in Ansbach back in the ‘90’s. That Nuremberg to Munich run….my oh my🤔😂

I have an LS 500. Amazing car but the F Sport trim is a waste. Get it optioned out with luxury goodies. It’s sporty enough already. The proper F Sport Lexus sedan was the dearly departed GS (which I had, replaced by the LS).

You can do what I did, I bought the LS 500 optioned with the exec package, rear reclining seats, massage seats etc etc and then I converted the exterior to F-sport by replacing the main center grille and two lower left and right grills to the F-sport frills and badging so now its best of both worlds, Im planning on making a RU-vid video

Same i just bought a 2024 i had a 2021 s560 just passed the warranty by 2k miles and the engine went out & i did every service even before time

@@BallinlikeimMj I would want it new, I wouldn’t want a used car. I like to know the exact history of it even down to how the previous owner drove it impossible to know used etc. I wouldn’t be surprised… if this gets killed off in the U.S they sell every few of them & the LC as well, its a shame gorgeous vehicles. Its a win for people who appreciate them tho, the market isn’t saturated with them when you see one its a rare site. I work by the Japanese consulate in NYC & they are the only ones i see driving LS500’s.

Maybe they shouldve offered the same 5 litre v8 in the lc500/is500 exclusively for f sport trim to make it a more appealing option for. It has the brakes, interior styling, and suspension tuning but the same engine as any other ls500 trim. The only problem is it has much less torque than the twin turbo 3.4 litre v6 (395 lb for the v8 vs 442 lb for the tt v6) - and you need a good amount of torque to move this 4700lb full sized sedan. Also the v8 makes its power higher in the powerband since its a high revving and has high compression whereas the tt v6 makes its power lower in the powerband - making the ls feel light on its feet early in the rev band

I would go with the LC 500 in a second over this.. 5.0 naturally inspired. Race inspired motor is a far better choice than a turbo V6

The trick is to buy this car, two years old, and pay $45,000 for it. At that price it’s a great deal in my opinion.

The economists call it diminishing marginal utility. I’d be hard pressed to say it’s worth that when you could buy several used cars for that with money left over. For instance, that easily buys a sports car and a pick up truck.

The LS has been a complete marketing failure from start. Designed as a 7 series and S class competitor, at the same time.... recipe for a disaster. The car was at the start, to loud, uncomfortable. Two major updates made the car far far more comfortable but this came to late.... Toyoda has ruined the brands flagship LS😢😢😢😢😢😢. Even worse, the car will be discontinued 😢😢😢😢. Unbelievable, the LS is the cornerstone of Lexus.

I get what you’re saying, but it makes sense. If you’re not a German luxury brand, it’s a lot of investment for not much return. No one is buying luxury flagship sedans.
