When everyone follows the trend to be special then no one is actually special. In the crowd of "me too" phone companies, LG stands unique. The one company that didn't fold to the pressure of compromising their core beliefs to follow the "trend". That headphone jack is literally the best audio jack in the entire mobile industry. Wireless this and buds that can't even try to compare to the audio quality pumping out of connection. The dual screen has more than enough possible uses. From gaming to unique camera use to specific UI interactions, there is a lot to be said about this implementation and its future potential. But hey, to each their own. What i feel is important in a mobile device is obviously not what you feel is important.

This review sounds more like what phone fits the reviewer's tastes instead of what the strengths and weaknesses of the phone and who this phone fits as far as usage. I think the dual functionality is a great feature of this phone, whereas the reviewer said he just couldn't figure out how this works for him, so his review says it's not good for me too... Hm. Not buying this review, but looking hard at this phone(with the dual screen, of course).

I wouldn't call this a review. It's like checking the phone for your own preference only instead of speaking on behalf of people who wants to see the device for themselves The cameras are hands down the best manual controls even on video and I've used it several times The headphone jack is still very much relevant today most especially with the quad DAC that pretty much nobody has You can't find a use for the dual screen but I can, a lot of use. In this review there is no mention about audio and video recording, you can call this an overview but not a review.

Unpopular opinion: The software is good and everyone is just bandwagoning. I like it, I've always liked it and it's simple. The new interface is even better now even though it does resemble Samsung's.

I disagree with nearly everything you've said about the phone. I use the dual screen every day and have none of the issues you mentioned. I use multitasking all the time, battery trade off is definitely worth it. Also, LG UI is basically a One UI clone but for some reason it's bad? I don't get it.

Nice, focused on all the features it's missing from other flagships but didn't even mention all the features it has that other flagships don't have.

I'm tired of these reviewers focusing on the high refresh rate and trying to say it makes a phone better for having it. In reality no one cares or even notices high refresh rates. Your average consumer cares more about battery life. I commend LG for recognizing that and not being just another trend follower. I appreciate them for being unique. I don't believe this review is an accurate representation of the phone. It was hardly a review at all. Now LG has to use some of that cost savings and invest in strong marketing of their flagships.

There's no way you complained about the teardrop notch as though it's somehow so fundamentally different than a center hole punch. This review was just plain bad, Jesus...

This guy doesn't know how to review a product. 1. Doesn't even mention the 4 microphones in this phone. 2. Doesn't like the UI because of the icons which can be easily themed. 3. He tells there are better cameras since he doesn't know how to mess around with manual controls. 4. he cannot find the second screen to be useful because he doesn't know how to use it as a game controller

(Review!)". 1:02 Ignoring the trends shouldn't make you feel like LG's behind, they did the ToF Sensor on the LG G8 with it's hand gestures that actually performed great for me, but, thanks to you Hollywood Reviewers bashing of it, LG got rid of it because it was deemed by y'all as a "Gimmick". the LG G3 was the first mainstream smartphone to start the trend of QHD Displays, but, it was deemed questionable by Hollywood Reviewers until other OEMs took hold. LG is STILL the only OEM that offers DAC capabilities to their Headphone Jack, and has testimonials from Users to back up that claim, so it's not just some marketing jargon to sucker folks in. Alot of you folks whined about LG having that big cut out in their Dualscreen Case of the LG G8X ThinQ and V50 ThinQ, but due to LG's proven stubborness, they refined their Dualscreen Case with the V60. 1:35 High Refresh Rate is trendy, but, it serves no purpose to performance and it's just there for Oohs and Aahs. 4:34 I'm sorry, I didn't know Smartphones were equivalent to a Beauty Pageant where it has to look a certain way, please get this mindset out of y'all minds, Bezels serve a purpose on Smartphones to avoid accidental touches and to absorb impact by accidental drops, how this is overlooked constantly is beyond me. 5:26 LG has budged in software (LG G8 User with Android 10), they just didn't lean on your understanding of what their UI should look like, you must be still stuck in the LG G2 Days by your logic of them not "budging". Comparing a pricey expandable Samsung Galaxy Fold's screen with dual screens on LG V60 is ridiculous. For LG V60 at this aspect you get more than what you pay for.

LG: *Keeps headphone jack(best in the industry literally for audiophiles) and bucks the trends and is special* Reviewers: Nah LG sucks and isn't special at all.

Along with Marques Brownlee video this is the most dumbest nick picky video I have ever seen. This isn't a fold. This is a regular phone with the OPTION to become a duel screen. People for the longest have complain so much of battery life and LG is giving it to them. But now it isn't enough. They rather have high refresh rate. A tear drop, a hole...pretty much the same. As far as camera, I have seen comparison and it looks as if the LG V60 beats the s20 in a lot of samples. And I own the s20. It has been a long time since I watched an Android Authority video. Now I know why. I am getting this phone later on with that duel screen. It would be fun to actually use the browser while watching videos or do a little shopping while researching it on the other screen.

Separate headph jack = charging my phone while watching a movie, greatest sound quality, no need to worry about wireless headphone's charge when i am outside. Fm radio = why the hate? 20% battery loss while using 2md screen cover = fine dont use it when u dont need it. There's an one touch button that allows u to toggle the display. Btw i dont use an LG. just thought some of those "useless" features u mentioned were not so much valid.

Other Android Authority guy does a video stating higher refresh rate is almost not noticable. In this video "it has not a 90 or 120 Hz refresh rate, I repeat: it has not a higher refresh rate!" ??

ah the irony, i really remember that time I owned LG G3 and people were like damn that's what called a phone

I got mine last night and so far its great. I used the dual screen to prop the phone up in portrait mode during a 2 hour Skype call. The camera is nice and I need to test that more. Its actually missing some of those older LG features that I came back to LG for so that'll be an interesting thought. But you only showed like 4 camera samples. Didn't mention 4k60 from the front camera. Didn't discuss the 8k capabilities or the strengths of an LG phone like the manual camera and video modes. Or the specialized sound recording modes. So unfortunately this is another half effort review of an LG device. Why not review phones based on who they're made for instead of reviewing it like every other mainstream device? Just a thought.

How the hell is this guy even a reviewer? Didn't even show a quarter of what the phone does best. Most of the time, he just focused on what the phone lacked and not what it actually had. I'm coming from a OnePlus 6T, and this phone really is appealing. The bashing of LG phones every year for no reason has got to stop. If you wanna see actual reviews, watch Flossy Carter. Floss and Juan Bagnell are the best when it comes to actually showing people what these smartphones could do. They don't just focus on what the phone doesn't have, they actually use the thing and show you what it can do. This guy didn't even show you you could shoot videos on Manual mode on this thing. Or did he even know it could do that? Feels like he only used it for an hour and decided to make a hate video already. No quad HD replay? So what? I got a 4k TV at home where I watch movies. No 120hz refresh rate? So what? People turn the damn thing off anyway to save battery. Like those things really matter if you ain't a geek? I'm a normal person who goes to work and uses a phone like how a normal person uses it. Too much hate on this review. You can clearly see this guy already pledged his allegiance to another brand. Ignore him, most of theses youtubers petend to be the expert & have always been cruel to LG, they wont tell you the reality, my advice is for everybody out there juat pick any of the LG phones from the release of G7+ to V60, you will never regret.

One more thing... the headphone jack of LG has a HIFI QUAD DAC. They're the only brand who has it.

A thoroughly disappointing "review". As tech reviewers, you guys have an important job. To inform the audience regarding a device's pros and cons...OBJECTIVELY. Now I get it. You people are influencers and opinion-makers. So companies incentivise you to highlight features that make them stand out and lead them to bigger revenues. The "trend" of high refresh rates - is objectively nothing more than hype - and you know it. It is barely noticeable in daily usage, and only gets activated in certain use cases like gaming and scrolling. In fact, few games can even utilize a 90 Hz or 120 Hz refresh rate on phones at the moment. Also, battery drain. Thus, high refresh rates are just a point of differentiation for phone companies at present..with no added utility, but providing increased revenue per unit. So, your calling out the V60 for not offering high refresh rate is absolutely uncalled for(maybe because you're getting paid to trash the phone?). You barely showed a handful of camera samples, didn't even brush upon the plethora of video capabilities, the dual speakers or the more sensible use-case scenarios of the dual screen. Just because you don't have a use for it, doesn't mean no one will. Stop projecting like your limited imagination is shared by everyone else. Finally, your half-baked take on the phone, which you masquerade as a review, isn't really one, as you don't seem to have really used the phone to identify its strengths and weaknesses. You walked in to this review with your pre-conceived notions - as several other viewers have also commented. Try being more objective the next time, if you get time from waxing eloquent about Samsung devices, i.e..

I’m starting to lose trust in android authority with “reviews” like this. In a market, you have to have a differentiating feature, and LG has a lot. Instead of “following the direction of the industry”, they’re making options for people. To say LG is being stubborn for not following trends while saying Google google doesn’t trends, is pretty wrong. Google has followed significant trends like removing the headphone jack, adding high refresh rate displays, and cutting expandable storage. LG is being independent of the trends, and that’s good. I could’ve sworn phone reviewers were growing tired of the same phone design, so why isn’t LG being praised for at least trying their own designs? It’s like saying everyone should follow what the other big youtubers do. It’s not about what the top ones are doing. It’s about following your own path and doing what you think is best.

There is absolutely no need to have subscription to any channel that reviewes phones. They are repetetive and boring after little time. Only search if yoi are ooking to change a phone. Otherwise i just stay away from these.

Unfair review..I disagree with almost everything you said...LG is always a high spec value for money device, introduced many new trends, multiple cameras, screen ratio, Hi-Fi, wide angle camera, and many many more..and not overpriced just because coping Apple trends..

These are reviews nowadays? Didn't even give credit to LG for starting the "wide 📷 trend" or the "qhd trend" few years back. No mention of audio quality or even video quality since that's what the V stands for... Also just because you personally didn't like the dual screen doesn't mean dismiss it completely. How about mention and show the things that it can do or are advertised so your viewers can get an idea of so the features it has and compare it to other flagships. And if you are going to complain about battery life from the case why bring up refresh rate so much as that also drains battery? Hope you do an ACTUAL review of this phone after using it for more than a few days

This wasn't a very good review at all. I understand that each reviewer has a subjective opinion, but this sounds a lot like you were disappointed because you weren't getting a cheaper S20, OnePlus, etc.

This review really should be taken down. It's very badly done, plain and simple. And, this has nothing to do with whether or not an LG fan agrees with his assertions. It's just a very poorly done review, which is a pattern with this reviewer, in particular. He is especially grating, as well, with his whiney way, nitpicky nature, and very vapid reasonings as to whether or not a phone is good. Just a bad, inexperienced reviewer...period. What's next? Declare a phone a complete disaster because it doesn't come in the new, "in" color? "Like, OMG!" 🙄

Looks like he was paid not to say it in the video though it is mentioned in his article. Now hear this: LG continues to be one of the best phone makers when it comes to audio. We have to give LG some applause for keeping the 3.5mm headphone jack available on its phones. This alone may make LG worth considering. But LG takes it a step further. The V60 carries over the quad DAC we’ve come to love for processing audio and the result is superior sound when it comes to media playback. Then there’s audio capture. The V60 has four mics that manage to record crystal clear sound. One feature we really appreciate: The audio can effectively “zoom” along with the lens when you are shooting video, meaning the sound centers on your subject. The results are palpable. LG handily bests the competition as far as audio is concerned. Stereo speakers are often hit or miss on flagships, but LG knocked them out of the park. Combining the output from the earpiece and bottom-firing speaker, the V60 delivers crisp, punchy sound that you can crank way up. It’s the best-sounding phone I’ve heard this year.

Mil standard and use of dual screen instead.. omg. Watch Juan Bagnell review instead. It's detailed and more technical tho. You would never regret.

Dude seriously? If youre going to mention the pixel 4 then also mention the near unusable battery life that the 90hz caused. Even one plus was blames fro bad battery due to 90 hz. I think it is pretty much clear that not including 90hz is a fine choice and not an omission

Wow that was pretty negative, I wonder how your google pixel samsung Ultra, iphone 11 almost pro reviews are. Truly did not go into detail of it's most unique feature the dual screen. As a reviewer even if it's not for you, you should really show what it can do, instead of telling people it's not worth the $100, for multitasking, gaming, stylus support, full screen with a hinge, camera mode to see the pictures as you take them, and see your gallery plus photos, gaming pad. in the car having nav + spotify and fm radio, making it a great infotainment device. FM radio is huge when your data, or wifi goes out, the different mic modes are great to. I don't know No matter what LG does, many review sights, start of with a negative doom and gloom title, and then in their review it is the same ole doom and gloom to fit the title. LG is the large youtube tech channels whipping boy it seems. Although now it is the best bang for the buck going and has some serious unique features no other phone has, or other phones have eliminated. It's not perfect, far from it, But in most ways it is a match for anything out there, and in some ways better and some ways worse, a good all arounder, it's main weakness is it is not apple or samsung and does not get the unearned respect those get, and LG is not great on software updates and the like.

I prefer a 100x a big battery than high refresh rate. When Samsung decides to go with a 1080p panel they all will say thats the best move,its funny how these reviewers are controlled by these manufactures.

Why didn't you showed the manual videos and photo features, why didn't you mentioned the DAC that is built in. Why didn't you mentioned the 8k recording, I guess the world's first phone with manual 8K video recording on a phone!!! These all are game changing features. I haven't really been liking your reviews for a while now, and you're basically bashing one of the better flagships of the year here for no good reason. If all you're gonna talk about is whether a device "suits your preference", then you shouldn't make it look like a general review in the first place. Sorta hurts to do so, as you were one of the better channels, but unsubscribing.

When LG bought flagship phone with QHD display, people called it mad..!! Now Then LG step back to Full HD, people call it out of trend..!! 😊 (LG is again the mad guy who introduced display aspects of 18:9 'technically 2:1', which turned infectious and every other manufacturers jumped into the bandwagon of late)

Reason you buy LG is perfect high quality audio DAC. There is no other phone company that provides the same audio quality. Oh and that´s true since the V10. Yeah. LG are more business alldayphones.

I am still getting the LG v60, even though you can get the Note 10 with the HD display for around the same price. My $20 -$50 wired headphones sounds much better than my Galaxy Buds.
