Ah, the Item Shop. A tale as old as time, it - to try and accrue wealth through whatever means necessary. A nasty, horrendous case of Stockholm Syndrome. Despite the crude ways of implementation and inevitable bleed it has onto other games, both from Epic and gaming as a whole, none can deny its cultural impact. The V-buck - a currency used to perform transactions in the Fortnite Item Shop - has become synonymous with gaming culture in the relatively short timespan it has been present in the sphere, a nearly perfect reflection of the game itself. Much like all microtransactions, the Item Shop rides the fine and tenous line between proper and predatory. The kind that begs the question of whether staring at a 19 dollar bank notification on your phone is worth the hassle of earning a few slots in the Battle Pass. Sonic Riders might have nothing to do with that at a glance, yet one may find hidden secrets when scavenging deeper. You see
Not a good start starting this off with an unfunny "joke" that's this unneeded.😑 Seriously, just saying Sonic 06 over and over again and showing the box art is not funny or even close to that, it just makes it more cringy to the point where one would quit the video immediately before the first minute hit. For a video meant to be centered on the Sonic Riders games, this really could've done without that whole bit completely.
