Actually, there’s one small, yet very heartwarming and hilarious moment: in the Order of the Phoenix, Harry received a painting from Dobby as Xmas gift which looks so much like an elf with dark hair, long nose, thin face and enormous glasses (something like so, as I couldn’t recall the exact description in the book). Harry was confused when first seeing this painting, but Fred and George, after a minute , pointed out that Dobby drew Harry! OMG 😱 😂 Dobby is mischievous, hilarious, yet extremely attentive and loyal.

Dobby’s CGI was so ahead of its time in Chamber of Secrets. It still looks fantastic and even better than some CGI in newer movies.

Astonishing. CGI was still pretty new thing back then, a lot of the effects were done using practical effects with real props and puppets, masks and body paints, fake blood, etc. Back then, CGI was actually fairly heavy for computational process power, and computers back then weren't particularily fast, so a very detailed CGI was rendered very slowly frame by frame, where one frame could take up to a whole day of rendering, so one single scene that lasts about a couple minutes of screen time, may be rendered in a course of couple months. Each delay in work and each render delays the production, so if the same scene could be done using a puppet or a real prop, then film makers back then usually went with the practical effect instead. Remember we're talking about year 2002, where VHS was still kind of a standard in most of homes, DVD wasn't as widespread as it was couple years ago. Nowadays even Blu-Ray goes into background, almost everyone watches over cloud streaming services, like Netflix.

@@krisynthiagomez5883 it’s because Dobby never really wanted to kill anyone, dobby wasn’t a murderer, he was purely innocent and he simply wanted people to be at peace. Although he has witnessed some of the most evil things from his master so he understood that not everything was rainbows and sunshine. So when he met hairy potter and his friends he saw genuinely good people. Furthermore learning how to defend his friends rather than to ultimately want to kill people.

Dobby is not only the most loyal, but he is also the bravest! Think how horrible it would have been for him to go back to Malfoy Manor, a place he endured so much hardship and never thought he would have to return. He not only had the courage to go back, but also to stand up to his past abusers!!!!! I was thinking more about that, and how Dobby would not have hesitated even so. Knowing Harry Potter was in trouble, there was no place in the world he would not go to help. Did I watch this video so I could sob unashamedly at his noble and tragic death? It seems so.....

S.P.E.W. From my memory, Harry and Ron joined to get Hermione off their backs. Fred and George refused. Hagrid, beloved animal caretaker/gentle giant, refused as well. Saying it’s not what they’d want. Hermione leaving clothing around the common room reminded me of the invention of the Cotton Gin. Designed to make slave work easier, but ended up making them more in demand. Since none of the other house elves wanted to clean the room Hermione left clothes at, Dobby ended up working harder to make up for that, but he loved the clothes. Harry later found out. Hermione worked frantically to make more clothes, often scolding herself for how many house elves she still haven’t freed yet. Harry not having the heart to tell her that Dobby was the only elf that accepted her kind gestures.

Dobby was one the saddest death in HP, first time I read the book when he died I had to put the books down for a couple of days before I started reading again, I was in serious disbelief. I had to do the same again when Fred died. I understand why J.K Rowling had to kill these crucial characters though it showed that no Is safe during a war, With Fred the people close too Harry had to feel the effect of it too, they can't get of Scott free they had to feel how everyone is feeling with an loss and it had to be someone who is very loved as well.

Again, I REALLY love him, and a part of me wants to tell myself that it's not real and stop crying while another part of me wants to cry with the Deathly Hallows book in my arms. All I'm just saying is that you don't have to be in grief for a death that didn't happen. (Please don't take this in a bad way, I know that this probably didn't make any sense and I love Dobby so much. He is so cute and one of my favorite characters.)

Omg! I remember my younger self reading the part where the faithful Dobby dies I cried and sobbed so much. Now that I'm an older professional woman with a kid, I still laugh and cry whenever Dobby's role and life is summarized. I guess once a Potterhead, always a Potterhead. I hated that some of my fave and good characters were killed in the series.

Ahh! I absolutely love Dobby as a character. He didn't deserve to die in that way, and it was really noble of him to do that and save them all. I get that what he did to Harry (take all of his letters, set a rogue bludger on him, smash the cake on the visitors head etc.), but he's still such a nice character. I'm so glad that Dobby is a character and his CGI is very well made and so cool! I love how hard you work on your videos and I don't think people actually realise how hard it is to make these videos, especially ones like these! It amazes me that you can make videos that are posted every month, and even this long! When Dobby died, I literally cried until there was no years left.. It broke my heart when Harry said 'Don't ever save my life again,' but he did, for the last time. I love your channel, MovieFlame!
