Elliot has been playing mostly westerns all his life and that's what fits his tone of voice. He recently was in a Dorito commercial with a western styled setting. He is not a versatile actor as such. He is the typed cast actor in a certain role. Jones has played kings and warlords. Orson Welles is even better than Elliot. I mean he was the original choice for Vader. It's not about whose voice is better it's about the voice that connects to the character. Can't see Jeremy Irons or Morgan freeman playing Vader. But these men have deep voices as well. No one wants our precious Mufasa sounding like an old Alabama drunkie 😂😂. James earl Jones voice all day.

@katerinadicamella Fun fact: originally, one of the initial offers for Scar was made to DAVID BOWIE. I totally get it, and I think he would've had fun with the "You're so weird/You have no idea" moment, in particular. The problem was that he was already a bit behind schedule with his album at the time, and he didn't want to cause further problems with his record company. (2/29/2024)
