Lecture by Amber O'Hearn at the fourth Ancestral Health Symposium NL, saturday 12 october 2019 in Velp, the Netherlands.
The role of body fat varies among species. Marine mammals have blubber for thermogenesis and insulation. Migrating birds use fat to derive water from its chemical breakdown. Of course, a primary use of fat is for energy. In some animals, fat can be used to generate ketone bodies, which are efficiently used by the brain as fuel. Humans have an apparently unique ability to continue to generate high levels of ketones even when fully fed. This fact has been used to explain our peculiar high levels of body fat, especially as infants, and also our unusual affinity for dietary fat.

The people in the q and a are insulting... did they even research the carnivore diet prior to the discussion? I mean she is asking about vitamin c on the carnivore diet yet the man asking the question is literally talking to a 10 year carnivore. Amber you are an angel and i cant believe how calm you are

As a local lawyer advertises, "There are no bad questions", put another way, if you don't know it is better to ask. There is so much nonsense promoted by vegans, main stream media, and advertisers; and, as Amber points out, there are no decent studies regarding any human diet.

Fascinating Amber, really made me think a bit more about carnivore diet that I try to stay with and also how I can best support my tube fed child😀

A great eye-opener for the current fat paradigm, and perhaps also for vegans (unless they are blind ...!), no matter how much I respect their choice for so-called ethical reasons ... thank you for your most insightful presentation, Amber!

Terrible sound quality on the s. Fascinating lecturer. One question - don't birds drop mussels etc onto rocks? Not rocks onto mussels?

Has anyone ever thought that maybe we need to add bacteria to our gut microbiome because add bad bacteria from non animal foods? I mean really? Has this thought been studied 🤔?
