It's not racism at all. It's just that the character has already been established, it would be like making Moana with a white girl. There are so many wonderful black characters that could be portrayed on the big screen, it's rather insulting to black folk that instead of finding new black heroes, and heroines, they just race swap them.
I'm so excited for the movie. Everyone looks great. Everything is so beautiful so far. Halle is so beautiful and her voice is amazing! She sounds like a true Princess. I can't wait to see it.
Halle Bailey is not only an extraordinary vocalist but a multi-instrumentalist (2-3 instruments), writer, composer, actor and seemingly all-ariund great human being. To have Ever questioned why HER shows the Profound ignorance and laziness of Others.
The character has already been created many years ago. Thats all. We dont need new Ariel. Go and create new black character, dont touch old characters.
Im sorry but this movie was not good. They did her dirty by putting her in this role because she deserves better than a cgi mess of a rehash of a movie. Why dont we have more original black content on the big screen. Nothing but hand me downs.
