In hindsight I would definitely go with the bear sleeping bag over the cloak. On my longest running game thus far I died sleeping in a blizzard in a spot I thought was safe. With raw meat I like to keep it raw as long as possible before cooking it, as cooking it restores the length of time it’s good for. Storing raw meat outside or in an outside storage area also reduces its degradation. Placing rabbit traps in a line helps increase the chance of catching rabbits. Using snares rather than rocks will keep rabbits in an area. You can hunt out rabbits in an area by killing them all with rocks instead of snares. Lighting a fire next to a carcass is a big help. I found the hacksaw to be indispensable. Cattails are a must, they never degrade.

I started playing long dark through the story mode and quickly realized the importance of rock throwing. Those first few rabbits really get the ball rolling. I can't play on interloper yet, but still it's a great feeling when you first done the rabbit hat and gloves

Bedroll is a solid bet IMO, less weight+more warmth, seems legit. There is ALWAYS more stuff to carry, and not freezing to death at night is pretty king. As for thoughts on the two destinations, I would go for the closer goal and more map exposure personally, can usually find a few broken arrows to get you started for arrowheads, and you are doing a full map run. But then again, securing the more sustainable weapon and ammo as soon as possible is also a pretty solid choice, as the polaroid and lookout are not going anywhere really. My favorite outfit combo is grizzly bearskin coat as my outer layer, military jacket as the under layer or the mariner pea coat, wool long johns double layeed, expedition socks, combat boots, balaclava, double layered fisherman sweater, snow pants, inner layer, construction work pants outer layer, I really wish they would of added raccoons to the game because my raccoon skin hat and raccoon skin poncho in real life has caused me to start sweating from over heating even in -negative -20 degrees F° during high winds

i dont carry a bedroll or bearskin now. It is better to carry 5 clothes and 15 stick - they dont weigh that much and you can make a snow shelter where there is an advantage of sleeping and a chance to iincrease the temperature also

Good video! Would argue that pv homestead is a better choice. Weather aside, walking to the right out front is a wolf spawn, left is a deer spawn, and sometimes a bear spawn. Also has a 6 place stove top for cooking after

Even tho quite a few things have been added, it’s still pretty helpful and the bearskin bedroll is probably the safer bet for me too, as it gets pretty cold, even on voyageur. I’ve seen temperatures at about -45°F at CH even on voyageur, so having one is a good idea.

I didn't realise that's how intestinal parasites work. I've been shooting wolves and leaving the meat until I reach level 5 cooking, so I can eat wolf and bear meet with getting sick. I'm going to start harvesting wolves.
