No disrespect to the wonderful Beatles, but i prefer beautiful George's gorgeous voice and interpretation . This is simply beautiful. Miss him so much .
This is exactly how The Beatles originally recorded this song. Unfortunately Phil Spector then put his wall of sound onto it which Paul absolutely hated. Have a listen to the album Let it Be Naked to listen to their original version.
What a talent..... When you see what passes for musical singing nowadays. He was a pure singing talent. No auto tune. Just a microphone. Miss him. Sad.
😢😢😿 I have loved this song since I was 17 years old. I'm 63 now. how hard life is, how hard I've been struggling, I always come back to the long and winding road that leads me to The Divine. It's a very spiritual song to me. 💞
@@MikeLandicovers does it matter in the end though? You can't really teach how to sing your soul out and that's what George did. We were so lucky to have witnessed his talent.
He knew that he had a talent that was a godly gift. But as all of the greatest artists, he was his most mercilessly critic himself. One can even see it when he sings, that he handles each note like the most important note of his life. All great artists are like that. The worst are usually the ones, who are convinced that they are doing perfectly fine.
He had such a beautiful voice. I love that he sang so cleanly and accurately without all kinds of runs or odd vocal styling. Just lovely. So sad that he’s gone.
George Michael is definitely one of the greatest talents to come out of the UK. Gone way too young, he was a beautiful kind human being and a truly wonderful performer. We miss you George 💔💔😢😢😔😔🙏🙏
Quite possibly the best version of this incredible song I have ever heard, only George Michael could do that, he was without doubt one of the finest Artists to have ever sung in public, superb. RIP Fella, and thank you
As a Beatles lover, I can not relate to this particular view at all. nobody plays the Beatles' songs better than the Beatles did. Your statement is usually true of when a decent band covers a manufactured pop song like a britney spears one or something, and then you realise that the songs are acturally well made and it was actually just the image or connotation of the manufactured boy/girlband that was obstructing your judgment
@@annehajdu8654I'm Paul's biggest admirer and this is his song, but in terms of their songwriting qualities, the Beatles as a whole are a phenomenon. A miracle. Many of their songs are covered by big stars and they are always incredible covers like Santana's while my guitar gently weeps or Aerosmiths come together or Michael Jackson's version. Pat Methenie's instrumental of And I love her. And countless more. I only see this phenomenon with the Beatles. Their songs are all classics without exception. They are the greatest band ever for a reason. Edit: Earth Wind & Fire Got to get you into my life.
The Beatles are the only band I've ever could tell any of the four members voices instantly. Can you imagine what more they would have accomplished if they stick together. No band comes close to the Beatles. The stones are great but they still haven't caught the Beatles in their 60 years .
yeah! I have a hard time putting it into words but the tone of his voice is angelic! I always feel that way when i hear him. They say that humans can't hit the same octaves as an angel's choir. But George Michael hits certain tunes that make me cry.
@@mgamer327 I totally agree with you. His voice can’t just be described with words like “amazing” or “beautiful”. I could never understand why he didn’t get more recognition for it.
His hitting the correct key (a capella) right of the gate shows that he may have perfect pitch. That is so much higher a quality than mere relative pitch. Well Done, Mr. Michael. You've provided an energy source to millions over decades. No voice like yours will ever be with us again. Thank God for these videos.
Love to see Sinead O Connor there as a performer with a sense of humour, claiming the panties thrown on the stage as her tribute to George, whom she loved for his mental and business struggles, his talent and his integrity. George does a gorgeous job here , as ever.
NOT GONE! He managed to escape the insane world of commercial music by fooling the fools. He has a alternate presence online, but people have not caught on to his true identity. When you find him, you'll know.
Here we see a rare event, when the "Remake" is better than the "Original", George Michael had this ability, gift, to captivate, hypnotize his audience with his immense talent.
What a beautiful version of one of my favorite Beatles songs. I've never seen this version before, so I'm sobbing. I still can't believe George Michael is gone.
George Michael had it all. He must have really enjoyed his blessed life. Wonder where his soul is right now. A truly gifted singer, his voice was a blessing direct from God.
Gosh. What a beautiful, beautiful voice for a beautiful song. I was surprised he considered himself a songwriter first, then singer. Either way, I hear his purity and soul. We all miss you George. I pray you feel our love. xoxo
George could take any song and make it practically his own. Just listen to Somebody to Love or Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me. Fantastic singer. Sorely missed.
@@markgallagher1621 I agree. Brian actually asked him to do just that but George declined. He hates touring. We know that from his comments about the Faith tour. That would have been amazing though. Being asked to step in for Freddie is quite something.
@gcrosheffielduk I totally agree with you. He puts his own flavor and taste on everything. He's amazing and sexy. George will always be alive in my mind. I will love him forever🔥🔥💕💋
Believe it or not, this is the first time I have ever heard George Michael sing. He has such a lovely singing voice. Thanks for sharing this with all of us here..
Then check out the rest of his stuff. He is considered as one of the greatest voices of our time. If you like this one check out "Jesus to a child" which is unbelievable - I have no words.
I had the honor to be at Wham’s final concert, and it was still the best concert of my life. The talent and voice of this man can never be overestimated. Simply wonderful 💜
I saw him live in Montreal in the early 2000s: best live show ever. I hate it so much when I mention it and someone quips, "Ah, the Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" guy...
Omg I loved this talented, soulful, beautiful man so much. This gave me chills. It’s a song well suited for him; one of haunting, spiritual attachment.
Wow, I never heard this before...only George Micheal could do such a lovely cover. Oh how I miss this very talented, gifted man. 💔 Thankfully he left us with a large catalog of his music to enjoy.
George Michael was a unique talent in this world. His heart flowed effortlessly through every song he painted for the public. His rendition of Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me is a stunning masterpiece. For anyone who has lived through heartbreak that version illustrates what a soulful, empathetic, brilliant talent George Michael was. May he forever Rest In Peace ❤❤❤
It wasn't the public per se who was after him. His troubles started when he went up against Sony for the prices they charge the fans for concert tix. The press started on him and his sensuality after that prob sicked on him by Sony.
Got to be honest I’m not a huge Beatles fan anyway I like him but not fanatic about them. This version to me as a huge George Michael fan is such a beautiful and heavenly version of a great song. Well done George!
A sensational redition of a Beatles classic.. One of the tragedies of humanity is the purest and most inspiring things that could enrich our lives usually get overshadowed by the crazy, vile and ugliest events that plague society. It's true we need to be aware of all that's happening but maybe we could change more minds (and lives) for the better if we take a little more time to appreciate the gems around us and "smell the roses" once in a while.. RIP George ..and thanks for the memories
@@pandaman1968 I apologize if I upset anyone. I love George dearly and that is just my opinion. I listen or watch George's videos every day and I still cry. To me he is the kindest and most amazing man ever.
George Michael did justice to that song, there's not going to be another singer who makes that song better nor the Beatles did McCartney write the song there's not going to be others who will make that song the best and the greatest singer of it forever.
So he's chatting to the audience, and then he did that ... just an amazing voice attached to an amazing man, rest easy you legend, you were loved but maybe not enough.
