Sydney’s crowd has been so good this year

I was watching the 2005 Grand Final live from the big screen at Punt Road nearby when I was 10 years old. But even at that age in my mind, the idea of the Swans winning a premiership seemed unthinkable at the time. Both my parents were Swans supporters growing up when they were at South Melbourne, so many years watching without a premiership. But watching that Leo Barry mark, and the celebrations; the Swans even came to Punt Road to celebrate the win, I'll never forget it, it was unbelievable! 🤍❤

I loved this video, and as a diehard Swans supporter this was an amazing recollection of that drought breaking win.

Great video mate. I was 45 when this happened....it had been a long wait for me too....and it was one of the best days of my life! I have a good feeling about this year too. Go Swans!

Worth mentioning: only 4 clubs (of 12) actually qualified for finals throughout most of that drought. And then only 5 out of 14 clubs. Making finals was much harder. Swans were still rubbish but wanna acknowledge it was hard.

And ….. we should have won 2006 - some of the Eagles would not have passed the performance enhancing tests before the game ….. this was admitted to by the the Eagles years later ……. so I reckon Bloods should have that flag ….. 2006 will always be tarnished ……

I still don’t get why nobody discusses the fact that Kingsley Hunter’s goal was actually touched. It’s as clear as day. Not to mention the Leo Barry moment shouldn’t have happened: Cox pushed Jolly square in the back. Also: you might want to checkout your their, there & they’re again…
