The Shining/Doctor Sleep is a special case; the only reason it took so long to produce a sequel is because both movies are based on books of the same name, "The Shining" releasing in 1977, and "Doctor Sleep" releasing in 2013. We only knew about a sequel to the original book as early as 2009, so who knows how long he's had the idea vaulted for...
Do Not Forget About Batman As Well In 1966 Adam West Made His Own Batman Movie After The Movie DC Hadn’t Made A Batman Film For 23 Years But Count Adam West Movies Then Adam West Didnt Make A Batman Film Until 2016 & 2017 With Return Of The Caped Crusaders And Batman Vs Two Face Which Is 46 Years Because The Batman 66 Show Ended In 1968
I just realized the lead young girl from Doctor Sleep also played Lenore on Netflix’s the Fall of the House of Usher. I should’ve realized sooner considering Mike Flanagan regularly uses the same actors for his projects & they’re all one big family ❤
Dr. Sleep wasn't a sequel to the Kubrick film. It was a adaptation of the novel which used references to the 1980 film. Different studios made the films.
What are your thoughts on The Shining? I saw it a couple nights ago and the music made every scene tense and it had a all time acting performance by Jack Nicholson (imo)
I know you didn’t ask but here is my opinion. The Shining is the greatest horror movie of all time. I saw it when I was roughly 14 in 2004 and have been a fan ever since. It’s a perfect psychological horror film to me
@@kzking7804Phantom menace, Attack of the Clones and revenge of the sith are all prequels and if you consider them sequels why didn’t you say Phantom menace which came out before revenge of the sith
BAMBI (1942) to BAMBI MEETS GODZILLA (1969) - 'only' 27 years. And considering MEETS spartan dialog, action and music, some folks wonder "Why'd this take so long?"
Ah - you don't considered BAMBI MEETS GODZILLA (1969) a true sequel?!! There's Bambi - an animation... the credits role, the action starts... the end credits role. ha ha
doctor sleep isn't technically a sequel to the movie "the shining" it's based off a book which is obviously the sequel to the book the shining, but the book and movie are so vastly different that it does make a difference
Damn return of the Jedi and force awakens was a 32 year gap And revenge of the Sith and a new hope was a -28 year gap guess we are missing out on some movies
You gotta remember tho not every movie is made with the intention of ever making a sequel and that’s probably the reason for some of the long waits between movies
