Jackie doesn't sing, it is so much more than that. She shares her pure, sweet, innocent soul as no adult could or child does. She doesn't need "coaching" for that, there is no "potential" she will eventually grow into. She is matchless now. Divine indeed.
I have read articles that operatic singer have Technic when singing the high note more at ease when tilting their head a little bit to protect their vocal cord. Jackie have a good Doctor. We have high tenor and singers that damage their vocal cord. One latest popular 15 yrs old tenor, I notice having a sign,cracking her voice a little, hope she will be aware over using that good voice of her. JE is safe since she knows, when to rest her voice in her concert and adjusting high pitch in her performance. The most fascinating at young age, she developed good technique,and a mother guidance. Guided by Almighty,we know she is in good hands. We all pray that our angel be safe and in good health as she grow to her adulthood. Fans love you and proud of you,please never change and as you have said never be a jerk!.
she is Jackie ...it all works just fine.. she dances in her music.. she knows breathes her music from her toes up .. I believe though she is working through tonal variations of her growing up now

Ty papasmurfdad. Been waiting for someone to help me relive that night at Smith Center. Jackie is always word class, and I have not been a huge fan of this piece, but this is the performance that brought me to my feet. Sometimes she just soars.
My goodness...so much handwringing in the comments below about Jackie's voice. Fortunately, Jackie is now 15 and her voice is strong, smooth and she feels in complete control. Following a young singer requires some patience, and our patience has been rewarded. Too many people gave up on Jackie during her transition period, when her delivery may have been a bit inconsistent. Take a look at videos from her recent performance in Philadelphia for the World Festival of Families and you'll see/hear Jackie at her most confident and professional artistry.
You are so right. I was, once again , privileged to hear last month in Portland, where she gave a flawless preformance. This remains my favorite song and when she came out for her encore, this is what she sang. Totally captivating her audience, she just keeps getting better and better.

It's one of the fun things about a Jackie concert, besides the actual concert of course. Fans get together for lunch or whatever & some conversation (I'm sure you can guess who it's centered on :)) Many JE fans have communicated online in forums or chat, and for most it's their first in-person meeting. I believe Debra Crosby (Talent Quest)will be at this concert, as will Becky Keisel who does the KITC CC show. The get-together is prior to the concert, although some also meet after the concert.
Sometimes. I was at the Puyallup concert & had a m&g, which included a couple of pictures with Jackie and got an autographed poster. It was about 1 minute (wonderful experience). That was the last paid m&g and now it's done like a lottery, although not all venues have a m&g. Don't know yet if Portland is going to have one. You might enjoy these m&g pics. The venues with bad acoustics like this one should be fined. Jacky shouldn't be singing in places where the acoustics cannot reproduce her beautiful voice instead of it making it sound like she was singing in a baseball arena.... Jackie.. You will become the singer of this century...
I have a feeling the acoustics sounded much better in the actual arena than with whatever equipment this was recorded on and uploaded onto youtube with. It's a professional Hall built for this, so your comment probably doesn't hold a lot of weight.
The very best personnel recording that I have heard so far is the Dallas 2011 performance.I wonder what equipment he was using.Both the audio and video were much better than any other of this type of recording.
I think it will be an amazing special event for Jackie to perform a duet with Vanessa Mae, she is gifted violin artist. Suggest songs will be Nessun Dorma & Don't cry for me Argentina. Jackie didn't really "endorse" Guess, but rather modeled for them. This isn't wrecking her career, but has enhanced it & she's gaining many new younger fans. She sings for everyone, regardless of religious beliefs and lifts everyone's spirit. Some of her most ardent supporters are atheists. As far as singing best with hands free. she's quite versatile. Which she uses depends on the song she's singing. Major discussion on this on another forum. So please don't worry, she's doing just fine!

I'd like to see her hold that final note about twice as long than she does. Perhaps she can't. But if she can, she should. I think professional performers should give 100%, regardless of age.

Dear Jackie: With your natural ability and experience at your current age you have the potential of being one of the greatest operatic sopranos that every lived. But... from one professional opera singer to another, you need to drop your vocal coach and get a true operatic coach who can teach you how to enunciate as well as sing to your potential especially in your upper range. I have seen 'coaches' destroy singers by teaching bad habits. I love your voice and wish you great success.
That's ok, I know what you mean. Jackie was lucky enough to define herself at a very young age. That gives her huge advantage in life. She already chose. If she wants to change and become a rocket scientist - she still can do it. Dear God, why didn't you tell me to invest in Google 15 years ago. Time is money, time is youth, time hurts.
We can only hope that (very soon, I hope) Jackie's 'handlers' will refuse to let her appear in arenas that were made for basketball games, rock 'n roll concerts, and similar events that weren't designed for musicians, orchestras, and good singers. It's truly a desecration to have Jackie's voice subjected to such distortion as the echoes, etc. in this video.
I could not believe that it was Jackie Evancho - I KEPT WAITING to heaar that beautiful voice. Looks like bad coaching to me. Too much action with the hands and holding back on that beautiful voice. I have been following her since her lst tv appearances and she HAS an unbelievable voice---seems like coaches were holding her back. Just let her do what she has been doing since she was 9 years old. Her very 1st appearance was better that this. WONDERFUL TALENT-change coaches.
Joyce Thorn I think that's the point. They've made a conscious decision to tone it down a bit and not stretch her chords out too much. It's still good but they also have chosen a slightly different genre to record as well, if you notice. Smart, I think, not to push the envelope too much.
MoMoMyPup10 I believe there may be some truth to the toning down during her voice transition. But I heard this live last May when she was 14. Her transition was definitely OVER. Her voice reverberated throughout the theater. And that was with no chorus backup. She had my wife in tears and she wasn't even a Jackie fan when she went there. Then along came 'Awakening'. Anyone who listens to that and thinks her voice is weaker needs to get their ears checked. She soars on song after song on that album.
+Joyce Thorn You will keep waiting if you expect to hear the quality of her voice from a video that was recorded on a cel phone or similar device, as this was. These devices, generally, do not have the capability of fidelity over the range of her voice. Further, during this period of her life there is a concern about causing injury to the vocal cords as she grows more rapidly than she did as a child. I heard her live performance of this prayer on December 19, 2015, and she's doing just fine. I was seated about ten feet from her during the entire concert, and can tell you that she is now one of the most talented and gifted, beautiful, gracious, young women that I have ever seen as a performer. Yes, it's true that she is no longer the incredibly talented young child; but we all knew that was going to change. It did; she is now an incredibly talented young woman.
April 13, good. I worry that the Guess endorsement will wreck Jackie. Her greatness is partly based on her purity. Guess is a secular outfit interested only in money. Jackie, pure, is an inspiration. She lifts people's spirits regardless of our temporary problems or financial situation. She is uplifting........ she also sings best when her hands are free.

I had to cut this off in the middle because it makes me so sad. I have to say it that clear: Her managers and coaches have made it to kill the beautiful voice of that 10-, 11-year-old child prodigy she once was. In this video Jackie is only a shadow of her earlier days. It's a tragedy really.
If we don't support our very own Bel Canto Classical Soloist, who strives to sing beautiful songs beautifully to BLESS us, we don't deserve her. At 14 now Dormi Jesu, Ave Maria, Think of Me, Vocalise, Made to Dream, and many other songs are extraordinary. She has even made My Immortal a Bel Canto Classic.
?? Sorry, but I can't see the point in why I should have to be a FAN of Jackie Evancho to earn the right of commenting on her musical skills? Can u help? To me it seems that you simply have serious problems in respecting other peoples opinion, as far as it's different from your own. All I can say is: I listened to Jackie performing the very same song one and a half years before. And I really liked it. Whatever happend to her voice - it must have suffered severe damage. In the above performance she has to push her voice and cuts off the notes as if she hasn't enough air in her lungs to sing them fully. And: she doesn't hit the highest notes properly anymore. And that's something I realised in many of her newer videos on youtube. It's sad for her. Since she was such a hopeful talent.

While I do agree with your assessment of her performances when she was ten, eleven and twelve compared to this video, I am confident that, that glorious voice of her recent past will return as soon as she is through puberty.
brgilbert2 Don't waste your time trying to reason with her brother, Jackie IS a Phenomenon! At 15 now her voice is richer and fuller, which she demonstrated with Bocelli in Bangkok duet! There is more beauty to come from this wonderful creature... once past puberty watch out world!
I am a huge fan of Jackie Evancho but I must say that I think the first time she sang the Lords Prayer was better. She sang with a deeper register and her voice lingered in her throat more, plus she projected with more passion. It's almost as though she is holding back in this rendition. Don't get me wrong, she still sings exquisitely beautiful, but her more mature voice seems to have settled into more of a contrast between high and low notes, whereas her younger voice was more consistant and even and it was really pelted out more, so to speak. It gave me goosebumps to listen to her. But I'll take Jackie's voice any way as it is just gorgeous, but I wish she would study her first videos and she if she could capture that purer style of singing again. Just my opinion.

That's silly Mike. Jackie makes the perfect role model for young children. would you rather have Miley? Jackie is entitled to make money modeling. she is an angel not a nun. Guess is a good company that provides products people want and jobs for lots of people.
