The Flood is probably one of the best well developed game antagonist ever! The storyline and changes in behavior during the games is soo genius!

The reason Gravemind talks so much about the flood being "salvation" is because they want to start over building the galaxy by destroying all species. Though as they got more corrupted in their "dust" form, they've become incapable of doing it via "space magic", so they're probably just trying to get to the "Transgalactic stage" to basically become Precursors again and create new species that won't betray them like the Forerunners did, and have absolute control of the Galaxy, as they once did.

I guess stage 3 and 4 flood warrents the use of planetary destructive super weapons at this point. If not there's a multitude of ways to kill off the flood such as using Fire, Chemicals (like chlorine and mustered gas), and high intense radiation. Hmm...I wonder if after this series, your willing to do a follow up video or two on methods to defeating the flood? Would be interesting to see all the strategies and stuff that could be used, especially involving stage 3. :3

You should make a series behind everything in the series like this flood one. The Lore behind, UNSC, ONI, The Banished, The Covenant, Forerunners, Precursors, etc. This series has the potential to go a long way!

Well, could we technically say there isn't an uncoordinated stage now? With the inclusion of the Abomination forms before the coordinated stage, there is never really a point where the flood aren't coordinated in some way.

It's.... unsettling to say the least because this might actually be somewhere in our universe, you never know!

Hypothetically there's also a stage 0: controlled, being any flood cluster used for experimentation that is contained, these groups, without cycled sterilization, will inevitably break free, and for a stage 1, as we see in Halo 1.

Without master chief and the arbiter the flood would be common to see because master chief and arbiter took out like 80 or 90% of the flood without them the UNSC wouldn’t survive if the flood attacked them cuz there would be so many. They might even find earth, so basically master chief and arbiter are needed to keep humanity alive.

If you look into it then Hunters and the Prometheun Knights are best suited for dealing with flood. Hunters does not have CNS so they can't be infected by flood plus they have powerful defense and offence capabilities. Promethiun Knights are kind of robots so not organic and thus can't be infected plus they are freaking fast.

I think no matter what you do you can't stop the flood. All you can do is try to slow it down... So the flood will at one point take control of everything.

Honestly, With Flood Stage 4 already present outside the Milky Way (Cause that’s how The Precursors made the bioweapon from corrupting/weaponizing their own fellow Precursor Self Reincarnation Dust/remains), perhaps the Flood will reach the Star Wars region of the Universe someday. I know a long time has happened since the events of Star Wars cause it literally says, “Long ago, in a galaxy far far away” SO with the FACT that Flood have already reached Stage 4 outside of the Milky Way somewhere, its very possible that the Flood will reach the Star Wars region of the universe someday. I wonder how the Star Wars Galaxy will fare against the Stage 4 Flood when it arrives at their Galaxy’s borders. We know the Star Wars Galaxy is old and rich with tons of history but unlike them, we have lots of experience with the Bioweapon known as the Flood Parasite. 343 and LUCAS may communicate after its already too late. The Star Wars Galaxy is going to need our help and knowledge on how to defeat the Flood someday. Stage 4 already happened. The Flood came from outside the Milky Way Galaxy. They are a created bioweapon by the Precursors (who are 4 Dimensional beings) using the self reincarnation dust/3 Dimensional bodily remains of Precursor avatars. The Flood came to our galaxy from outside. Stage 4 is how they arrived here. After arriving they started again at stage 1 as you stated in the video. Forerunners stopped them at stage 3 as we know. Fact: our nearest Galactic Neighbor is The Andromeda Galaxy. The Path Kethona Galaxy also has strong Precursor presence there in the form of physical artifacts and structures. The UNSC has too much to do within The Milky Way to be bothered rn with Path Kethona or Andromeda BUT if the story leaders play their cards right and milk the books and the Milky Way for as much games as they can get out of our current halo stories, then perhaps one day we can militarily pioneer a Human expansion beyond The Milky Way into Andromeda and Path Kethona to eliminate the stage 4 Flood there. But that won’t be enough. This next part is speculation: I believe the Flood haven’t wasted time and instead have gone beyond Path Kethona and Andromeda to our 3rd closest perhaps. It’s not unreasonable or without merit. Fact: Luckily for us, within Milky Way Borders, The Flood has been mostly secured and contained (but not defeated). The UNSC has A LOT of work to do with regards to this Galactic and eventually Universal Flood problem created by the Precursors. Fact: We should not have seen the last of the Flood yet. “There’s much to do”

You say they hit interstellar only once? From what I understand at least, is that they also hit that stage in Halo 3, when they took control of High Charity. I could be wrong though.

That transgalactic phase bit gave me a very odd mental image of a Flood galactic invasion fleet running into the Tyranid hive fleet from Warhammer 40k...and instead of trying to eat each other, incredibly sappy romantic music starts playing.
