In the world of formalwear, the phenomenon you are describing is called "sprezzatura" which is basically, 'looking like you arent trying to look good in the clothes you are wearing, however you meticulously laid out your entire outfit." The word comes from the days of palace courts where it was considered "gauche" or in modern terms "tryhard" to dress too much like you were trying to impress everyone, so that the clothes were wearing you instead of the other way round. 'Hoodying' I guess is the streetwear version of Sprezzatura. Thrifting would be another method of sprezzatura, since wearing some cool pre-loved barn finds looks more natural and nonchalant than walking around in a gleaming new outfit that you clearly just bought.

Highly recommend to check if the hoodie will fit under your jacket, parka, etc if you live in the colder climate. See if you can zip the jacket and not look like a stuffed sausage roll and feel uncomfortable and if you can move your arms properly. Obviously that's not the reason to not to buy the one you like but it's something to take in consideration. Comfort > drip when the snow is crunchy.

I'm not talking about collabs but mixing fashion mortal enemies up and stepping out. I, due to my OCD; need to make a conscious effort on making sure that everything matches with at least collabs. Due to a recent house fire, I wound up having only extra clothes I couldn't fit nor was rotating out of and potentially donating in my car; a had a Palace hat amongst that and built off of that with Adidas and Ralph Lauren Polo because they both collabed with Palace. I have seen a few hoodies I own here and I’m quite pleased with myself and such - because I LITERALLY have a gospel of hoodies. I have at least 25 and try to find the best “example” of every type of hoodie I have. I really count the Speedhunters one - that exact one - as one of the standouts - the neck snap is really cool and that shit is like armor. Good in Chicago by itself until December.
