I don't know why, but I find the whole bearded player who other players are talking about that isn't even a player (with the necessary added citation) hilarious.
I'm taking a week off either in April for my birthday or in mid-May when I'm going to Mexico (haven't decided which yet), so I figured I'd upload today so I don't get punished too harshly by the almighty algorithm
I’d like to think the bearded mystery man from 46 is Rupert with like, sunglasses on or some really generic item that makes no one realize it’s him like some cartoon/comedy sketch.
Im very glad Jared was on big brother where we could see all the horrible stuff he had to say instead of on survivor where it would've been mostly cut out
The name Maureen came from the fact that Mark Burnett was on a news show in 2001 promoting the Survivor Borneo book. AO had just started production and he said that a 40 year old mom named Maureen had dropped out last minute due to being afraid.
Assuming he doesn’t immediately spill that Cirie is his mom, the other Goliaths trying to figure out why a dumb exterminator who says “fuck” and “bro” 6 times a sentence was put on the Goliath tribe would have been funny.
I feel like people forget that this tribe also had Natalie, Jeremy, Mike White and mother flipping Angelina This tribe was not chill well rounded adults even though Angelina was a selfless, 800 foot ladder climbing queen
Jared “I just started viewing women as people a few months ago” Fields. Hobbies include: Nepotism, Misogyny, Cheating on his girlfriend, Cutting people off in conversation (especially women)
honestly her being on aussie survivor instead might have benefitted her legacy ?? i do like her but the fact of the matter is she isn't a particularly big personality so she probably would've been lost in the shuffle and potentially considered a disappointment in a cast with as many great characters as dvg. instead, she got put on a season with one of the worst casts in any survivor ever, was tragically medevaced during a time in the game where she was super well positioned but went out early enough that she didn't have a particularly big target headed into her return season, leading to a deep run for her there
This would be so fun, and I've actually tried to do research for this exact subject. But there's a shocking amount of alternates who got on, and every time I think I've uncovered all the alternates someone else confirms they were an alternate at some point or another!
@@IdoledOut Maybe you could make a video on the top 5 most "successful" alternates? Sort of a counter to your earlier video about the top 5 players who didn't want to play Survivor?
@@IdoledOut Trish Hegarty was an alternate for One World, Daniel Strunk was an alternate for Millennials vs. Gen X, and Kellie Nalbandian was an alternate for 43.
Great video! I was actually watching one of your old videos when I got this notification, lol. I am kind of suprised the original Sabrina Thompson wasn't on the list, but maybe I'm wrong and she doesn't fit here. Anyway, I hope you have an amazing day, Luke
It was unclear to me if original Sabrina was just in casting, or if she'd already been cast, and I couldn't find the original interview where Sabrina mentions this to confirm. Probably would have been worth a mention though!
Melissa will always be a big “What-If” in Survivor lore. In hindsight, her dropping out might have been a blessing in disguise. They were originally going to divide the tribe by race again like they did in Cook Islands. Doing that once raised a lot of eyebrows, if they did that again, the show probably would have been cancelled.
...Is that confirmed? I mean when have they ever done the same season theme twist twice in a row? I was under the impression at the time that they did a 25% white/black/Hispanic/Asian cast for Fiji just to prove a point that they didn't just cast so many racial minorities last season for the tribes by racist twist.
I mean, personally my thought is just that it's more of a blessing she dropped out pre-game than that she tried to force herself into the game. Like, she could've had an even worse mental health situation if she was actually dealing with the game itself ongoing too.
Another one: Da'Vonne was cast for survivor but was dropped bc they wanted her for BB. I can't remember if it was her returning season or her first (I think returning), so she would've been in either Kaoh Rong's cast or a part of MvGX/pre-Game Changers theme. She's talked about it before but recently talked a bit in depth about it on her yt channel.
Survivor 40 was originally supposed to be rivals until they changed it to all winners at the last minute I wasn’t to crazy about a rivals season however I think it would be interesting personally I think they should have waited until season 50 to do an all winners season & that could have been like the final season personally I feel survivor has already ended
I feel bad for Troyzan. He could've gotten his return in BvW with his brother, then didn't get voted in to 2nd Chances. They really need to find a way to bring him back for another season.
There's a player by the name of Joel, who got cut on survivor Gabon and similar to Troyzan, had all his stuff sent to Gabon but was then called a day or two before boarding a plane that he had been cut.
I researched this a bit and Adam's always been (understandably) a little coy about it. I reached the conclusion they were in the casting process and almost certainly got deep, but never officially cast. I should have brought all this up as a possibility in the video, though!
Funny how the last second drop in Worlds Apart probably made the season exponentially worse off (pending how Willie Gault is as a person of course), but then the DvG one made it considerably better off with Davie instead of Jared.
@nathandanczak7822 Rodney and Dan were real bad sure, but if Willie Gault was pleasant then it would have been at least a bit less mean spirited (no Shirin/Will incident). Personally I liked Davie and would be all for him returning one day if Survivor was actually willing to bring back pre-new era players.
@awesometrax Than the fight would just either expand to dan or another person if shirin constantly talking as a victim and butting in other's faces with it still happens(it would have). Davie 's only real character was that he was slightly amusing about his strategy talk. So no character,(and pretty much every survivor since post Kaoh-rong filiming).
@@nathandanczak7822It was pathetic how America felt sorry for Shirin and voted her into Second Chances OVER CAROLYN. Shirin's edit early on pretty much told us she wasn't an endgamer. All because of that incident.
For Worlds Apart, I believe that Willie Gault dropping out is also what got Will on season to take Tyler's place on the No Collar tribe. He was originally supposed to be on the Amazing Race with his wife, which makes ALOT more sense given he was terrible at strategizing and the physical challenges. I think after observing the cast, the show was desperate to try and find a Black contestant and decided on Will as a sudden recruit.
Yeah as you said 'Alternates' as they are only cast members if someone get pulled from the show. the annoying thing was season 42 and I think 43 someone was pulled for medical issues after the start really how long are you casting between each season?
Melissa from Fiji I think inadvertently saved Survivor because 100% Survivor was going to do the Race Twist from Cook Islands again and there was a chance it might've had a lot more controversy going in Survivor's direction if it had happened again
There’s one theory that the 46 alternate was Feras from this most recent Australian Survivor season, which I doubt is true but doesn’t mean I can still hope it is
didn't earl also replace somebody last minute? jeff talked about it at the reunion. earl was literally called a day or so before everyone was to fly out, just like davie was. and the only thing we can say for sure about the guy earl replaced is he was a Black man, since fiji was originally going to run the same race divided twist that cook islands ran, but melissa mcnulty's quit threw that whole thing into chaos.
Wasn't there a girl named Carey Schueler who was picked for Thailand? She was pulled and replaced with Penny, because she violated the non-communication rule before the game started.
Love the vídeo! I was an alternee on the netflix hit "The Circle Brazil", spent 1 month in UK to shoot and "fortunetely"didn't make the final cut. 3 years later I realized my dream to be part of my favorite show ever, I was cast to the 6th season of the brazilian version of survivor: "No Limite". God's time is always right, trust and believe.
@IdoledOut I feel like I know the mystery women from Australian Outback. The choreographer for a show I did in high school mentioned that she was initially going on survivor Australian Outback but ultimately decided not to. I think her daughter told me the reason was because she didn’t want to wear a bikini. Honestly I feel like this mystery women and the women I know are one in the same.
Jimmy Kelleher probably wasn’t brought back because according to Figgy from Mil Vs. Gen X he caused a lot of drama and production doesn’t cast people like that for the new era post Covid. If I remember correctly he was going around calling her a threat saying that she was on Survivor and that she needs to go, shit taking and arguing.
