10:34 Ah yes, the immortal 755 tone of death! Have a feeling when I get to see one up close that I am probably either going to leap in the air or fall down on my......

A very poignant video - you should do a video with Paul and Rebeca seeing you mentioned a disused station

Brilliant video Sarah, that accident was tragic indeed, it's a good thing safety standards have improved over the years really. It's nice to see the old footbridge is still there. :)

This was a really interesting video, thank you 🙂 (Also, as someone who lives near "the other Yarmouth" I got confused for a moment even though I'm nowhere near Norwich)

Thanks for this video. My grandparents used to live nearby and I can remember as a small boy in the very early 80s being taken for a walk down to the Whitlingham bridge to watch the trains go by.

Great story. Thank you for highlighting this story. I came up with this a few years ago and if I ended up with a headstone (probably not), I'd choose it. In one hundred years, I'll be forgotten. Do you know what? I think that's rotten! Good to see the story living on. I looked at the old maps too wondering what else was round there that might attract the siting of a station. A number of wharfs and "plantations"? Was that Logging? I see there was also a ferry across the river at one time too. I suppose they were just speculating on the village growing larger eventually. With the housing boom Norwich is suffering from now, maybe they could do with another station around there sometime.

That old map is great showing the "Asylum" lol. The building still stands and is flats now I believe.

that former station with the footbridge looks like a great place to film trains for a few hours in the summer & that area looks very peaceful & quiet & brilliant shots of the 755s passing including that one with the honk brilliant vlog

I really enjoy the discovery of a disused or abandoned station. There are definitely remnants of a platform down there. I wonder if the drivers know there was once a station at that point. As someone who has been with you from your first RU-vid film, I think it's wonderful to see your channel doing so well. I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year. You seem happy, and that's good.

Great video sarah. Have a look at getting a muff for your microphone. It will stop the wind in your videos. Thanks for sharing the info.

Ironically a second line of track had been installed along the route at the time of the accident and was just awaiting approval by the Board of Trade. The members of staff involved had become accustomed to 'stretching' the rules to accommodate a lazy way of working, at a time when every second counted their slack working accounted for a tragic accident.
