It was an honor and a privilege to work with you again, sir. Hopefully this isn't the last, though you've moved across the pond. Keep on gaming!

This was a very fun episode. Many years ago, I had a text adventure called Demon's Tomb, which I spent many hours on but never got terribly far with.

Well you've done it, AGG. You've made playing a game with no visual component very watchable, a feat I would've thought impossible going into this! At least without, like, lots and lots _and lots_ of stock footage to help illustrate what image the text descriptions were trying to convey. But y'know what? Simply playing with a partner like Mr. Melzer actually makes for a pretty entertaining vid. And you didn't even play anything crazy like _Questprobe featuring the Hulk_ (which I only know about thanks to VGJunk's hilarious and ridiculous write-up on it for his blog about a decade ago). I feel like figuring out how to show off text adventures in video form warrants some kind of "RU-vidr Leveling Up" ceremony, lol.

That was exactly our concern. How do you make text on a screen interesting? I'm glad you think we pulled it off. Thank you!

Psychonara here. Not usually the account I use to comment on your vids. Just wanted to say that I'm happy to see how far your channel has come. I remember discovering your reviews when you had only a couple hundred subscribers. There's a few newer uploads I need to catch up on, so I'll be sure to leave some extra feedback. Keep up the good work, brother. :)

I had a great time doing the other part! I'm glad we could delve into my childhood obsession on the channel, and it turned out really well. I hope some of your viewers check out these games, some of which are in the public domain now.

@@NoNDEFanfilms Cheers Scott, really happy how it turned out! I totally underestimated how involved text adventures can be, and how little of them we got through after so many hrs...

Gotta love more Adventure Game Geek content. I have yet to play any Infocom games. Always wanted to.

Well if you'd like to play any we used Windows Frotz as interpreter and worked great!

Great content, as always. Your outfit has never looked mor on point 😄 Y'know, all these little extras they include in these packages really make me a bit envious of this gaming era. Must have been such an immersive experience Great content, as always.

It was an amazingly hard puzzle at the time. "Back in the day" there weren't videos or on-line help at all. I remember wandering through the maze for a couple of days, and when I finally figured out to drop items it still took hours. Very different times!

An iron on transfer is such an amazing idea. You think you would see more of that, the free advertising is worth the 50 cents it probably takes to make.

For the record I didn't actually use that transfer just got a t-shirt mocked up!

Nice video AGG! Next video should be a 72 day marathon where you play through all 20 games without walkthrough until you pass out. ;)

Moonmist is one of the Infocom games I really want to play, so I forced myself to turn off the video before too much was revealed :) The one at the top of my list was Trinity, which i played a couple of months before, and it really stuck with me. Both story-, and puzzlewise. It's amazing how polished the later Infocom games feel. Still, the one people keep on talking about is Zork, which is a nostalgic gem but almost unplayable.
@AdventureGameGeek
@AdventureGameGeek Год назад
Well I don't think we revealed too much in Moonmist tbh, at least we didn't solve any of the clues!

I find it hilarious I just watched Get Lamp this past monday as well as the Infocom documentary. I always wanted to play through a text adventure but cant ger far. Trying to guess what and how the game wants you to put into words how to advance gives me a headache. I did play Stories Untold though which is phenomenal game but I will admit its not really a genuine text adventure. It was close enough for me and I was able to complete it so I tried Zork but didn’t get far.

The last time I looked at anything I wrote in the late 80s-early 90s it read like all the text adventures I'd been playing. I thought people wrote like that in the real world. I'm pretty sure a pile of leaves made it in there somewhere.

I wish the awesome iOS-version of TLTOI would get a 64-bit patch for newer iPads. They should also port it to Windows.
