I still have my very first lottery ticket from 1974. 50 years playing and I've won nothing substantial. I did see a UFO once, that felt like winning the lottery. Still, I keep playing.
I can't believe that a friend would feel so entitled that you should give them money because you won a lottery. I do like the idea of asking said friend to borrow a substantial amount of money. Their reply will say it all.
Nobody needs a "substantial amount of money".. so if you win the lotto and anyone ever asks you for more than a few thousand $$, whether family or friends, then they don't care about you and only see you as a cash grab. If you really think about it.. literally, NO ONE should ever need a large amount of money when asking for it. It's not your responsibility to pay for people's debts. Maybe for a few very close immediate family members if you want.. but def not for just friends. If they truly care for you, they'd know never to ask for something like that of you. Doesn't matter if you could easily afford it. It's not about that. It's about basic human decency and respect.
If you earn a million dollars a year, you're a millionaire. If you win a million dollars, you're not a millionaire. In my state they take 40% off the top. You end up with 600,000 out of 1 million. Careful planning will make it so you're comfortable. At least I don't have to work anymore.
Earning a million a year is not a millionaire. You could owe 2 million. What you have of value minus what you owe would determine if you are a millionaire.
If you earn a million a year for 5 years with taxes taken out you would have 3 million. Determines how you spend. If you spend 30,000 a year you would be a millionaire.
If everyone in town knows you're the lotto winner and all of sudden some young woman pops out of nowhere saying she's into you.. yup.. if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck.. then it's a duck. I smell a gold digger for sure! I hope he doesn't marry her or there goes 1/2 the money of his investments.
@@andrewweisneck1102 Yeah I noticed that, but in Brazil we never had a show like that cuz lottery winners here are all anonymous so it's really interesting to watch a show about it.
[ 15:00 ] _"....the state took half right off the top, and then they tax your half. So, we actually only put about $1.8 in the bank."_ Doesn't sound right. The "state" doesn't take half and then tax another half of that..... That would total 75% of your winnings taxed. I'm guessing that on a $5.4 million win, the amount you receive if you took the "lump sum" would be $3 million and *change, maybe even less. So,* it wasn't the state that took half, it was the decision to receive the lump sum.
The one man said it all and imam 63 with a terminal disease and have seen a lot in my life … I have never been rich monetarily..I have worked very hard…I have have earned a decent living a long with my husband ..we moved to Florida 2 years ago to a pool home…nothing super fancy , but just what we need a place that our friends and family come to…and the one man said…if you have your family and your health you have it all…and that is the truth …that is happiness…. We are dealing as best as we can with my illness…but we love each other…we have great family friends and furries….and I am so blessed …I have the best husband…my best friend So if you never win the lottery, that’s ok …because the best things in life are free….❤❤❤❤
how long does it take to get your check from a scratcher? Do they do a direct deposit? Tim Schultz has a RU-vid channel interviewing winners of all prizes, maybe consider being on his show
@@myopinion6092 Exactly. Not one major lottery winner has done media coverage since 2019, the last major lottery winners to do media are the Robinsons from Mumford Tennessee who went on the Good Morning America show at the order of their attorney who just wanted the PR for himself and his daughter in 2016. And Leryenne West in 2018 when she went on Ellen and Mike Weirsky in 2019 on inside edition to talk about his divorce. For the most part they don’t air their lives anymore due to advice from attorneys.
Lottery winners get confused between dumb luck and earning millions. When you earn millions you have financial acumen. When you win it, you have to take the time to learn financial acumen, most don't take the time to do it.
@ryendill3146 I did! I saw it many* years AGO. It still doesn't make sense for multiple reasons. I guess strategic thinking and common sense isn't a thing for y'all.
@@i000_ that’s my family. Literally my dad. All that product was never used or bought because someone else bought out that design. It all ended up getting thrown away!
21:46 This makes no sense to me. How can you expect anonymity when you are blasting your story on national TV? It's like, "Hey! I'm over here now!" 29:35 Telling "everyone" he meets that he won the lottery seems a little arrogant. Like I won and you didn't. "Ok? So are you gonna give me money then?" And showing the cards just seems flamboyant. I prefer lottery winners who create positive change in their communities by setting up a foundation to create community social events, or a non-profit organization to help the less fortunate with food banks or educational resources.
Millionaire status means you have more than one million. You spend money. Technically you could earn 75,000 a year on your million. You could only spend that much without cutting into your million. You wouldn't be living as a millionaire. Most millionaires spend more than one million a year.
Probably about the same thing. She paid for them back then. Especially especially because disney has become the third anti christ 😂 I'm an antique dealer, a lot of that stuff that people collect like that.Turns out not to be worth so much after a while especially in the economy like this .
She is crazy to think the Disney pieces will be worth a lot. I could barely give mine away when I left NY in 2021….ppl don’t collect anything anymore…my Emmet Kelly’s, Norman Rockwell and Precious Moments are practically worth nothing….I see some being sold at Goodwill stores..literally makes me ill. All the pcs I collected…worth nothing….. So STOP wasting your money and invest in something else. I know you have money to throw away …but if you are doing this for your daughter you are making a big mistake ,…in fact Disney stock has gone way down with their support of the Woke movement…
