What was your favorite track off The Loveliest Time?!

i really loved the loveliest time, there was something about it that felt more "real" than the loneliest time, i have to agree that psychedelic switch is THE best omfg! 😍

I´m obsessed with THE LOVELIEST TIME. And it made me listen to almost all her discography. Why have I neglected Carly´s music all this time?? I´m loving each one of her albums.

I’m excited to listen to this again. Her songs are like tea, they get better as they steep. The drum work is standing out for me with a nod to 90’s underground artists.

I'm a casual Carly Rae Jepsen fan and missed a bunch of her post-"Emotion" albums, so "The Loneliest Time" was my first in a long time where I checked in with her. The one thing I will say is that she's someone who grows on me with each listen, so I'm not quite at saying "The Loveliest Time" is better... yet. With that said, once I listened to "The Loneliest Time" a few times I really came to appreciate what she was doing. I think the fact that I was smiling and dancing along to "The Loveliest Time" upon first listen gives me optimism that it'll be another grower that in two months will be a new favorite. There;s something about her inflections and harmonies that just hit the sweet spot. "Psychedelic Switch" is an early standout for me. It's crazy to think that 10 years ago she might've been written off as a one hit wonder and now keeps releasing some of the most infectious pop I've heard the past few years.

Psychedelic Switch is, along with A&W, the best song of the year so far for me 🤗👌🏻

So Right was written and produced with her boyfriend, and I really really need an entire album of just the two of them.

As someone who didnt enjoy loneliest time on a first listen, loveliest time got my ears instantly and after i finished i consider my favourite album of the year (so far) 🧡 it has so many great songs, Carly needs more recognition from people, because most still think she is only the call me maybe girl and it pisses me off so much

Okay…I haven’t watched the video yet…but I just wanna say that this is (albeit only 24 hours after release) like one of my favorite pop albums I’ve heard in a LONG time 😭 I’m a dramatic person so idk how I’ll feel a month from now but I’m blown away I love her SO MUCH

Love this breakdown.....the more I listen to this album the more I feel like I just need to play it from start to finish. It's an absolute home run and Carly deserves so much kudos for this funky and experimental take on typical pop music. I CANNOT GET ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!

i feel like this album has a slight shift from her mainly 80s/disco/pop influenced sound which excites me a lot for her future albums!!

Psychedelic Switch is other worldly

Oh my god! I am so ashamed, I took a break from social media and the internet in general and had no idea Carly released a New album despite being a Stan. I love your video essays, you understand music and pop culture ❤

You come out with these analysis so fast, I don't have time to catch up.😂 Having heard the album now two times, I think this is THE Carly album for me. From the track list, to the length of the album (13 tracks, 43 minutes? Chef's kiss!) The waaay more ambitious and experimental production. It might be the recency bias, but I think this is up there with emotion side b for me for my favorite Carly albums. Favorite tracks atm: shy boy, psychedelic switch, put it to rest and stadium love (but honestly, every song except maybe aeroplanes is GOATED imo) Definitely in my top 5 of the year so far! Love your hard work and dedication during this trying time for the industry you work in, let's hope art prevails in the end.

I really love both sides. Loneliness has so many measured, touching and personal tracks that give me chills. They're delicate and introverted. Loveliest is boundlessly confident. I'm so excited for her. A fantastic addition to her world I hope she does more tour dates to give us the new songs live!

Stadium love is my favourite that guitar is godly and psychedelic switch is pretty good .

I just wanted you to know I'm still here watching your videos as you release them, but watching them on my TV where I can't comment. I also have been meaning to say since I saw this last month, respectfully can't say this is better than the Loneliest Time, especially context (the world) to art (the actual music) wise, since the Loneliest was such a cosmic match for me. Maybe I have to give it another try but I think Jessie Ware's album this year really set the bar for high for what I want from this new disco as it continues to evolve. Jason Mraz even took on that mantle a bit and I think he did an enjoyable job of it so by the time I got Carly's I was looking for something to up the anti on it and didn't gat that. And this is coming from someone who plays the entirety Dedicated on what feels like bi-weekly now, so I hope that explains my taste. Looking forward to the rest of your Ariana series and I'd love to see you take on more questions about the pop world and pop music and a larger variety of music making girlies and movers and shakers.

I can't in good conscience call it AOTY when 'Desire, I Want To Turn Into You' was also released this year. I really liked The Loveliest Time though!

Haven't listened to the album yet but this has me very excited! Loved The Lonliest Time

It doesn’t quite meet the loneliest time, but enjoyed most of the tracks.

Wdym, Put it to Rest is one of her best songs. it’s the most experimental of the bunch tho and it’s one of the slower songs, so I understand why some won’t appreciate the track.

I'm not a fan of this album as a whole. There's only 6 songs that I like on the album: Kamikaze, After Last Night, Psychedelic Switch, Come Over, So Right & Aeroplanes. This is her worst album imo cause i dont like many of the songs on it. I give it a 5/10 cause a lot of the songs on the album just don't sound good to me. which is disappointing cause I love Carly hopefully I'll like her next album a bit better.

Dare I say her most consistently excellent album since Emotion??? 🫣 Every single song was a HIT.
