I don’t usually care much for bmws but this one is pretty good looking! The taillights being so small and far apart from each other makes the rear look… special though
the s58 engine alone is worth its weight in gold if you know anything about engineering, it wont be hard to get 700hp+ out of it with just ecu tuning, as its already been done on m3
@@Artyom_P 700 would be easy to get, but then the car starts wearing through the drivetrain quickly. Twisting the frame becomes a possibility over time as well.
Twisting the frame? Lol no sorry, that's not going to happen with anything under 1200hp if at all. And as far as wearing through the drive train...all the parts are rated around 900hp capacity.
Oh and please add the “laser lights” to this new M2, those have a stunning visibility on the latest m4 g82, im sure you can do this on the new M2 too🙏🏽
When can we see the full performance parts list. Interested to find more about the performance exhaust with the adjustable sound settings and the frozen golden wheels.
The drive-train in this is amazing, but come on, you guys can't really think this looks that great, do you? I'd love all of this in the previous M2, minus the full digital dash. Honda Civic exhaust lol. I do want that center locking hub fitted on my F80.. 🫒 And, I do love the manual option still (=
@fightmeirl - you’re the first to compare the exhaust to a Civic. Well, there’s always a first. I think the exhaust looks great and it’s a real exhaust...ahem...Audi...MB...
BMW marketing be like: Yo, listen up here's a story About a little guy That lives in a M world And all day and all night And everything he sees is just M Like him inside and outside M his house With a M little window And a blue M2 And everything is M for him And himself and everybody around Cause he ain't got nobody to listen to
This happens with EVERY new model, everyone hates it for the first year then it becomes your favorite car after you let it soak in. This one will grow on you as well, as all the others did. Just don’t fight it hahah
how does this best a camaro ss 1le ? especially considering the thousandSS of dollars in savings not to mention lack of turbo lag and lack of heat soak on the measly American muscle
It's amazing to see Elvis from Wheeler Dealers appearing for the BMW M2 review and it's capability. The styling is a love it or hate thing imo. The previous M2 styling was amazing and visually stunning stunning.
Everyone always has negative things to say. I love the body style. Looks need to transform year after year. It is the customers they are doing this for after all. You people forget bmw wouldn’t be anything without millions buying their cars. That goes for any company.
Hi, I'm trying to buy something that will instantly lose value once they launch the inevitable competition model a year or two later. Any recommendations?
Light snow with Michelin PSS or better, PS4S. But this shouldn’t be your only car if you live in the snow belt. Not enough ground clearance. I own a 2019 M2Comp as my summer car.
When is the competition model coming out. I wish you guys had all the model versions out right up front at debut. Now I have to wait a year or two for the Comp because it’s the model I’ll be getting.
Main deal breaker is that It is still offered in manual, great job. Im glad that car like this still exists, after graduation I would like to buy one, also glad to see Brno circuit in video :D. P.S. After that crazy demand for GR Yaris. I just want to say that I think there is big enough market for a bimmer that drives nimble like e30 m3 - Car as light as It gets even thought It will not be luxurious, car with atmospheric motor even 4 cylinder and hydraulic steering rack rather than eletric. But main and only thing car as light as possible only with obligatory safety features to pass regulations, just form follows function.
The edit cuts are far too quick, car isn't on screen long enough to look at it. Why does this feel like something that's aimed at the tik tok generation? Slow it down with a bit more tasteful and cinematic camera work please. Also way too many closeup zooms, felt like watching a Bollywood drama with all the constant camera cuts and zooms.
@@fallschirmjager0000 do you have a life? I see you answering on 3 BMW M comments. If you don’t like this car that’s fine but nobody cares especially BMW
It has a twin turbo, forged pistons, lower compression, and another 500rpm on the red line. It's going to be able to make significantly more power than the B58 in the m240i.
@@ToneysReviews that pretty much is going to matter in 0-60 times. It'll probably be pretty close due to traction. Though I'd expect the new m2 will walk away pretty quickly once traction is no longer in play.
@@franklaszlo9227 the m240i dog walks the last gen of the m2. The new m2 comes with the same engine as the m3/etc. Unless, the weight loss helps the m2 it is more than likely going to be slower off the line. Which means that it's only advantage maybe in the rolling start and/or the track. However, the m240i when retuned is extreme fast in those other two categories as well. BMW did a great job on an under rated car. The biggest downside to the m240i is that it lacks a manual trans.
@@ToneysReviews that basically reiterated what I just said. 0-60 will be close, but once traction isn't an issue, the S58 is going to be much faster than anything with a B58. I own a built N55 M2 in the 450WHP territory, I've put it up against many (stock) m240i's on the track and the result is always the same. The m240i is fast, and the B58 has a lot of tuning potential, but it's not going to stand a chance against the new M2 with its S58 engine.
The Reference in the Compact-Class is now already the 2021_M240i X-Drive. The 2020_M2-Comp. and M2 CS to follow as next, could be a difficult Job for this Car. Wish him best...
This is what I’d expect any 2-series model to look like. There’s nothing M about it. I thought M meant aggressive, sporty styling and performance. The latter may be there but it just doesn’t look the part.
You guys are just telling us stuff we can literally see with our eyes. Can you place give us information on the engine for people like me that want to track it and push it to its limits? Is it a closed deck? What fuel types are available to use? Are we going to have to pay for heated seats as a monthly subscription? I already know what the thing looks like. I want to know if it’s going to be a regrettable purchase and if the engine is going to blow up when I push it to its limits
BMW designers are some of the worst around. How you can go from the amazing F series and the OG M2 to this is beyond dumb. The car looks horrid from every angle.
I really didn't like the design at first because of the pictures, but seeing it live at the M-Festival really changed my opinion. Really beautiful car in person, with great performance
hoping an iteration 'maybe a comp version' is release with xdrive similar to the m3, m4, as xdrive is just doing something else in the 2023 model year of the m3 m4, but aren't as compact a car as the m2. though with the m2 being the smallest and likely the lightest having the same s58 engine it might be a better and cheaper track weapon, which i guess goes against the whole numbered system.
