When I arrived to Ishgard for the first time as a FFXIV sprout i decided to check out machinist... Support me: Twitter: / birdcyclops Patreon: / adanarts Soundcloud: / adanarts
Reminder: the soul crystal you also get is empty and new, so all that jumping and back flips you do, they're your own spin on how all future machinists should be shooting. Machinists are basically recreating that one lobby scene from the Matrix.
My WoL: "Okay, getting framed for...that...was awful, and I never want to do anything even remotely illegal again." My WoL, 10 minutes after he enters Ishgard: "Greatsword? Kill the knights in town? Yes please!"
Upon arriving to Ishgard as a political refugee, the Warrior of Light immediately learned three disciplines 1. Vigilante with big sword 2. Heretic with a divining tool 3. Revolutionary with a gun
Lol without having played machinist it sounds like the AST quest line lv 30-60. “Why are we constantly being targeted by assassins from nobles?!” “Because I’m handing out means of power (knowledge) to the inferiors”
I love how at the start of HW they ask you to not cause trouble then if you become a MCH you immediately attempt to create a shift in the social class system.
"You do realize that was the Warrior of Light you just gave a gun to, right?" "The who?" "The known champion of Eorzea? The feller of primals and savior of many across the world?" "Oh... so how's that flamethrower attachment coming along?"
i wanted astro despite having 0 healing experience whatsoever bc i tried on one of the weapons I could craft as a goldsmith, and my au ra girl holding one of those while wearing a suit made me feel very gay
Remember, it's not a gun that makes you a Machinist. Pirates, Garleans, and even the the ancient Allagans have all been using guns for a long time. What makes a Machinist a Machinist is the tools they use alongside the gun. So don't forget your lunchbox.
The aether condenser they wear at the hip is essentially a continuously renewable supply of ammo too. It’s essentially an infinite ammo cheat for aetheric giants like the WoL.
@@cobalt968 I learnt recently as well (few months ago), that Thancred has to reload his gunblade normally, but we can just make the guns rounds appear Aetherically
@@wilcowhiteheart807 Your 1, 2, 3 combo as Gunbreaker is essentially used to steal your enemy's aether. The first hit wounds them, second pulls the aether out of them, and the third channels the aether you pulled into your cartridges.
@@ProtoHelio1 the broomstick is a nickname for the mauser c96 from WWII (which also shares the same model with the cryptlurker pistol), they're basically handing you the equivalent of that when you get there
@@assassinshock Oh, I wasn't actually trying to correct anyone, I was just trying to make a funny, my apologies ^^', although knowing that there's a pistol given to you that resembles the C96 (a personal favorite design of mine, along with the Luger) does help me appreciate the comment more and makes me want to get Machinist even sooner! Grinding it to StB levels for quests will be a pain but hey that's what roulettes are for, eh?
no worries not everyone knows everything. Personally I'd be looking forward to SE adding in a single barrel shotgun model like a trenchgun for the mainhand, that way I can shotgun while I use my upgraded aoe shotgun skill to shotgun with my shotgun even harder
You know it took me this long to realize that autocorrect snuck one on me. Fortunately Adan and a bunch of other people understood what I actually meant, and I got fun facts about a type of gun I’ve never heard about as an additional bonus. All of you guys are really cool people. ☺️
I love the machinist it's so funny just having a gun and a robot friend and doing stupid backflips and wearing the stupid glams that are meant for bards
this guy remembers we helped bail his little brother out of trouble and just went "i hear you're on the run from the law! would you like some overwhelming violence about it? :)"
"You look like a fine upstanding pirate, here have this gun and blueprints to make a flamethrower!" -Some dude meeting my lost Roe when she first arrives in Ishgard.
I literally only stumbled across this place because you have to talk to Cid to get the manacutter, then saw a blue quest and picked it up. Now I'm considering getting a fantasia, swapping to a lala, putting on goblin glam and renaming myself to Bigsmacks Longshoot
I started the game needing a gun. I kicked that door in while open handed after FINALLY getting in through that DUMB gate. "Where's my free gun?". Worst wait period a lala ever had to experience.
Funny enough, That the quest in a nutshell. Show everyone guns are "Good enough" than spears, swords, and magic. NOW if we are talking about when MCH came out gameplay wise and not Lore wise, It was trash'ist mostly because if you had crappy internet you do less DPS and the whole thing with making your gun have a GAUSS BARREL on it to do other skill and making your gun look really ugly and stop your auto attacks, The Reload mechanic it wasn't bad just the skill was kind of meh. The only thing I missed from old MCH was the turrets. But MCH played like a 50% Bard just without music.
What I miss was queueing into an instance and immediately loading the gun and snapping the Gauss Barrel on. Really made it feel like I was prepping for battle.
Odin says, in the Hávámal, Friends should provide their friends with weapons and clothing; this kind of generosity shows. Generous mutual giving is the key to lifelong friendship. Given that, Cid and company are great buds. Not to mention all the other people who give out armor and job weapons.
My friends told me that there was a job in heavensward that gives you a gun so i kinda hauled ass to them, picked it up, fell in love and played the job to 90
This isn't even far off from the first cutscene after you find the Marksmanship instructor. Steph hands you a gun and you're just standing there holding it like you have no clue what this alien device could be
In this country we have the Purists aka Dragoons and their sympathizers, Spearmasters that do lots of cool jump tricks; and the Rebels, the ones this country's society overlooks and tries to ignore: the gun freaks
YOU, the legendary warrior of light, slay primals with sword and shield, or a lance, or your bare hands, and then this guy is like "this thing shoots small pieces of metal really fast, for you. wanna try?" and you decide that the only way to distinguish yourself on the battlefield anymore, is 'dem flips.
