Thank you for uploading this! As a 35-year-old Millennial, this brings back so many childhood memories. My dad recorded this on a VHS tape, which we eventually wore out as we watched over and over again. I loved this so much (and still do). David Copperfield will always be a legend. Also, I watched this way before I ever saw any of the Alien movies, so I was confused when I heard the same music there, lol. I always wondered if David was actually a fan of those movies.
Some of the music (the main theme heard in the opening sequence and repeated later on during the Bermuda Triangle sequence) comes from the film 'Exporers', which shares the same composer as the 'Alien' soundtrack- Jerry Goldsmith. And yet his name isn't anywhere to be found in the credits??? 🤨🤔
In the 1950s America sent Five planes on a test flight all the five planes disappeared after losing contact with the tower and many ships were missing with no trace of oil wood on the surface from one ship one old lady was rescued she said she heard soft music at that time many years later a man made a research going under water upto the safe zone and found a full fledged city under water with cars sub station cables and he.concluded that there was a modern world at one time and the burmada triangle was centre of gravity and magnetic field
When I was 5 yrs old, my mother recorded this whole show on VHS for me… After fully rewinding the tape… I always remembered to then fast forward for 10 mins… cause I never wanted to see that chainsaw trick ever again.
"People ask me if [the Bermuda Triangle finale] was a camera trick. And I say 'No, that was a bad career move.'" Maybe, maybe not, but I thought it was entertaining as hell when I saw it as a kid. Still do.
David was a master illusionist and performer before David Blaine , Siegfried and Roy ... He had that living magic, and essence of charisma....does he still perform?
This is 2022. There are millions who believe the Earth is flat and that whenever a celebrity dies it's because they were sacrificed to the Devil. Why wouldn't they think this is real? Lol
There used to be a time when I saw this program more than 30 years ago, I was a school student then; I actually believed it all. Now, can easily identify the flaws in this act. Nevertheless, He is a living legend and my favourite magician.
at 3:16 *starts to shake and quake with fear and then gulped* wow just wow who knew this giant saw blade can be so very very VERY and ALSO really really REALLY sharp O_O :O
I watched this one as a kid and obviously didn't understand the last part, I watch it now... I still don't get the point of it, when I was a kid I thought he actually entered the Bermuda Triangle and then came out but now I just don't understand what was it.
Lol, it's safe to say that David's no Satanist. I had the pleasure of seeing two mistakes made by his assistants at live shows. He seemed furious when one assistant exposed a teleportation illusion.
@@anonimothy5979 Criss angel wrote books on making blood pacts with spirits to help him with his magic. I'm pretty familiar with the subject now, been researching
If not for the Death Saw, this has got to be the worst special David's done...don't even mention the Bermuda "illusion". Too many camera cuts; I think they were trying to replicate the success of Alcatraz and action movies of the time. Unfortunately, that takes away the true element of magic and just becomes one large, expensive home movie. Is there a reason why "Poultry in Motion" isn't on this? Compliance of the RSPCA or cut for time?
I dont really get your point. Alcatraz also had tons of cuts - so whats your point ? Also Copperfield foremost is an entertainer, not a real magician, you know that ? So... he tried different things... And this, - along with Alcatraz, the chinese wall, etc turned out one-way-streets - meaning: it didnt lead anywhere, in terms of magic-evolution (that was the first reason, why he left the ''movie-like'' magic-tricks). And sure, it wasnt enough to say the viewers: there isnt any camera-trick behind it - because the viewers hardly can prove that. For me personally these tricks were nevertheless impressive in their own way. Impressive in terms of entertaining. If i watch a magician i usually DONT want to understand the tricks, - even if i sure, make my thoughts about it ''how it was done''. Magic evolved... and Copperfield was in the tradition of the old magicians, who thought in dimensions like ''bigger, larger, more overhelming'' , started espescially from Houdini (which was a big raw model for Copperfield) So there was a consequence in it: to evolve it from ''dissapearing of a airplane'' ... to ''dissappearing the liberty statue'' and so on... until it went into ''movie-like''-tricks... You know, also Houdini wasnt pleased with just ''card tricks'' .. Later on the magic evolved into much more ''humble'' directions (for example Chris Angel), where it becomes much more of a ''street-magic'' again - with common people.. common places, .. and much more of a ''reality-show'' Because magic is an art , it evolves... The kind of presentions, or the kind of tricks, doesnt satisfy new audiences. So in a specific way, its totally ok, that you dont like this - as same as a young person wouldnt like a ''chainsawed woman in the box'' ... or ''the rabbit which comes out of an ''empty hat'' . But the magic Copperfield showed in this show, fitted perfectly in the demanded magic of the 80s - and didnt fit anymore in the 90s (so Copperfield left those kind of ''magic'' ) So you have to judge something every time in context of the times in which it was - in this case the 80s.
I don't think so. The Death Saw is my favourite Illusion of all time. I love the music and the performance. Later is a Illusion named "Pultry In Motion", but is not in that video. I don't know why it's not there.
Copperfield, a guy with incredibly huge networth, wouldn't be foolish to just steal anybody's music. He buys the necessary rights to all the music he uses and even had one song tweaked to better suit his performance by the original composer himself. A smart move as he knows he can lose big if the legality of such use becomes an issue later on.. Respect!!! ☺
