Hopefully when Netflix adapts this, they'll give a reason why Gabriel didn't just walk in and read the book like Cordelia did, and instead orchestrated all of this.

It feels like Cordelia was the master mind of everything. She was there when rosetta died, she went to the past and met conrad Albany. At the end she saves everyone and is now in charge.
I did like it but to be honest the magic circle are hypocrites. The reason I say this is that the dad was okay with everyone staying dead but it was okay for Cordelia to revive them. Think about it this way Gabriel was a loving father that wanted his daughter back. Their father only do things that benefits him. For decades he didn’t try to correct the wrongs that happened to Cordelia mother or help his kids. He was happy getting naughty with other women. But he acts like a good person. Something tells me that Gabriel daughter will be used in another story to address this.

I think that was addressed, albeit very lightly, when it was revealed that Gabriel was the one doing all the killing - when it was mentioned that he was powerful enough to kill the senior members. This gave me the impression this was how he overcame them so easily. It would’ve been nice if it was made more clear though.
@@eddynunezsanchez8222 yeah. at the end it was explained a bit. but like, the librarian getting drowned in a car seemed week. unless danny's editing of the dialog missed a spell that prevented her from teleporting away or made the car indestructible, it just seemed like she should have been able to escape from such a thing. and i did like the comic. just some of it came off as rather plot convenient lol.
I never read this book but because I have read so many of Milar’s books, I knew Gabriel was the Venetian from the moment you introduced him and showered his daughter dying. As much as I love his writing, he is extremely predictable albeit still enjoyable to read. The Uncle Edgar thing was a nice touch though. I didn’t think what happened to Gabriel’s wife was so guilty that she needed to be punished for the crime of allowing her grief to allow her to stay silent with the knowledge of Gabriel’s murders. I mean do they honestly think that the child wont grow up jaded with the knowledge the family locked her mom away for trying to bring her back. But that is Milar for you.
25:10 these wizards protect the world? are we sure they were wizards? what was their power? to die like fish in a barrel? cause they are being taken out so easily it's pathetic. not saying i'm not liking the comic so far, but damn lol. sure the first two were either asleep or had some op soul camera used on them, but the librarian saw what was coming and did ...nothing?
Not only that but they had a magic castle that no one can enter and they never pulled ranks never moved there family's there and prepared a counter attack it's just stupid
Wow I just finished it!! This comic was much better than I expected. Thank you for this!!!! I hope netflix does a good job with this. Obviously they make some changes to it, I don't want them to ruin it. I hope this one doesn't have the bad luck of jupiter's legacy.
The resolution was kind of a let down. Cordelia being able to use her "Trump" card to win without any repercussions makes no sense. It makes u wonder why Gabriel wasn't allowed to use it as well to avoid this war in the first place
@@icantaffordlife I know but it's strange that the story rewarded her by letting her bring everyone back to life while punishing Gabriel for trying to do the same thing but thru more violent means. It almost seems like all Gabriel had to do was sneak behind his father's back and read the book to bring his daughter to life and all would have been fine as well

You'd think the book would be well hidden, or that using it to bring back the dead is like opening pandoras box But nope, the moral of the story is when u told something is forbidden, all u have to do is sneak behind the owners back to read it and everything will be fine
Do the Books of Magic next. Has a lot of ties that go into the DC universe but is strictly magical and has a long well written story. Also im pretty sure the chick that wrote the harry potter story got most of it from the Books of magic graphic novel.

Great video! I got the feeling Gabriel may have been the Venetian about half way through your retelling, although the other twists were surprising. I’m still unclear on who the sacrifices were that made it possible for Cordelia to bring back the rest of the Order were. Was it the other wizards they were fighting? Either way, Cordelia was bad ass!!! Before she was even born apparently! Lol
Yes the sacrifices were the wizards she killed on Albany's side. It's a bit inconsistent IMO because it's established that you have to kill first before resurrecting someone so I think that last bit was a bit rushed and done so because of page restrictions

Just finished this comic and it had great twists and turns just wish there were more fights, the senior members went out so fast.. the plot killed them off when the writer should’ve explained more about his characters

Oh there were hints to who could be the killer responsible for the wizard murders. Someone who would do anything to bring that person back from the dead. Pretty good twist though
I like Mark Millard stuff but it’s kinda been a lot, this, super crooks,kingsman ,superior. I kinda want you to Check out some stuff that’s not by millar .I recommend Saga by Brian K Vaughn. It’s an amazing series and just announced its returning with issue 55 after years of hiatus even showed the issue cover. East of West by Jonathan Hickman is amazing too
I hear you. I’m going to be moving on soon in a few weeks. Millar can be a lot. I just like how they are all mostly one and done, so if people don’t like a story, there is a completely new story the next week. I might be doing Saga in 2022. That’s one that might be coming soon.
I'm confused...I thought Gabriel's father, suggested bringing back his lost child, during thier cab ride together. Then later on Gabriel says his father "always played it too straight, wouldn't even help me bring her back". What gives? Am I missing something?

Well God DAMN that was a ride! Stories like this along with the boys, invincible, sandman and so on goes to show that there's TONS of awesome stories out to be read n experienced. I've been undermining western comics cuz I've been jaded by the typical superhero trope, continuous revamping of their stories n characters along with the political agendas of the writers n publishers that push stories for their own blatant agenda without telling good stories. However, with comics like these, I'm starting to appreciate these hidden gems more. This goes to show that Magic, Superheroes can always be a fun n new genre to read so long the story is genuine n not afraid to be it's own thing n add a unique perspective.
Excited you are covering this, it’s one of the only Millarworld books I haven’t tried out. I can definitely see that twist pissing people off, lol. I mentioned in my Final Thoughts section I didn’t mind it, but I get if people think of it as a cop out ending.

i’m quite dissapointing jupiter legacy tv series and jupiter legacy 2 sequel both dissapointing i think mark millar losing his mojo like what happened? jupiter legacy show is not as good as the boys tv series
A lot of action and violent like Jupiter Legacy. Milar style. Twist with the son was unexpected. A lot a big deaths. Book had a big cop out by bringing all the dead people back. 👎👎All that for nothing. Killed the book for me
Danny, I dont see how u can give this an 8/10 when u gave Saga a 9.5/10 and then a 9/10. Saga is a fake easy fast romance saga that is very boring and overrated. Thus Magic £ Order however is a true 10/10. Please dont rate Saga base on the hype.
I could see giving this an 8.5. Sometimes it’s hard with the scoring. And in retrospect I wish I could bump something a half point or so one way or another. I like both Saga and Magic Order a lot. I do like Saga a little more though. I dig some of the romance soap opera stuff, and I like the randomness of it, and all the crazy space stuff. Everyone’s opinions vary a bit, but I totally get why some may not love Saga as much. I read a lot of the comments on my videos, and every single thing I cover has a camp that says the book sucks and another that loves it. So it’s hard to please everyone.
I try to keep it at a low-ish volume to not be too distracting. But sometimes the background music does elevate the story to a whole different level so I disagree on it taking away from the story.
