The Mahoning has been opened in 1949 and still uses the same equipment 70 years later. They have turned the drive-in into a festival-like atmosphere with themed movie events, overnight camping and a killer concession stand.

It’s 5:30 am and as usual since the pandemic I can’t sleep - happily though I just watched this (excerpt from the documentary I’m guessing?) on TV - I have to say it cheered me up, film is one of my passions & now visiting this drive-in PA is on my bucket list :) Clearly safer times will be upon us at some point; when that happens I look forward to sitting beneath a starry sky @ the Mahoning w kindred spirits. -Thank you for the introduction!

It was stated that it was the original projector that was installed in 1949. I'm sure by 1953 the owner had to change the lens to an anamorphic one to premiere the robe.
