Saw this film last night. I can say with certainty, it is truly one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. The performances, the storytelling, and the overall message ripped my heart out of my chest. My goodness. Just powerful.
This was simply not a MOVIE...it was TRULY A LIFE CHANGING EVENT FOR ME. The only word I can use use to describe is EXTRAORDINARY, and I SHOCKED and ASHAMED it received no Oscar nominations. Ava keep up the great work and trust me they will studying this film in film schools for AGES!!!
This film is incredible! I’m struggling to find the words to describe how deeply I’ve been impacted by this film on so many levels. The brilliant cast, exceptional director, profound storylines…I cried so much during the first time I saw the movie, I had to go back and watch it a second time. I still cried during the second viewing, but was able to absorb the gift that this movie is the second time, more. I’m encouraging everyone I know to see it and am investing in Seat16. Bravo! Well done! ❤❤️❤️🙏🏾
I'm so happy that this is being shown in more theaters and I'm glad I got the chance to see this last night. Ava never disappoints! Aunjanue's performance was so powerful and passionate. And she's just beautiful! 😍 Loved it.
As others onthis thread have said, MAsterpiece. Yes is that right! I hope schools incorporate this film into thier curriculum. So much to think about, reflect on, talk about, and to learn.
Streamed last night in Hulu. Oh, I’m blown away. What a moving necessary piece of art to make. For now and forever. How can we be living in a time now where this is STILL an issue. Thank you Ava DuVernay for bringing this important work to the masses.
A formidable work that has had me talking about and recommending since. My local bookseller tells me the paperback is flying off the shelves too. I think the director is right, time, word of mouth and energy are the key to this film's success.
