Nice to see George Kennedy and Sally Kellerman happily interacting. He gave an interview afterwards that wasn't so complimentary to Ms. Kellerman.

You know, you can work with someone and have a wonderful time with them and then they say or do something that rubs you the wrong way and that can cloud the entire time you had with them that was enjoyable. LH was a long shoot.

GREAT to see this promo film. I'm probably one of the few people in the world who enjoys the film. However, two things in the movie rub me the wrong way: "Question Me An Answer"'s lyrics are inane, and I'm not particularly crazy about Bobby Van. The story itself does have some problems, which are never overcome. I'm not saying that the 1937 film is flawless, but in THAT one, we can imagine that the arrival in Shangri-La is the result of Ronald Colman's dream (due to the recovered sequence placed back in the film). The 1973 version shows no doubt that they arrived. By the way, where was the destination of the pilot who hijacked the plane, and then crashed on the mountainside? And furthermore, if Shangri-La was protected on all four sides, how would the inhabitants have seen the crash, and how would they have known of their outside occupations, if Shangri-La was, indeed, shielded from the outside world?

The Question Me an Answer song is meant to be tongue in cheek. I like the sequence. There is a "recovered sequence" in the remake when you see Conway waking up in a VA hospital and the doctor tells them the peace mission was a failure. The pilot could've been paid off thinking there was a landing area of some kind that was now buried in snow. LH is a fantasy. It raises more questions than it answers. Some people have wrongly suggested Shangri-La was a cult, but how could it be? Nobody was held there against their will. Inhabitants were free to come and go as they like and as the High Lama said, "our order knows no rigid bonds". They didn't own or have a need for weapons. People governed themselves in moderation.

@@Classicsatdusk Thank you. The film is great in so many other ways. I'm just being nitpicky.
