liked the guy a lot....no pretension...easy going...not full of himself...I have been in film production for years and I am making my way into real estate and watching/listening to Chris made me smile. I understand his personality... the power of positive thought....could have listened to more.
So working with a famous photographer and living in Malibu are major advantages. The rest is what makes him a normal agent, he actually works. You aren’t going to be born in his situation or have the connections but you can work and it’s always been a numbers game. I used to work with Josh Altman, he was very friendly and sociable. That is the best approach no matter how much money you have.
Chris has nailed it. Sounds simple to say "integrity," or "ethics" or "hard work." But, it is sad, as an agent myself, how much of a stretch that is for so many. If I were not an agent, I would love to have Chris represent me.
What a moving and inspirational story. Sounds like Mr. Cortazzo has read the 4 agreements by Miguel Ruiz: Be impeccable with your word, don't take anything personally, don't ever make assumptions, and do your best. Also he brought up a huge point that regardless of his connections he still needed to learn the business of real estate and there is a ton of hard work involved. It's not like one door opens and you're "in", you gotta keep learning how to find new doors.
True story... I've sold a $135k in Compton. I've sold a $3.1 million in Dana Point. I'm black. I was raised on Air Forces bases. I mention it to show that... it's true, a person can sell anywhere.
What a story!! Thank you for being open and your first statement for being remembered as a "Nice Guy" tell a lot about yourself instead of being #1 Real Estate Agent in the world. Also like Chris Cortazzo secret of success "Hard work and Integrity".
Mr chris you are one of the best in the world.I think that you are the { Epitomy } of the realestate industry.I will be contacting you very soon so we can do business.Im in need of a few high end luxury estates.Your very humble and kind, and thats why i tjhink that God has blessed you so much.Talk to you soon.
It's really a great and helpful piece of info. I am glad that you shared this helpful info with us. Please keep us informed like this. Thanks for sharing.
That is so true. He was raised amongst the wealthy so interm, he knows exactly what they seek as far as luxury. The thing that's left up to the buyer is location. By the way queenzlink247, Compton has some very beautiful well built homes. The violence just needs to drop.
Right place, right time is just the answer of someone who is after the money. There is a more profound connection of what these successful people do for living and the average joe who is desperate to make the next deal. If you are not able to at least appreciate those who succeed, you will never have a chance. Begin with that.
why is everyone so impressed with this guy? There are a lot of people out there that probably work harder everyday and are better in every way. The reason he's making so much more money than everyone else is because of the high end market he is in and the connections that came along with his previous job. Almost all of his success has branched from him simply being born into an affluent family. A lot of people don't even come close to having the advantages that have so easily fell upon this guy so don't go putting this guy up on a giant pedestol as someone you strive to be like, look up to someone who came from nothing and worked their ass off everyday to be successful.
Wow, your so stupid. He started in 1994 and it took him 6 years until he was #1 agent in 2000, only in Malibu. 6 YEARS!! the video was shot in 2011. 17 years into his career! Most people quit after 1 year of anything.
Evan Ring lol, being in an affluent family and connections doesn't instantly get him to be the no.1 real estate agent. He had good cards, but he also worked his hats off. Respect for him.
Well to be honest, 90% of rich people comes from rich families. Wealth grows wealth. If you are poor, you either have to be very talented or hardworking to break that barrier.
Good for him. Real estate business growth and the success is based on building a great referral program. He was able to do that because of knowing everyone in his area. I'm sure he's not the only agent in the area that's doing very well considering the market he's in.
Not really. She asked him whether or not his success is mostly because hes from Malibu. It would be different if someone that grew up in Compton was selling million dollar homes in that area. This guy was raised amongst these million dollar homes, and most importantly, amongst these million dollar people.
Trust for me is the key in any relationship. When you sell real estate you are dealing with people's money and their home. Being honest, having integrity and showing professionalism will get you the reputation in your community. Having an excellent communication skills, being dedicated and organized will get the job done. Good listener and a strong negotiator accomplishes the clients goals. Listening to what Mr. Cortazzo had to say it seems that he has it all. Real estate is interesting, challenging and rewording in many different ways. I love selling real estate.
My professor said, "Wherever you've been in the world, what's important is the kind of person you are." She meant our integrity matters. It's always stuck with me. But my God taught me "it's good to be a nice person/a person of integrity. It's better if we become the person He's created us to be. But what's most important and best is for us to be a part of God's family." He gave it for free and all we have to do is to repent our sins, trust Jesus and accept Him as our personal Lord, and Savior. He is the eternal salvation.
Good video. Integrity, Hard Work and Especially KNOW YOUR MARKET! That's what allowed people to gravitate toward him...he is, on top of straight forward, Very Informed.
so basically his daddy left him a bunch of money and his photography friend from the country club let him meet all kinds of sellebrities with bottomless bank accounts no wonder he sold billion$ in realty. You're as valuable as the people you know.
The photographer should've gotten some percent for introducing these celebrities to Chris, Jk. Great job Chris, it's all about dedication and of course knowing the right people. :)
I think it means hurry up and get started because normally it would take two lifetimes to achieve this level of success...unless Herb Ritts is your boss and Richard Gere buys a house from you because you validated that it had not burned to the ground.
They begin the interview with him saying he's a friend of one of the world's most famous and highly sought after photographers! Duh! Richard Geer was his first client!! Why was this even made??
Tell me what is your understanding towards the "Exposure to the rich?" sentences? It could be like his father or mother or be like his friend or his childhood or someone he knew from work and that someone with whom he work knew someone that rich? In real estate we need someone we knew, top or bottom doesnt count, but we need as much as friends here. Learn the process "Sphere of Influence", then you will understand his power of thought. Negative can only bring you down, there is no stairs for -v people, the only way to walkup the ladder by putting all your energy, all your positive and all of you to get there and dont forget to that someone has eventually help us to reach our goal. I think you need someone from inside hahaha... Keep believing yourself, its hard but trust me its worth to try. Because that is the "POWER OF THOUGHT"...
Okay... Maybe this guy doesn't really have a clue what it's like to start at zero as a RE agent, but so what? It's a little irritating, but that's his reality, and why should I resent someone that happens to be fortunate? How often do you stop and think about how lucky you are to be born in a western society? Our lives are all relative to the reality we were raised in. No need to bash on people that happen to be more fortunate. There are far more people LESS fortunate than you, and a lot of them probably resent you. No matter who you are, there will ALWAYS be people more fortunate. Concentrate on yourself and you may find yourself there some day.
You said it, plus to be a Billionaire salesman and the homes are over millions in value, do the math, not really as many homes were sold to get to a billion!
+Savo E. (ExotIc) I make money from real estate by flipping it, selling it on a much higher price and renting it out. Also some of my property is on AirBnb www.airbnb.com/c/sandyp70?s=8 where I can rent it out on daily basis and on a much higher price. It is like a mini hotel for tourist and airbnb helped me
I did start to write a long reply inviting him here to see if he is anything like as good as me but now have just deleted all, Not worth the time . Then I was going to tell you are a ... BUT then I looked at your website after Googling your name and even though your website could be alot better you are SO LUCKY to have the dream homes in locations where people have money. What I have realsied from this is if I can sell over 30 apartments here work out the figures i could make there. I LOVE HERE
Impressive, but if he was already hobnobbing with celebrities and wealthy he is several steps ahead of anyone else... probably in a place where very very few could ever get to.
Ms. Christy Holmes of Century 21 Award in Rancho Santa Margarita sold me house in Mission Viejo with mold, water damage and slab leak, violations of the building code and fraudulent termite extermination completion report. She was dual agent despite my concerns about conflict of interest. The house was advertised as Pristine and meticulously maintained. Ms. Holmes was dual agent and she had contract with sellers. She did not enforce purchase agreement, seller was late with seller disclosures and termite inspection report. Ms. Holmes was convincing me that fumigation takes place after close of escrow. In violation of paragraph 14 of purchase agreement I never received accounting of the repairs done by seller and termite certificate of completion listed only $4,665 in section 1 repairs, when the section 1 damages listed in termite inspection report were $5,995. After the escrow closed I've learned that over 100 roof tiles were broken and never replaced and recently California Pest Control Inspector informed me that repairs listed on termite certificate of completion were never repaired. The termite certificate of completion issued by England Extermination was fraudulent.
You’re a real estate living in California where most of the homes you’re selling are 7+ figures. That selling billions in real estate is bs. Not that hard to reach that if you’re in California. But congrats to his success.
Venango County, Pennsylvania - Anyone who has done a search of real estate in the Rust Belt area of the United States has seen that the prices are amazing. For the price of a few months rent in one of the larger international cities, you can buy a house. In places like Western Pennsylvania, Northern Ohio, Michigan, Western New York housing prices are far below what you find in most other places around the world. However smart investors are realizing the potential here. First of all, you're buying property in the United States that is near many major metropolitan cities. The potential for investment is amazing. People no longer have to be in cities to work if they can do so online. Also, with such cheap prices people are seeing the potential for building retirement communities, small industries and other endeavors. Within a three hour drive from Toronto, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Washington D.C. you find home prices that are far below average, but within an easy commute for someone who needs to be near a major city. For example, if you do a search in places like Venango County Pennsylvania you can easily find houses for fifty thousand dollars and Victorian mansions for under two hundred thousand. Some houses go for as low as twenty thousand dollars and less, but require some work. Still the land underneath these very low houses is worth more to someone interested in investment opportunities. They are, after all, in the United States and near potential capitol from the larger surrounding cities. This is why the Rust Belt has turned into the Investment Belt, especially with younger investors and people from Asian markets looking for a place to put their newfound wealth. But, with prices like this, it will soon be "discovered" and the deals will soon be gone.
You are really that shameless arent you. You figure let me capitalize here by advertising my 'knowledge'...lol Did you not learn anything from the interview...billions doesnt come from low end markets. Its simple division. Further, pple that buy 50k-200k homes wont have a funding source in near future...rise in rates as dollars world euro currency takes dive. Pittsburgh...I owned homes and businesses there...you dont make money in pgh ...you bring money to pittsburgh.
I think you got issue with your attitude, i dont think because of the celebrities or whatever it is, do you know about real estate, do you recall any about SOI? what does it means to you? It means. Sphere Of Influence You need to know someone, not good at or best at but someone that other people talks about, you need that friend that can share your profile to others. Dont judge too often, as i heard about his story, he said he knew someond that has connection with the artist / models etc, he phtoshoot them. He is using his SOI, so there it is, the right place and the right time. Tell me what would you do of You were Him? The world is running circle, you will do the same thing, the only different is this guy didnt even know you 😁
sometimes it's all in Universal time ...little effort needed ..buyer is already there! Generally - listening to people's needs & following yr. gut feeling ...we're all connected somehow
