Desperation makes your mind work in strange ways. In 1983 I was 12 years old and I was in the nosebleed of a soccer stadium in Argentina, there was a riot and police gassed us. Trapped and not being able to breath I was actually considering to jump to the grassy area outside the stadium...thinking that maybe, just maybe, the grass below would break my fall.

North tower? It’s the south tower
@GarnetDally
@GarnetDally 2 месяца назад
@@ElmoreStreamsit was the north tower. The south tower came down and when it panned back to the north tower, he was no longer there. It’s suggested that either he was shocked and fell when the south tower came down, or the sheer force of the tower collapsing, meant that he lost his grip. The north tower shook when the south fell, but they also created a dust cloud that reached speeds of 125mph so it’s unlikely he’d have been able to hold on then.

I have watched and studied that video hundreds of times over the years. (I am a former journalist.) He was trying to enter the window below the floor he was trying to escape. He loses his grip while trying to maneuver his legs to break the window. There is a slight delay before he begins to fall. He is either trying to tighten his grip or he is trying one last time to break the glass with his fist. It's hard to say which scenario is correct. There's news footage on RU-vid of his fall but it is from a far distance. Despite the distance you can clearly see that slight delay before he falls. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XjuDkAbRNDg.html It was a man's last attempt at survival which was quickly followed by the realization that he was about to die. All in a matter of seconds. A moment most of us will never experience, immortalized on film forever.

People from inside the towers, were reporting via phone, that some of the floors were collapsing. If you were near a window, on a level where the floor, or a partial collapse of the above floor came down. The rush of air this would produce, would be enough to force someone unprepared to be blown out.

I remember as a little girl, neighborhood kids and i used to climb up this old dilapidated building near our house and it was about 6 stories tall, nothing too bad, but pretty scary to us kids whom were all under 10. It did not help that underneath was a lot of broken glass and rocks. One day I lost my grip near the top and that horrible few seconds that I realized I was going to fall felt like an eternity, it's been 32 years and I still recall that realization that I was about to fall, injure myself badly or possibly even die. I thankfully, miraculously walked away with only a few nasty cuts and aches but I never forgot that panicky sensation of knowing i was going to fall. My experience does NOT even come close to this poor man's experience, I don't even think id want to know how scared he must have felt in those moments. 9/11 stories like his and the one other gentlemen who attempted to use a tablecloth as a makeshift parachute as he fell break my heart 😢 it had to have been hell inside those towers for these poor people to jump/climb down ..May they R.I.P

I work really high in the air all day at work and sometimes I'll come home and sleep and dream that I am still at work, way up in the air and I'm about to slip and fall. In the dream, I'm usually in a very dangerous slope that I would never be on and It is terrifying, because you just keep slipping and almost falling. Then, I lose my grip and fall and wake up.

That one guy scaled down from 92 to 91. He didn't realize the window next to him was opened. He unfortunately kicked the window trying to break it and lost his grip and fell 91 floors. The 91st floor was the last floor in the North Tower to have at least one stairwel, accessible. He would have survived had he OF known. Pretty sad to think about.

The man that tried to use the rope was somewhere on around the 72-75 floor of the south tower. On the side that was facing the North Tower and plaza. Which means at the time of the impact he was almost certainly watching people fall from the North Tower rather than trying to leave. Imagine being on the 72-75 floor watching the horror in the faces of those in the north tower that were forced to jump. Being thankful it wasn’t your building. Then no more than 10 minutes later you are hanging from a rope and losing your grip.

What was needed to escape was actually a combination of what the guy did that shimmied down 10-12 floors and what the guy with the rope did. Had the guy with the rope connected something with metal to the end of the rope he could’ve swung it downward to bust out the window of the floor below him. Then he could’ve shimmied down with the rope and climbed into the window directly below that he busted out. He could’ve kept doing this process until reaching a floor that could reach the stairs.

That video was shown on a documentary on the National Geographic a few years after the attacks, including a narration from the guy who was filming. And seeing that at 9 years old and watching that scene in the documentary was the first time that it finally hit me how horribly people had tragically died TRYING to survive. Because before that, I'd only really seen pictures and video of just towers burning. As a kid you don't really recognize the loss of life. But that footage made it clear as day in my young mind. And it's horrified me ever since.

I was 21 or 22 when it happened, and I remember not really going nuts until I heard a witness say to a reporter, "They're jumping from the upper floors." That was when I remember catapulting from shock to _intensely_ wanting revenge. I've never felt like that before or since. Thankfully. Of course, as we all know, it wasn't like Pearl Harbor. There was no single nation state to direct that rage. The aftermath panned out way more ambiguous and complicated than that. Unfortunately.

The "crazy air pressure" was likely caused by a large section of flooring failing and suddenly dropping, displacing that volume of air which blasted out windows. As the fires burned and the heat fully saturated the steel framing, the damaged and weakened floor sections and even partition walls would periodically drop, rustling blinds, blowing debris from windows etc. Many people were forced to jump in large groups when the floors seperating them from the intense heat failed, suddenly blasting them with and exposing them to the heat and flames and removing all hope of survival. The decision was taken from them as the crowded windows, the only tiny space capable of sustaining life was suddenly taken from them by the sudden blast of 1400°F air. RIP all who perished on 9/11 and God bless their loved ones.

@mcnultyssobercompanion6372
@mcnultyssobercompanion6372 4 месяца назад
I've seen both of the pieces of footage referenced in this video (though not in a while, so my recollections may be imperfect.) First, I personally think _that was_ a body being projected out the window of the tower. What I saw was a middle-aged man in work attire among thick smoke, dust, and debris. It makes sense for several reasons. The pressure in those offices would have been enormous. The furniture, the paperwork, the victims and their clothing, the flooring, everything that's burning is filling that contained space with smoke and gases, which are essentially "pushing" outwards. I'm actually surprised there isn't more footage like this. I think it makes sense that a victim would be rested against that window- or very close nearby- at the moment it blows. That victim (surely dead, you only have a lung full or two of toxic smoke until it's lights out, soon after which you're gone) would have likely been trying to break that window- until being inevitably overcome. He just wasn't able to get it done in time. And so when the overpressure occurs, the body is going to be part of the eruption. Unfortunately. This is what I think _likely_ happened. To be fair, it all comes down to whether an individual believes they see a body in the footage. I remember being sure of it. But again, I have not seen it in several years. As for the person who fell while trying to descend down: I remember being disgusted by the on sight "commentary". I don't know if it was the person filming, or some idiot alongside, but hearing it may cause you to lose faith in humanity. It's glibly indifferent and patronizing, I would say even cruel. Whoever that dude is, he sucks. The background music, the Billy Joel song, _is very_ surreal. To be clear, it's not a song that was added as an edit in post, you're hearing "Always a Woman" as it was being played by the speakers outside the towers. The effect is eerie and quite disturbing, this catchy, pleasant tune underscoring a man about to fall 90 floors. I _don't recall_ him having any kind of rope device, but I may have been overloaded by what I was seeing ("commentary bro" particularly triggered me), it's possible I simply missed it. To me it looked like he was simply trying to _very carefully_ scoot down a sloping portion of the tower, and it appears to work for a bit, until suddenly he starts to slide down uncontrollably fast, and he sort of separates from the tower beneath him, and passes out of frame. He helicopters downward several meters, and then he's gone. You do not see his impact. It's challenging footage, for more than one reason, but I think it's important that it exists. It's what happened, warts and all, and I think that record matters for the sake of future generations. It's history.

I wish I saved the link for the video. But there’s a video of someone zoomed very close to the top of the tower. There are at least half a dozen people visible sticking from the windows for air. One of them is holding a light of some sort, it may be a flashlight but some speculate it could’ve been a video camera judging by the way he was holding it. I know the exact video you're talking about. I saw the footage used in a 9/11 documentary I used to watch when I was like 10 and it always stuck out to me. I got to see it again in the full video last year and in higher quality than I was used to. It was longer showing the exact moments when he attempted to climb down after waving what looked to be a suit jacket and then it even showed his fall until a building blocked the rest of his descent. The documentary freezed the clip just after he had lost his grip. It's a chilling capture.

@@adawg03 the civilians on the street were celebrating, But the Arab officials quickly got control of the media and told them not to film the celebrations and not to show the celebrations already captured on video. They knew we were going to make somebody pay dearly.

J'aime beaucoup ton travail autour du WTC et du 911 ! C'est a la fois intéressant pour la compréhension de ce drame mais aussi pour le devoir de mémoire. Very good job !!

To elaborate on the so called "person" getting blown out if you watch the footage, you can see that whatever it was actually comes from the mechanical/HVAC floor below the uppermost sky lobby. Being that it was an open air walkway for ventilation, it's more than likely just some light debris being blown out of the ventilation system, possibly due to a part of a floor collapsing.
