Watching it live on TV, I never imagined that the towers would collapse. When they did, it was absolutely most surreal thing I've ever experienced in my life.

Plane was Nowhere near Strong enough For that and it Made out of aluminum like he Said the Building Was Way bigger than the plane. If it was stronger tho might’ve had that effect
It's really scary thinking about how many would've died had the original bombing attack in 1993 fully succeeded, as bad as 9/11 truly was the original attack would've been far worse had it went exactly how the attackers planned it.
Something like that technically could still happen. Just need some dedicated Terrorists, domestic or not with knowledge and a highly sophisticated plan and strategy, like finding weaknesses in security and taking advantage of that. Things would have been far worse if the planes impacted closer to the base of the towers. They would trap far more people and the buildings would have collapsed much sooner.
Not just that, it’s scary to think how bad 9/11 could’ve been had the terrorist realized the towers could collapse. They would’ve hit the towers around the 40th floor. There was a clear path over the Marriott where they could’ve even hit the 30th floor

In 1992, I was in 8th grade. We went to NYC for our 8th grade trip. We were scheduled to go to the WTC. The nun that I had canceled that part of the trip because she was worried about terrorism. She said in 10 years, they would be attacked. Seven months later, they were attacked. Nine years later, they would fall. I don’t know how she knew. I swear she had a vision. She’s still alive, too.

Part of the core of the buildings actually stayed up for as long as 15 seconds, iirc the tallest core spire was like 50 stories up. From far away I get it looked like that, but from close up it definitely doesn't. There's also that footage of an extreme closeup on the impact zone of WTC 2 at the moment the columns give way. You literally see the supports begin to buckle and then give in, if you haven't seen it yet you should it's WILD.

The towers weren’t as solidly built as the terrorists thought they were. The damage was catastrophic, the terrorists were surprised the towers fell the way they did.
They hit up high on the towers because they didn't want firefighters to put out the fires too quickly. If they had realized what would happen, they might have hit them lower, which would have greatly increased loss of life. It could have been way worse.

Oh yes the twin towers were expected to fall. Hitting higher up on the structures was calculated to delay the collapse, giving people time and avenues for escape. Had they impacted the buildings far lower down like they had to do at the pentagon, the force of the 500 mph aircraft with all that extra weight above the damaged sections would have brought the towers down very much more quickly. That is why, the south tower, though hit after the north tower, collapsed first. The jet aircraft de-facto guided missile struck much lower than on the north structure. All that excess weight above the destroyed sections caused it to break first. Seems to me in 1997 I read something about hitting higher up to show mercy and allow people to escape and survive. In August 2001, in Shepard park in Stuart, Florida, there was a crisp clear detailed description of all that would happen. It described the impacts of the aircraft, the horrific noise, the flames and great billowing clouds of smoke, people jumping to their deaths, government jets sent aloft to save the day, but too late. It clearly stated the attacks with airplanes would cause the utter destruction of their targets. The airplanes would bring the buildings down. It was crystal clear and audible at 100 feet. It was not said in a whisper. That was August 2001 and came with a severe warning the attacks would come in a few weeks.

I wonder if the towers would still have fallen if the planes were inbound to NYC, instead of outbound. Inbound planes would be holding far less jet fuel, and jet fuel was a big factor to how hot the steel got.
Conspiracy crowd aside, I think the answer would be, w/the North Tower at least, no. There was enough support below the impact floors to handle redistributing the load. The South Tower's lower impact point was more problematic. I also think many more would have survived w/far less smoke and flames.
Physics, science and good common sense should tell you, as it does me... a 40+ year commercial electrician. That they could've dropped an AIRPORT on each of those buildings without them falling at those similar speeds, into their own footprint and in very similar ways. EVEN THOUGH the 3 buildings were hit in different ways, from different directions with vast differences in many critical parameters... It's BS.

I remember not believing the towers completely fell until I saw it with my own eyes. I was at work, and we were listening to Dan Rather on the radio. I was convinced he was exaggerating, as he had done many times previously.
Actually, the towers were engineered to withstand a hit by a 707, which was the largest passenger jet when they were designed. A 767 is much larger and carries more fuel. Still, I don't think anyone anticipated their coming down.

They were not supposed to fall because when they were designed in the 60-ties, Al Qaeda didn't exist, and nobody thought that there will be people mad enough intentionally to crash airliners into the buildings. The designers knew it was possible the towers to be hit, but in some kind of accident: a plane in distress who does not have enough fuel to reach a nearby airport. So the designers thought about a slow speed crash with very little or no jet fuel. On 9/11 the towers were hit by bigger and heavier planes, loaded with a lot of fuel, and were hit at very high speed. The kinetic energy of the impacts were at least 10 to 11 times higher than the energy of the impact the designers envisioned. And anyway the towers survived the both impacts. But the long fires after that, they were too much for the already weakened structure of the buildings, and that's why they fell.
The attack was planned so well by American Dominancy (over Politics) and of course Bin Laden claimed responsibility but the simple logistics don't add up. A light aircraft could easily hit the target but a large commercial jet liner could never hit a target like the towers without assistance, It's so obvious that these planes hit their target pretty much 100% and had a lot of help in doing that.

When I was watching it live, I told everyone "those towers will pancake down and collapse" before they fell. It was obvious it was a possiblility before it happened.
I did too! I was watching the news with other people in my department and told everyone the towers will collapse. Five minutes later, the first tower fell.

I watched a video where someone is filming the north tower after the first impact. A woman in the room expresses her doubt that the building can sustain that damage and expresses concern that the tower would collapse. I don't know if she was an engineer or what, but she called it early on.
*Go back and watch the planes hit the towers and you'll see a bright flash of light right at the nose of each plane right before impact. I would also recommend seeing the banned movie by Rik Mayall (who suddenly died of a heart attack after its release) called One by One. I dont think engineers ever imagined a 676 300k-400k lb airliner going 560mph with well over half the weight in jet fuel smacking the towers. The towers absorbed all of that ridiculous amount of energy. You can't tell me that couldn't compromise the integrity of those buildings

Building #7 right by the towers magically collapsed no planes no fires nothing. Find the right footage slowed down the towers just collapsed at a free fall with numerous flashes of what looked like explosions. Plenty of emergency personnel gave first hand accounts of the explosions many were silenced. Washington DC even in 2001 was one of the most heavily surveilled places in the world. Where's the footage of the "plane" hitting? Think only one video taken from a gas station was released. Yeah can't really see anything. Flight 93 same story plenty of first responders said they had no clue what had happened looked like some just dumped a bunch of debris in a field.

My dad was in tower one when the bomb went off and he said the smoke just rushed up there and when the bomb went off it knocked him to his feet and he felt the building away. He was waiting for the elevator to head down to the basement. It was a crazy day and he didn’t get home until 3am filled with smoke residue all over him. My uncle was in the building as well.

There are some videos taken in DC at the time where you can hear the plane in the background before switching to the distant smoke, and there actually is another angle from another checkpoint where you can actually see the plane for TWO frames and not just one like conspiracists like to highlight
Outside of amateur analysis of video and some press conferences of "pieces" that were never independently verified to be anything, there was no evidence of nanothermite. Also, the "crime scene" was there for almost 8 months, including 5 months where a public viewing platform of the cleanup was open.

They did though. It was actually designed to withstand multiple plane impacts. An engineer I watched speaking on it compared it to taking a pencil and poking a screen door. The integrity of the screen was still there even after multiple holes. If that makes sense.

Insane difference. It is enough to weaken the steel to create the domino effect that caused the collapse.

I saw a a documentary discussing this and what Yousef said in the helicopter ride and I’ve been trying to find a source for this for ages. It seems like all the dialogue from that helicopter ride vanished.

I agree that the government was aware of the risks. The admin had received the security warnings and recommendations to prevent the expected airline hi-jackings. They did nothing which is bad enough. Was it incompetence or hope for an excuse to start a war? I was also in my 20s and had lived in the shadow of the WTC until March 2021. People I knew worked and died in WTC1. I'd been up there to just below the impact floors and through the lobby and underground complex countless times. People who talk CT and explosives were never there; now many pushing CT hadn't even been born yet.

If you compared physics explanations by reliable sources other than our government, you’d find it similar in visual except one thing every single one of you guys don’t see is that the towers collapse while the floors below the plane crashes were still in the collapse. That’s not controlled demolition technique. The more reasonable explanation is the upper affected floors started to collapse on top of the floor below it like a domino. With a design of center base steel and perimeter steel it can have a similar fall as a demolition but of course someone like you believe only demolition can cause towers to fall one type of way by that method only.

I would find it interesting to know approximately what the death toll would have been had both towers not collapsed and they stood standing and the rescue operations would have been able to continue. @@adamn7516 I live here in NYC (born and raised) and I can confirm those fires continued all the way into the month of November. There was thermite found, but the media never focused fully on it. It was mentioned maybe once or twice, and then disappeared.

I don’t know about anyone else but when I saw that second plane hit with that much force into the corner of the 2nd tower my first thought was that thing is coming down.
fire cannot melt steel. The biggest problem with the twin towers, however, was the open format. Much of the building's support was located on the exterior. The steel mesh allowed the building to flex in the wind and still support open floors. There were only eight main supporting columns on each side of the central axis, 32 in total. When the planes crashed into the buildings, they cut through the steel mesh. Thus, the integrity of both buildings was compromised. If there was an entire steel structure inside the building, it probably could have been repaired and still be in use today. Instead, when the steel mesh and possibly some of the 32 supporting columns were compromised, collapse became inevitable. When one floor fell onto another, it was too heavy to support and fell, like a stack of pancakes. It was a perfect accidental implosion, as the screen was pulled inwards as each floor collapsed. More than a million lives were likely saved by the way the collapse happened. Imagine if the walls had fallen outwards, falling on many buildings and the crowd of onlookers. In the end, we learned a lot about structural support and safety for an exposed city. One World Trade was built with a steel cage. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed knew the World Trade Center was open...🙄
3:40 bro watch any controlled demolition of similar buildings. the rest of the building is always brought down first and then the core is brought down, its done this way to provide stability to the collapse.
Also the physics explanation studies have all explained how the plane crashes caused a scenario similar to a demolition. So that point of yours has a fallacy of assuming only purposeful demolition can cause that single kind of fall. It’s really due to how the WTC were built with it’s perimeter and core beam build.
The towers were still gonna fall. The portions from the fires of the impacts and above would have fallen onto the soft steel. Jet fuel doesn't melt steel, but it does soften it. Enough to bend it. Those sections of the towers would have fallen. That's what you see when the south tower collapses.
The twin towers were touted as being able to survive a plane crash back when they originally opened. Kinda like the Titanic promo saying it was "unsinkable".. both didnt age very well.
I definitely think Mohammed Atta had a hunch they would collapse. He came from an architectural background and as someone with that kind of background involved in the planning and aware of the physical realities (the speed of the planes and force of the impacts, the effects of jet fuel. Etc) and somewhat knowledgeable on the specs of the towers, I think he uniquely had a hunch at least one would collapse. Though I don't know if he voiced this to any of his comrades. I know the "site recon" planning video of one of the Al Qaeda members who went to the WTC with a camcorder to gather intel (unsure if it was one if the eventual hijackers or just an operative for AQ) features a moment where after gathering intel, they walk a few blocks away and shoot an establishing shot of the towers and the cameraman slowly turns the camera on its side and makes "explosion" sounds to "simulate" the towers toppling over. So at the very least some of the AQ network associates in the US entertained the possibility though I'm certain the leadership in Afghanistan and the financiers in Saudi Arabia must've shit a brick when the South tower came down. I had to watch that video as part of certification training as a security guard. Basically "this is what a suspicious person looks like".
@@jacksoncole6672 Whatever it was hit a taxi and knocked over 5 street lights on I-395. Those street lights were about 10 feet apart. A 767 has a wingspan of about 14 feet. An ICBM (which I assume is what people "think" it was) is about 5-6 feet in diameter. There's no way that wasn't a plane.
Bin Laden and al-qeada actually did expect some damage to the trade center. But his expectations based on the stories of other operatives and Khalid Sheik Mohammed suggested that Bin Laden only expected the impact floors and the floors above to collapse. Like he said in the video, Bin Laden was actually shocked because he didn't expect the towers to collapse fully in on themselves. But he did expect some type of damage other than the plane damage.
If you add to a building (wtc) 10 times the forces (energy) that it was designed to withstand, then one can only wonder why it remained standing for so relatively long after all. Enerti (energy of movement) 4 is doubled with a doubled speed and the planes flew on 11/9-2001 with approx. 3 x the expected accident speed, i.e. 9 X the energy, plus the aircraft was heavier than the largest aircraft of the time (Boeing 720).

It was close to the towers and got hit with a lot of debris. It's not hard to find a map of the original complex. Building 7 included storage of fuel tanks and electric generators in case of emergency. They were stored on an upper floor: fuel + heavy weight. This is not that challenging to understand but the facts get obscured by CT pushers.

I was 15 when this happened and I stayed home from school and watched so much news coverage that day and heard what the authorities were talking about too. There was even a pursuit going toward the George Washington Bridge with the police. Turns out they were Israeli agents. I wanna know why they ran. Then, they were questioned by the FBI. Busy day.
Exactly the core was still standing and people font realize the amount of weight above the impact zone at least 50K Tons. Also the only teo structures designed to keep the up external columns 40% and the core 60% where destroyed. Many people think the floors could carry the weight, wrong they were designed for horizontal stabilization in term of the rigidity of the building. Add to that the planes impacted on thr freight elevators side which ran entire height of thr building. No bombs or thermite at the core, sorry.
I wonder if we could hear the story about one of the jumpers that survived falling from one of the towers. I remember reading the interview in which one of the firefighters told the story.
Flight 175, the second plane to hit the Twin Towers, was delayed 15 minutes before takeoff. Considering the fact that both planes hit the Twin Towers in about a 15 minute time span, the original plan might have been to have both the planes hit the Twin Towers at the same time. Imagine how scary that would have been?

The Pentagon is far more fascinating than the towers. The ability to hit the side of a 4 story building that sits in a hole is crazy. There is also no video of a plane hitting the pentagon. Just a choppy video of an explosion at one of the most secure buildings in the world. It got TWA 800’ed 😂

You know what "secure" buildings tend not to have? 24/7 HD video aimed right at it. Video, especially CCTV, can be hacked. Not really smart to have it in front of the most secure building in the world.
It's fortunate they stood as long as they did, which allowed most of the people inside to escape (although not above the impacts). There have been other tall (not as tall) buildings felled by fire alone, in Brazil and Iran since 9/11, but those accidents didn't have the shattering of the structure by the impacts. The real complicity is that the White House had been warned by 15 countries, the CIA, FBI and DIA had agents who tried to stop the attack but were blocked by their bosses.
You know it does explain why the news reporters, anchors and people in general that day didn't really feel strong amounts of fear when the towers were burning, everyone was focused on the evacuation and rescue efforts and probably thought the fires in the towers would burn themselves out but once the collapse started on the South Tower everyone was like "OH SHIT!" that's when all hell broke loose, like not just Bin Laden but no one else expected them to fall eventually.
People also thought it could've been an accident when only the North Tower was hit that some people inside the North Tower that were below the impact zone actually stayed put until rescue could come. Some of them actually started escaping only after the South Tower fell (since they wouldn't even know the South Tower also got hit until it fell) that they actually had to go through the burning hellish lobby instead of the unscathed lobby prior to the second tower falling. Hell, even FDNY used the North Tower Lobby as command center that's captured in the Jules Naudet documentary and the photo of the burning North Tower Lobby after the South Tower collapsed.
is it possible that they didn't plan on it falling that but our government (who had plenty of advance warning that an attack like this was immient but did nothing) decided to capitalize on the attack put certain things into place to make SURE that they would indeed fall.
I honestly can't believe 9/11 conspiracies are still a thing in 2024. Your government didn't blow up the buildings. They just aren't that organised and competent. Ignored the warnings? Well yes, that happened. But US intelligence agencies have always been arrogant, they didn't believe the UK's warning about Pearl Harbour either, even after the Japanese planes had taken off. Come to think of it, it seems the US doesn't take any plane threats seriously. 😆
The outer walls of the World Trade center were made from heavy square steel tubing welded together in lattice sections then lifted and set together. I saw a test video of a remote piloted 707 crash landed to view how they held up. In this test there was a wooden telephone pole which sliced through the wing. Those jet wings could NOT have sliced through as "videos" seemed to show. The nose would have crumbled and amassed a lot of metal before possibly punching through. The engines are a tough call because of their weight but they are smaller pieces all spinning. Then there is Building 7 (full of important financial documents) that wasn't struck but crumbled into its footprint.
It’s because the planes hit on the top of the towers that they fell like a demolition. If it was hit towards the bottom like how you cut down a Tree, it would’ve swayed and toppled other buildings.
Yeah, the reason for that is because both planes nearly missed the towers. People like to talk about how the second plane almost missed, but the first plane flew way too high that it had to do a nosedive to hit the first tower
What wasn't mentioned was the EPA's interference in the fireproofing. Up to the 44th floor, the towers had the proper fireproofing per design, but the squints at the EPA said "Oh no, that has asbestos. Tut tut. " Never mind that that particular type of insulation didn't fry, so would have been just fine. As well as a lot more effective.
True. The "non Asbestos" fire proofing was of very poor quality and flaking off at the time of the attack. They were replacing the fire proofing only step by step between tenant changes. But lets be honest, even the best asbestos would have been blown off by the impact in those zones.
Anybody who thinks this was a controlled demolition has no idea how a controlled demolition works. Prepping a building for demolition requires a lot of work. You have to plant charges on every floor and wire them. Thousands of people worked in that building. How could you do that without somebody noticing? How could you get them all in on the scam and keep them all quiet? Also, explosive charges detonating is VERY loud. It can be heard miles away. Of every footage of the towers falling from across the river, you don't hear any charges detonating. You surely would have heard it from that distance.
People said they did hear it and I'm going by what demolition professionals have said as well. Is it packed full of people during the night?? No. Besides people don't know what they're doing if they don't know.
Umm they where running different drills throughout the towers months prior. Do a little digging and find the first hand accounts of first responders talking about the explosions.
In all seriousness, they did better than designed for. The buildings were built for the largest plane at the time which was the 707. It was designed for planes that were relatively low on fuel and going about landing speed (approximately 180 MPH). In fact they were probably trying to design them based on the crash that happened at the Empire State Building in 1945. The planes that hit the towers were fully fueled, going at cruising speeds (about 3 to 4 times faster), larger, and intentionally aimed. Yet they still survived the initial impact. What brought them down were the fires that followed afterwards. People ask "Well why did they not design them for those kinds of impacts?" Because it was completely unheard of, had never happened before, and the planes that hit in 2001 literally did not exist in the 60s and 70s.
@@BostonSteve922 After the 1993 attempt at bringing one of the towers down, it wouldn't be too out there to think that they installed controlled demo gear into the structure's main supports in order to bring the towers down in a way that would cause the least amount of damage to the surrounding infrastructure. The way they secretly re-built the potentially unstable Citicorp Center building, in New York, without the occupants knowing about it, is an example of how such a thing can be done.
@@BostonSteve922 To clarify, if they did retro-fit controlled demo gear after the 1993 attempt, it would have been because they probably figured that future attempts would be made to bring the buidlings down, so it would be better to be prepared for a worse case scenario, than just hope it never happened again.
i watched vids years ago of people talking about bombs going off in the lobby and basement levels. its like how did things blow up on ground level when the planes were 80 stories up. when i saw this live i thought tops would fall off but was amazed when it went free fall. other vids where showing building fires where it lasted for many many hours and only few floors fell if any. i dont even see the vids in my saved list any more. wonder why they were taken down. other thing i wondered was the interviews talking about taking as many lives as possible, if that was the case why did they do it in early morning and not afternoon when most people be out?
My elementary school teacher said that Nostradamus prophesied that a great twin would fall before the millennium was over and a war would be fought for it. I don't know if Nostradamus actually wrote a prophecy like that but my teach was adamant about it. He claimed it would be the Twin Towers that would fall, and he said it in 1996, maybe 1997. I was certainly shocked when it actually happened but I don't believe the prophecy even existed, and if it did then it most certainly was a coincidence of words.
I’m not really sure what this video even is, if I’m honest. It adds nothing, and dismisses a whole bunch of victims on 9/11. I’m a Brit, and we saw it coming years before, but I just don’t understand the point of this video. I appreciate the upload tho
I was in Air Force Special Operations in the 90s. I retired in 98. I remember a briefing we had on WMDs and one discussion was the use of hijacked or suicide planes as weapons. I can remember several of us looking around at each other with a look of Damn that would bad. Sadly it came true. I wont mention some other scenarios but they were equally disturbing.
Exactly. If the sprinkler pipes had not been all in the core area the towers would probably not have fallen. At least not WTC 1. Not so sure about WTC2 since the damage was so uneven on the load bearing parts.
Listen to Kevin Cosgroves call from inside the South Tower. Seconds before the call brakes you can clearly hear the building from inside disintegrating. If you ask me if they really planted explosives I'd imagine you'd hear a loud boom before the call broke but that's not the case. Most likely he saw the building caving in before the call cut and then it collapsed.
Physically impossible. The reason it fell the way it did was because it ended up possible in the situation it was in. If you wanted to fall over you would have to remove the strong base lots of towers have (like tree roots, but instead steel and concrete).
The second plan hit close to the edge and severely weakened that side. More floors worth of weight putting more pressure on that area. That is exactly where the south tower failed. The same happened with the North tower. The collapse started at the point of impact.
