Devin Haney vs Loma fight week is finally here. Here we look at the man who stepped in against both of these Lightweight luminaries - and offered a scare on both occasions!
I don’t. Why, because many people use Haneys win against Linares as of how good he is and it’s constantly being said on him wobbling Haney. But I’m his biggest fights he did loose them so he’s only a B+ boxer.
Linares was the man dominating the division before Loma KO'ed him. Haney fought an older version of Linares & almost got stopped. He's lucky didn't have to see the Linares Loma fought.
That shit was funny 🤣 but we gotta applaud him for even trying to learn out language, other fights have been fighting in the states for a decade and still use a translator, it’s just being lazy honestly.
@@zeagiasbullshit 😂 Rigo was a much better fighter than Haney, same size & weight but a double gold medalist (unlike Devin) and got slept. Y'all finna be mad when pussy ass Haney get exposed 😂
To be fair to Linares he was a much better version when he fought Loma. Just like Luke Campbell was at his peak when Loma beat him and Campbell was not near as ready against Ryan. I think fighting against Loma took a little bit out of them. When Devin decided to punk Linares late in their fight Linares wasn't having any of it and Devin chicken walked and lost his mojo.
Stop the cap u just trying to down play all the attribute Linares showcased in the loma fight he perform the same in the Haney fight same hand speed same high guard same fast counters down play him just say that but don’t lie
@@anyaorahpeter9271 no it’s not Ffs loma only gets hit with 1.8 jabs per round, Haney landed 10 jabs Vs JoJo Diaz the last southpaw he fought and he threw over 200 you guys are living off the kambosos fights it’s funny
Thank you for this summary of the skills of these two champions. I have not followed boxing lately. I did not pay attention to boxing until Davis vs Garcia. I will be watching tonight...
Haney might be too young ,too big and too long for loma..but would love too see loma win because his on the end of his short professional career and danm! Skill wise this Guy is just beautiful to watch fight
I think he is too big and long, too top heavy and not much legs to balance the weight. It makes a lot of his punches arm punches. He should be hitting much harder for fast he is. Loma has power problems before but his recent training videos show huge improvements.
I want Loma to take this coz the flurry punches from Linares kinda had a thing on Haney and if Loma is in his zone.. It might be a tough night for Haney. Can't discredit Haney though, it's gonna be a very very tough and epic fight
Haney dominated Linares the entire fight except for that moment at the end of the 10th round, Linares gave Loma a war and knocked him down before Loma land that body shot and stopped Linares
@@nadermilite5652 Linares Loma fought was better tbh, younger and more dangerous, plus Loma was small compared to Linares, amazing how he won. Still a good win for Haney tho.
@@kiboma4209 stop dancing around the facts Haney dominated Linares while Loma went to war with him and got knocked down, Haney was 22 years old against Linares it's amazing how he won
@@nadermilite5652Linares was NOT winning that fight prior to stoppage, it wasn't even close. Loma significantly out landed him in just about every single round, even in the flash knockdown round Loma out landed him. Many shots were blocked or grazed and were counted as punches landed. It's because Golden Boy corruption were getting ready to rob Loma. There's many videos on punches landed, check it out you casual! AND a better version of Linares QUIT! That speaks volumes compared to being a former shell of yourself and lasting 12 rounds and even leaving the guy on chicken legs as well as carrying him for a few rounds. Loma was never dazed and hurt. Linares could have got up, look at the footage, he's stalling because he had enough of the pummelling from every angle, and he didn't want to continue getting pounding as Loma turns it up more in the championship rounds, so he quit. Look at his face post fight, he looks like he got hit by a baseball bat😂 I bet my left testie you one of those casual saying Ortiz beat Loma.
@@Marco-bh9im the Ortiz fight could've been a draw with no problem if you don't realize it's an extremely close fight that Loma got beat up in you're a delusional fan boy, Linares won 4 rounds clearly against Loma including the knockdown round stop lying Loma didn't dominate $hit he was struggling Linares had his number if it wasn't for the lucky body shot he would've been in trouble.
@@ghxstkennedy3637 He has two Gold Olympic medals 🤷♀️, 398 amateur fights, 397 wins 🤷♀️, He lost to Teo, Teo escaped from rematch 🤷♀️End of the story!
I like Linares but after that light welterweight 1st round loss he struggled to get decent fights and for me it looked like he was used as food for prospects. He gave good account of himself but watching his fights made me think he knew he supposed to lose. He was very hesitant with throwing his right in Haney fight and after buzzing Devin he let his foot off the gas. Next they brought him to Russia and he was clearly levels above Zaur Abdulaev just to get knocked out of blue in last round. Come May 20th and I could be proved that Devin always was the real deal. So far I have my doubts
@@Joe-nx7nj let’s not act like Haney wasn’t still landing lol y’all just say he have no power …but he was still landing the left hook and jab and had to think before just coming in reckless ,..the way he hurt Haney he was never just coming in 😂literally hurt him with a 1-2 at the end of the round from a distance …that’s discrediting him and Haney lol and after it happened Haney was the one who pushed forward for a reason
Maybe you didn't actually see the Mosely fight because Floyd grabbed onto Shane like a drowning man holding onto a life preserver. Just shows how much people talk out of their ass smh.
@@maximovaldes9518 Clinch mosely after almost every combination he landed...are you thick in the head or did you as i said, not actually watch the fight? Mayweather didnt exchange in 50/50s for the remainder of the bout. He literally would hit and grab. Which is an effective tactic.
Loma needs to get under that jab and punch with Haney. That will push Haney on the back foot and once that happens it’s all over for Haney. Loma being a master at angles is what’s needed to take away Haneys jab. Mark my words if Loma wins it’s because of what I just said. Nothing else matters in this fight. Can Loma take away Haneys jab and push him back.
U act like Haney don’t fight off the back foot lol probably one of his biggest strengths because his jab off the back foot 😂 Haney also likes the left hook and uppercut in go under ….I hate how y’all act like all he got is the jab ….he uses the jab the most because that sets everything else up ….
All gonna be about whether Loma has an answer to Haney’s clinching. Haney is really good at smothering offense and preventing opponents from building up momentum with those clinches. Its bending the rules and ugly, but its part of the game. If Haney gets Loma in a clinch every time he finds his pace, Loma is going to have a tough night. I think Loma will find a way around Haney’s jab though. We know Haney’s jab died off against Diaz, a southpaw. Loma got a lot more pressure and maneuvering than Jojo. But it won’t matter if Haney clinches every time Loma gets on the inside. I hope the refs don’t let him abuse it.
@@kiboma4209 lol it’s called clinching why would a boxer let u take away his distance ? It’s called a reset 😂….if ur really that good u should be able to get around it like Benavidez did plant .
I want to see Linares vs Teofimo but I feel that because of Linares age, it may be a little one-sided is that wrong to say? I also want to see Kambosos vs. Garcia and Haney going up in weight classes and becoming more aggressive with his career to become P4P instead of just undefeated.
@@Highcaliberx123 I agree with you 100%. I would really like to see Teofimo against Kambosos 2, and him go against Linares and honestly Garcia. I think that there are so many fights to be made still in these 135, 140+ divisions.
@@avanderwolf49 Kambosos stops Ryan easy , Ryan has terrible defence, terrible Foot work . But you might be in luck Top Rank just signed a multi fight deal with Kambosos maybe they are planning to make Teo Vs Kambosos 2 ?. Becuse they have Teo for 2 more years . I’d love to see that . Kambosos looks a bit better lately.
@@avanderwolf49 Tank is more skilled then Kambosos with a better ring iQ , I think Kambosos could win a few rounds but not enough to win a 12 round fight. Kambosos has shown to be able to take a punch so them 2 could possibly go the distance.
As always Great work Motivedia 👍👍👍,Haney has more professional and pragmatic thinking in the this business than Loma, let’s do not forget about this too,I wish best luck to Haney, stay focus and stay strong Champ 💪💪💪
Difference being that Loma didn't do the chicken leg when caught & wasn't saved by the bell. Imagine if Haney was wobbled at the beginning of that round with Linares. There are still questions about Haney as there are with Loma, has he still got it? It's gonna be a great fight, Saturdays Answers night, can't wait. May the best man win.
The Questions where somewhat answered on Saturday. Haney's chin stood up well & Loma definitely still has it. As for ur question did the best man on the night win. I don't know ur thoughts on the fight sir but mine are HELL NO, you would have to be DEAF, DUMB, BLIND & Racist to think that. No offence.
@@stephensavory4283 Agreed 🤣 I was watching with a buddy, and I go "This feels like a robbery coming," right before the scorecards. As soon as Moretti's 116 was announced we were both shocked. It's some of the most creative scoring in recent memory.
If Haney ever wants to become great, he needs to humble himself. If he doesn't, a loss against Loma is going to screw his mind up. Loma will win- let's see how he reacts.
Great presentation Motivedia👏👏 fans should be having this sort of match up every other week instead of every other year, can't wait imo if Haney goes out to prove himself as not just comfortable with sitting on a points win then I'm going for Haney late stoppage. Not sure if Loma still has the angles and footwork at 35 but hey, may the best man win and let's hope for a good clean one. 👊💥🥊
This fight is gonna be bigger then tank vs Ryan not main stream wise but for boxing fans people need to understand that both fighters both have a very high chance in beating tank
0:05 this is just a pure lie, after that punch Haney went into hugging mode, yeh he did though a few combo without any actual damage, but thats all. That was realy bad end of the fight for Devin everyone who saw that find out smth new about Dewin's chin that night. btw Linares was in a very bad shape that night he was so slow, and throwed only one punch all the fight - left hook, idk why. His right hand and combo attacks are s brilliant but he used it only a few times.
Look brother, if you want to give credit to Linares, please consider to change the title to something like: "Linares, the man who box both...... ",... I believe is right to credit him even from the title, otherwise it is more marketing for the big names and less for this excellent boxer, Linares, kind of downgrading his skills and career... Of course it is your channel and you can do whatever you want, BTW I didn't mean to say that you did something on purpose......you are a legit content creator,... but if you are open to suggestions, please kindly consider the above from me. Cheers. All the best.
Yeah the odds against him but you know the old saying don’t back a dog into a corner and that’s exactly where loma is I think we see a great fight may 20th my bet is with loma
I think Loma will stop Devin, either his corner stops the fight, or he knocks Devin out in the later rounds. Loma has seen it all, but is he in shape for the fight ? I guess, yes, just my opinion. If Linares can make Devin do the stanky legs, Loma's whose punching power is underrated, can KO him or stop him through too many accumulated punches. Loma is going to use those awkward angles on Devin, in fact, I see a repeat of Loma against the Jamaican axe Nicholas Walters, who took a 7 year layoff after the fight. Devin on the other hand, good boxing skills, more flat footed, still developing but not great, even though he's undisputed. To be fair, he's been calling out Loma for years now, doesn't mean he could beat him back then or couldn't. His punching power reminds one of the welterweight version of Floyd, can buzz, at least get the opponent's respect. His susceptible to baits, which means, Loma will set many traps he might fall into. Loma will have to make it a dog fight to win. He can't stay outside of the jab, which is not his game. If Devin stands toe to toe with Loma, he might get KOed, like I said already, Loma can crack. The footwork is going to be the key, I see Loma having a better footwork, to release easy combos on Devin. My heart as a bro, wants Devin to win, my head says Loma will knock him out.
i think Haney can win but is important to point out that he had such an easy time with Kambosos because Kambosos treated him like a kid, you could see the Kambosos plan was wait outside range and wait for Haney to become impatient and over commit. Haney does not over commit to anything he is too sharp too focused if Kambosos would have made the fight a little dirtier and smothered Haney that's the key to beating Haney you put your elbows up and you push him against the ropes. Lomachenko will have the same issue he fights too clean that is Haney's world.
@@RyanC232 i dont think Loma will be that loose inside range like he does with other people Haney in and out he doesn’t stay inside and trade punches and he is hard to catch
Everytime kambososo was loose before the 9th round he pieced haney. Haney was scared to death of kambososo getting loose. Holding for 90% of the early rounds. The ref needed to stop that overholding bs. Until kambososo was finally tired where Haney worked him with little resistance the rest of the way. Loma knows how to get out of clinches. So I'm not worried about that.
Boy how I loved the prime Linares... I hope Loma wont be too passive and Haney wont be too clinchy for this one, and we'll have a great fight to witness.
Idc care how old loma is he has to win this fight to be called one of the goats. If not I just see him as a great fighter that underachieved in the pros by a little bit.
@@cashree2370 Agree. Especially when you google Loma . 2008 his first Olympic Gold ( Loma is 19 years old) . He won all Europe championships. 35 years old is not The End .
Loma beat Linares by nock down and Haney beat Linares by decision 😅 it's a lot of people mistaking Loma and we can't take away that Devin is undisputed champ and good fighter but na
Man after both Haney last 2 fights im more worried about this Loma fight.. Just because Haney showed a LACK of stopping power in both fights vs Kambosis which is what has me worried. Granted Kambosis is a tough guy and can take a beating, but Haney couldnt stop him and HE WAS TRYING to get him outta there. Prior to Haney becoming undisputed i figured Loma could not beat him because Haney would be able to over power and control distance to either overwhelm and stop Loma or just outscore him most rounds kinda like Teofimo Lopez did. But now we CLEARLY SEE Haney doesnt have the same amount of power as Lopez so this fight becomes much more interesting … should be good
Devin is well aware that if Loma gets on the inside hes in trouble. That maybe the key to victory for Loma. Matrix reloaded will be required against Haney. May the best man on th night win.
Everybody know that , not many find the key 😊2007 he clearly lost to Selimov( World Championship) and got silver medal. In 2008 got rematch and win . His first professional fight against Orlando is BS decision , he didn’t make the weight, + 42 under belt punches 🤷♀️He lost to Teo first 6 rounds. Teo escape from rematch 🤷♀️
Everyone talking about Linares being fed to Haney. But what about Gamboa ? That man was fed to a couple different fighters to boost their name and resume. He had a hard time with him. And linares. Only fighter I give him credit for is kambosos cause he fought him twice in his prime. If Haney would’ve fought a prime gamboa or linares(before Lomachenko even) he wouldn’t have won in my opinion. Haney has boxing skills. But overall he’s balanced. He doesn’t have a outstanding trait that stands out like say with tank. Or lomachenko. Garcia or Lopez. Where any of those guys have either power or speed alongside combination punching that make them stand out. I’d say Haneys star quality is his boxing and defense. He can definitely do that.
